Leveraging Stakeholder Engagement for Sustainable Destination Branding in Pilgrimage Tourism through Advanced Information Systems P.R. Saranya, V. Sivakumar Indian Journal of Information Sources and Services, 2026 Pilgrimage tourism significantly contributes to the safeguarding of cultural heritage, the reinforcement of collective identities, and the vitality of regional economies. Nevertheless, the distinctive socio-cultural contexts and temporally concentrated visitation of such sites complicate the delivery of cohesive and enduring destination branding. This research advances the SANPCTUM Model (Stakeholder-Activated Network for Pilgrimage Cultural Tourism and Unified Marketing), a comprehensive architecture that mobilises stakeholder participation alongside sophisticated information technologies to elevate brand authenticity, ecological equilibrium, and the overall visitor journey. The model systematically enumerates primary stakeholders pilgrims, resident communities, destination management bodies, ecclesiastical authorities, and service supply chains examining their collective contributions to the co-creation of enduring brand equity. It then embeds analytical reservoirs including large-scale data processing, geographic information systems, and social media sentiment tracking to facilitate instantaneous surveillance, precision-targeted outreach, and decision-making rooted in empirical evidence. Employing a convergent methodological design that amalgamates quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, and data-analytic techniques, the model is empirically substantiated in a triad of representative pilgrimage sites. Results reveal that technology-facilitated synergy among stakeholders fortifies the branding of pilgrimage destinations, safeguards cultural patrimony, and fortifies economic and social resilience. This study advances scholarly discourse by converging stakeholder theory, sustainable tourism scholarship, and the integration of technology, thereby furnishing a pragmatically flexible framework for regulators, destination managers, and guardians of cultural heritage.
Mitigating Gender-Based Occupational Segregation in Logistics with a Job Rotation Model to Diversify Women's Career Paths S. Ramya, V. Sivakumar, R. Ruthramathi Indian Journal of Information Sources and Services, 2026 The problem of female occupational segregation in logistics remains an issue, as women tend to be restricted to administrative support, reception, and part-time jobs, whereas males are represented in the sphere of operations, planning, and management. This segregation restricts the career development of women, their skill development, and makes them more prone to attrition, thus affecting not only their individual career but also the organization's performance. Although numerous diversity programs have been introduced, the targeted recruitment, the mentoring programs, and the flexible work policies have contributed little to the overall solution of the underlying causes of segregation in logistics-specific jobs. Current initiatives are centered on the entry-level representation, whereas systematic career mobility and internal job diversification are not considered. This paper will discuss the historical factors that have pushed logistics towards gender-based occupational segregation, which include stereotypes, safety issues, role design, and informal networks that tend to lock out women in high-impact jobs. The paper also summarizes the existing internal mobility measures, such as job rotation programs and skill development programs, and how effective they are in diversifying female careers in logistics. Certain obstacles that impede the progress of women are also discussed, including the problem of the work-life balance, the risk of harassment, the absence of mentorship, and the discriminatory distribution of work. According to the analysis, the paper makes practical suggestions on how to curb the issue of occupational segregation along gender lines. These recommendations involve introducing organized internal mobility schemes, providing equal opportunities to leadership, providing inclusive workplaces, and improving mentorship services. The paper proposes that organizations implement strategies to enhance work-life fit, workplace safety, and provide specific career development support to women. Such initiatives can help increase a more diverse workforce, increase retention rates, and make the organization more resilient. The paper ends with the conclusions about the implications for future research and policy development that require more specific and systematic changes that could lead to the establishment of gender equity and a more diverse and inclusive logistics industry.
Leveraging Robotic Process Automation for Enhancing Operational Efficiency and Agility in Warehouse Management Systems Sampath Ramesh Iyengar, V. Sivakumar, R. Ruthramathi Indian Journal of Information Sources and Services, 2026 Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) are increasingly being demanded to process high order volumes, handle demand variability, and manage operational complexity, which can be challenging in manual and semi-automated warehouse operations. Such restrictions lead to delays, errors, and reduced responsiveness, especially during peak operations. To resolve these issues, this paper analyses the implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) as a non-invasive automation layer on an existing warehouse management system. The solution suggested aims to automate routine, rule-based warehouse operations, including order processing, inventory updates, and transaction recording, without any changes to the fundamental WMS. The implementation and evaluation of an RPA-based operational structure are based on real warehouse transaction data collected over a long period of operational activity. Performance is measured in terms of agility, operational efficiency, and the accuracy of system behavior before and after automation. The results show that integrating RPA can accelerate task execution, minimize human involvement, and enhance process consistency. Moreover, the system is more flexible in responding to changes in workload and becomes more coordinated in warehouse operations. The paper summarizes that RPA can be a viable, scalable solution for improving warehouse operations, especially when the organization wants to automate processes on a smaller scale without massive system restructuring. The work offers valuable information to practitioners and researchers who may wish to implement software-based automation in the current warehouse management setting.
