Desalination and Water Treatment, 2025
Industrial wastewater, particularly from food manufacturing, contains high levels of organic matter, suspended solids, and heavy metals, posing environmental and public health challenges. Conventional methods, such as coagulation-flocculation and biological treatment, often have limitations, including high sludge production and inefficiencies in removing complex pollutants. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of electrocoagulation (EC) in treating food manufacturing wastewater compared to conventional treatment (CT) methods. A laboratory-scale batch reactor with aluminum and iron electrodes was used for electrocoagulation, while CT included coagulation-flocculation and biological treatment. Physicochemical, heavy metal and microbiological parameters were analysed before and after treatment. The results demonstrated that EC achieved higher removal efficiencies for key pollutants: 99.9% for COD, 99.9% for BOD, 97.7% for TSS, 96.9% for turbidity, and over 99% for heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and nickel. EC also exhibited superior microbial removal, achieving 100% eliminating total coliforms, fecal coliforms, and Salmonella . In contrast, CT failed to meet regulatory limits for several parameters. The findings highlight that EC is a promising wastewater treatment alternative due to its high removal efficiency, lower sludge production, and reduced chemical use. This study underscores the need for further optimisation and large-scale implementation of EC to improve industrial wastewater management. • Electrocoagulation removed >99% of COD, BOD, TSS, turbidity, and heavy metals from food wastewater. • EC achieved complete microbial removal, outperforming conventional coagulation–flocculation methods. • Integration of fluid flow dynamics improved pollutant separation and reactor performance in EC systems. • EC offers a scalable, low-sludge, and chemical-saving alternative for industrial wastewater treatment.

This research investigates the effectiveness of a CNN-LSTM hybrid model for forex investment risk prediction, demonstrating superior accuracy and robustness compared to traditional models. The proposed model achieves an F1-score of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{0. 9 4}$</tex>, outperforming standalone LSTM (<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{0. 8 8}$</tex>) and statistical approaches like ARIMA (0.67) and GARCH (0.72). Incorporating the Directional Change Framework enhances trend alignment, reaching 94.5% for GBP/USD and 96.2% for EUR/USD, compared to 81.3 % and 84.7 % without it. The model significantly reduces forecasting errors, achieving MSE <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$<0.0008$</tex>, RMSE <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$<0.025$</tex>, and MAPE <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$<1.8 \%$</tex>, ensuring stable predictive performance. Accurate indoor location tracking is becoming increasingly important for various applications such as navigation, asset management, and smart environments, especially when traditional GPS solutions fall short. Among the different methods for indoor positioning, RSS-based approaches are widely used due to their cost-effectiveness and ease of implementation over existing wireless networks. However, these methods are often hindered by environmental interference, leading to lower accuracy. This study explores the use of adaptive filtering to enhance the performance of multipath interference in indoor positioning systems that rely on RSS for signal positioning. The proposed hybrid filtering framework combines Kalman and particle filters with fractional-order derivatives to handle non-linear and dynamic signal variations. Additionally, a machine learning-based error correction module is incorporated to continuously improve the system's performance by dynamically adjusting filter parameters. Extensive simulations and real-world tests were conducted in multi-room indoor environments of varying complexity. The results demonstrated significant improvements in localization accuracy, reducing the average error to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{1. 2}$</tex> meters, a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{5 7 \%}$</tex> reduction compared to traditional RSS-based systems. The system was optimized for quick responses, with an average inference time of 50 milliseconds per instance, making it suitable for real-time applications. These findings confirm the robustness and scalability of the proposed framework, which offers a solid foundation for future indoor positioning systems in domains like the Internet of Things, smart cities, and healthcare.

2024 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing Aisp 2024, 2024
this article introduced a high gain tapered slot antenna with offset radiation characteristic. The proposed designed has an overall size of 58*64*1 mm3 mounted on a material type of FR-4. The gain can be enhanced by etching out rectangular slots with different length from the outer-edges that modifies the current behavior. Furthermore, a quarter elliptical of dielectric lens technique is employed for more gain enhancement. The dielectric lens is used to enhance the antenna gain and achieve more oblique radiating. The proposed structure is found to function in the wideband region≥1.9 GHz with S11<-10dB. Moreover, in the range of frequencies 1.9-12 GHz, the VSWR fluctuation with respect to frequency is observed to be less than 2. With a gain improvement of 3 dB at frequency of 10 GHz, the gain is increased across the whole desired frequency range. An offset phase shift of around 30 degrees from the endfire direction is provided by the suggested TSA. For many applications were reducing the aperture block and coupling between antennas is necessary for MIMO antenna design, this offset shift is crucial.

2024 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Signal Processing Aisp 2024, 2024
This paper provides multiband antenna-based Metamaterial for gains improvement. Here, the developed antenna constitutes patches such that the first is square-shaped and printed on a Taconic FR-30 substrate. In addition, for exciting the first patch, the process used conduction, whereas the other was capacitively coupled to the source as the impedance of either should be matched accordingly. Furthermore, the second patch constitutes a metasurface layer designed and placed on it as a superstrate, which increases the antenna gain towards the CRLH. The results show a maximum gain of 14.5 dBi at 5.7 GHz with maximum dimensions of 200× 200mm2. Moreover, this antenna operates at additional frequency bands (1.1 GHz, 1.3 GHz, 1.7 GHz, 3 GHz, 3.1GHz, 3.4 GHz, 4.7 GHz, 4.9 GHz, 5.7 GHz and 5.9 GHz), with a minimum reflection coefficient of −18.2db, −11.75db, 11.52db, −20.3db −17.47dB, −14.27dB, −11.3dB, −13.9dB −10.16dB and, −14.69dB respectively. The proposed antenna is designed and analyzed using the CST MWS simulator.
