Rasayan Journal of Chemistry, 2017 A mild, efficient and environmental benign protocol has been developed for the synthesis of bis(6-aminouracil-5yl)methane from aromatic aldehyde and two equivalent of 6-aminouracil in presence of catalytic amounts of sulfamic acid in aqueous ethanol. The significant features of this protocol include short reaction time, high yield, mild reaction condition, recycle and reuse of catalyst without significant loss of its catalytic activity and easy isolation of products.
