Efficient task offloading is critical for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), yet existing strategies often fail to address the complex inter-task dependencies inherent in real-world industrial workflows. Current approaches predominantly treat tasks as independent units, an oversight that leads to execution deadlocks, suboptimal resource scheduling, and system instability. To bridge this gap, this study introduces M-SIEGFENNet-TUA, a Multi-Scale Integrated Edge-Guided Finite Element Neural Network with Tactical Unit Algorithm, designed for sustainable and reliable task offloading in edge–cloud environments. The model integrates multi-scale analysis for feature extraction, edge-guided attention for prioritization, and finite element optimization for balanced resource allocation. Crucially, unlike standard models, M-SIEGFENNet-TUA explicitly manages task dependencies, ensuring that interconnected tasks are executed in an optimal sequence. Experimental results demonstrate reduced latency (120–160 ms), lower delay (cloud 50→7 ms), high task completion rates (up to 94%), and minimal energy consumption (52.7 J). Overall, the framework improves efficiency, reliability, and sustainability, aligning with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Video surveillance systems detect suspicious activities and enhance security in public spaces. This paper employs deep learning models, specifically Long-term Recurrent Convolutional Networks (LRCN) and ConvLSTM, to recognize abnormal behaviors from video data. The LRCN model achieved 94% accuracy, 92.59% precision, 91.03% recall, and 91.55% F1 score in detecting activities like running, fighting, and vandalism. The ConvLSTM model showed competitive results with 88.73% accuracy. Future research could expand to additional behaviors, integrate facial detection, and improve object tracking. This approach demonstrates deep learning’s potential to enhance public safety by automatically detecting abnormal activities.

For individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, hand movements, facial expressions, and body language serve as essential modes of communication. Indian Sign Language (ISL), like other sign languages, possesses rich linguistic characteristics with its own grammar and syntax. Recent advancements in real-time ISL gesture recognition have increasingly leveraged computer vision and deep learning methods to enhance communication accessibility. This study presents a computer vision–based system for recognizing ISL alphabet gestures using YOLOv8 as the core deep learning model. The ISL hand gesture dataset used in this research was sourced and annotated via Roboflow, providing a diverse and consistently labeled collection for training. The proposed model achieved excellent performance metrics, including a precision of 98 %, recall of 98 %, F1-score of 99 %, mean Average Precision (mAP@50) of 98 %, and mAP@50–95 of 93 %. These results demonstrate the model’s high accuracy and its potential for real-time ISL recognition applications, promoting more inclusive and accessible communication technologies
