The innovation and advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) have provided a large platform for automation and progress to a sustainable living. Over a period, it has helped to revolutionize the industrial sector with the terminology of IoT 4.0. In the current generation of smart homes and smart grids, they have provided a plethora of options to be discussed for the purpose of automation. Efficient implementation of IoT can lead to a significant rise in energy efficiency and reduce the overall consumption. On the other hand, certain IoT devices can be used in the field of healthcare. This chapter involves the various sensors which can be integrated in smart home and smart grid scenarios along with the transmission of data to the cloud with help of IoT software's and frameworks.
Role Of Green Buildings in Sustainable Living: Implementation and Impacts Viswanathan Ganesh, Ajay Krishna V.M, Senthilmurugan S, Ajit Ram R.R Ecs Transactions, 2022 The rise in the number of carbon footprints has led to various new challenges and opportunities to reduce the rate of global warming and carbon footprints present in the atmosphere. Similarly, the amount of global warming caused by the modern buildings and electrical devices which are required for the purpose of cooling and heating have played a key role in the higher concentration of temperature in the urban areas. On the other hand, the temperature levels in rural areas are comparatively lower than the urban areas due to large bare land available for the free movement of air and the effect of trees have reduced the temperature with the help of natural shades and oxygen production. Therefore, the concept of green building and net zero building have been incorporated to enable the concept of nature into the buildings where the people can be more interconnected to the nature and get benefited to reduce the overall temperature and global warming effect in the coming future.
BLDC Drive for EV Application Shiva Srenivasan Srinivasan, N.R.S Lakshanasri, Sahana M Setty, Piyush Dubey, Anant Singh, S. Senthilmurugan Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the efficiency of a BLDC motor in regenerative braking mode. The mode of operation of the BLDC motor using its torque-slip characteristics is taken into consideration to evaluate its performance. The simulation, characteristics and the tabular column are all got from the MATLAB simulation. The paper ends with a suggestion of using supercapacitors to compensate for the energy lost while the motor is in regenerative mode. The purpose of the supercapacitor has also been discussed to show the usefulness on the inclusion of the component. The motor and the supercapacitor compliment each other to increase the efficiency of the electrical vehicle.
Simulink model of advanced flisr intentional islanding for smart distribution networks S. Senthilmurugan, A. Rathinam, Viswanathan Ganesh, V.M Ajay Krishna Proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems Icees 2021, 2021 This Paper focuses on load sharing and power rerouting during fault conditions. This paper explains the Fault Locations Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR) Methodology the proposed simulation is established with the existing IEEE 9-BUS system on the software of MATLAB. The Introduction of Circuit breakers helps the existing 9-BUS System to perfectly work as a smart grid with uninterrupted power supply to the loads connected to the bus. The paper establishes a novel idea of rerouting powers with help of automated logic gates with relay functions. The simulation also helps us to conclude that under very low cost a conventional grid can be made to work as a smart grid with automated power routing to reduce the power outrages faced by public/Industries.
Smart grid-meters and communications-design, challlanges, issues, oppurtunities and applications Viswanathan Ganesh, S. Senthilmurugan, Ajay Krishna V.M, Ajit Ram R.R, Akash Prabhu Proceedings of 2020 IEEE International Conference on Advances and Developments in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Icadee 2020, 2020 Our near-term strategy is strengthened by the complexity of regional threats such as climate change and stability of global power grids. The Indian economy is definitely one of the world's tallest economies. Increasingly, economic power networks have also grown exponentially with a significant increase in renewable energy installations. Given all this, the allocation of energy here isn't standardized. It poses several problems and finds a quicker and fresher way of addressing these issues. So, we will live an electrifying life everywhere in a remote section of our country, from a metro city, until then This paper is therefore a summary of the clean energy projects in our energy system and development in the introduction of smart grids. Any connectivity network is an important part of smart grid growth. Scalable and robust connectivity infrastructure is essential both for smart grid construction and operation. In this paper we discuss the context and inspiration of the smart grid networks communication infrastructure. As part of a complex smart grid network, we are addressing the problems for the communication infrastructure. Smart meters are fitted with electronic devices that secretly connect with utilities to save energy and ensure customers are using power properly. This cycle helps to reduce pollution from the commodity and waste electricity. This paper describes Smart Meter's architecture, obstacles, difficulties, chances and applications.
Growth of Green Building Sector and Sustainable Life Viswanathan Ganesh, S. Senthilmurugan Iop Conference Series Earth and Environmental Science, 2020 Abstract From the early 2000’s, the knowledge of sustainable building had been raised gradually; hence its implication was also seen in many countries. It had made a revolution in Construction industry. Over Few decades many engineers and architects are doing vigorous research on sustainable engineering and Energy Efficiency. On the other hand we will be discussing about DC Buildings as they are scalable, affordable and flexible. This paper helps us to understand the concept of green building and net zero building. This paper also focuses on the need for green building and net zero building in the modern day. Here a multidisciplinary approach to a green and net zero building be discussed.
