Who assesses morality, and how? A systematic review of research gaps in Akidah Akhlak assessment Andi Kurnia Muin, Wasis, Rivo Panji Yudha Multidisciplinary Reviews, 2026 Moral and character assessment has gained increasing attention in educational research, yet systematic examination of who assesses morality and how assessment is operationalized remains limited. This systematic review addresses these questions with particular attention to Akidah Akhlak assessment marginalization within Islamic education. Following PRISMA 2024 guidelines, we systematically searched Scopus for peer-reviewed publications (2015-2025) addressing moral, character, and values-based assessment. From 443 retrieved records, 187 articles underwent detailed thematic synthesis examining assessor configurations, methodological approaches, and research gaps. Bibliometric analysis characterized publication trends and disciplinary patterns. The review revealed fivefold growth in moral assessment publications (18 in 2015 to 90 in 2025), occurring predominantly within secular Western frameworks. Only one study (0.2%) explicitly addressed Akidah Akhlak assessment—where Akidah refers to Islamic creed and belief system, and Akhlak refers to Islamic moral character and ethics. Methodologically, quantitative survey-based approaches dominated (30.0%), with minimal authentic assessment methods (rubrics 0.5%, portfolios 0.5%). Critically, 98.6% of studies failed to specify assessor identity, revealing fundamental ambiguity regarding who evaluates moral learning. Multirater configurations were entirely absent. Akidah Akhlak marginalization reflects structural dynamics including database indexing biases and disciplinary concentration favoring psychology over religious education. Current practices demonstrate pronounced gaps across conceptual integration, methodological diversity, assessor specification, and cultural-epistemological grounding. The field requires reconceptualization of moral assessment from technical measurement to relational practice, developing humanistic frameworks honoring epistemological diversity while maintaining systematic rigor. Future research must address multi-actor assessment models, technology-enhanced platforms, and culturally grounded approaches synthesizing cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions within theologically coherent frameworks.
Accreditation as a tool for quality improvement or mere formality? A critical evaluation of early childhood education accreditation practices in Indonesia Lailatul Zakiyah, Rivo Panji Yudha, Intan Yusmarini Multidisciplinary Science Journal, 2026 This study aims to critically evaluate whether the practice of early childhood education (PAUD) accreditation in Indonesia serves as an effective quality improvement tool or is merely an administrative formality. Using a mixed-method program evaluation design, the study involved 240 kindergartens (TK) from four regions (Serang City, Jombang Regency, Surabaya City, and Bekasi City), 48 BAN PAUD assessors, and 120 school principals. Data were collected through questionnaires, document analysis, interviews, and field observations, then analyzed using statistical techniques (inter-rater reliability, ANOVA, Rasch model) and thematic analysis. The results revealed a significant gap between accreditation scores and the actual conditions of the institutions, especially in Process Standards, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Management (gap >15 points). Accreditation had a much greater impact on administrative aspects (87.5%) than on learning practices (33.7%), and gave rise to adaptive phenomena such as "Mutual Cooperation Accreditation" and "Model Space." Thematic analysis identified "Documentation Formality" (84.5%) and "Administrative Burden" (81.0%) as the dominant issues. Institutions with high socioeconomic status were 2.33 times more likely to receive an A accreditation than those with low status. The study concluded that the PAUD accreditation system in Indonesia functions more as an administrative formality than an effective instrument for improving educational quality, necessitating reforms that emphasize evaluation based on direct observation and oriented towards impact on child development.
Is retirement the end or the beginning? A psychological perspective on productivity among Indonesian retirees Huzaifah, Tri Rijanto, Rivo Panji Yudha Multidisciplinary Science Journal, 2026 Global demographic aging challenges traditional assumptions that retirement signifies the end of productive engagement. While psychological factors are theorized to influence post-retirement productivity, empirical evidence from non-Western contexts remains limited, particularly in rapidly aging Southeast Asian nations like Indonesia. This study examines the psychological determinants of post-retirement productivity among Indonesian retirees using an explanatory sequential mixed methods design, investigating how psychological well-being, meaning in life, self-efficacy, and retirement adjustment predict post-retirement productive engagement. The quantitative phase surveyed 387 Indonesian retirees (Mean age = 63.8 years; 60.5% male) using validated instruments measuring psychological constructs and productivity domains. Structural equation modeling tested hypothesized relationships while controlling for demographic variables. The qualitative phase conducted 26 in-depth interviews with purposefully selected participants representing diverse psychological profiles, analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. Psychological factors collectively explained 58.3% of productivity variance. Retirement adjustment emerged as the strongest direct predictor (β = .31, p < .001), followed by self-efficacy (β = .24, p < .001), psychological well-being (β = .21, p < .001), and meaning in life (β = .14, p < .05). Latent profile analysis identified four distinct psychological configurations—Thriving, Searching, Struggling, and Resilient—demonstrating multiple pathways to productive aging. Qualitative themes revealed identity reconstruction as foundational process, with cultural-religious frameworks (Islamic ibadah, Javanese ngalap berkah) providing culturally specific meaning sources. Structural barriers including ageism, gender norms, and limited volunteer infrastructure constrained productivity independently of psychological resources. Temporal dynamics revealed non-linear trajectories requiring 3-5 years for successful adjustment. Retirement represents neither inevitable decline nor automatic renewal but a psychologically contingent transition. Findings suggest interventions should target identity reconstruction, leverage cultural meaning frameworks, develop domain-specific efficacy, and address structural barriers. Indonesia's rapid demographic aging necessitates evidence-based policies maximizing retirees' psychological capital and productive potential.
Bibliometric Mapping of Renewable Energy Policies: Evaluating Laboratory-Based Research and National Innovation Ecosystems in Indonesia Rivo Panji Yudha, Ibtisam Ibtisam, Mansura Mokbul, Yessy Yessy E3s Web of Conferences, 2025 Transitioning to renewable energy for the purpose of curtailing greenhouse gases and dependence on fossil fuels is critical to delivering global goals, notably affordable clean energy (SDG 7) and climate action (SDG 13). This transition will make cheaper suppliers such as solar and wind the focus of investment, create jobs and lead to sustainable economic development, especially in low-and middle-income countries like Indonesia. But while Indonesia’s progress towards renewables and the policies backing it are not yet fully known. This study provides a snapshot of current renewable energy policy research in relation to Indonesia, lab-based research, and the national innovation system. The data were retrieved with Publish or Perish from Google Scholar and 1,000 publications found from 2010 to 2025 were the subjects of analysis in VOSviewer (network visualization, overlay temporal analysis, and density visualization). After the Paris Accords, 42.8% of the publications appear in top-five journals and a 80.8% increment in average publications outcomes is observed for year 2017. We discovered five primary theme clusters: economics and sustainability, policy design and choice; energy transition; technological innovation; regional dimension. But there are huge geographical discrepancies, with Asian-focused publications comprising only 7.7% and Indonesia accounting for just 0.5%, even though the country has large renewable energy resources. Density analysis showed that there is insufficiency in studies on Indonesia and its renewable innovation ecosystem indicating a large space for research.
Are retired teachers still critical thinkers? Evidence from post-retirement activities Said Riza Fasito, Rivo Panji Yudha, Tri Rijanto Multidisciplinary Science Journal, 2025 Global population aging underscores the need to understand cognitive capacities among retired professionals. Retired teachers represent valuable human capital with substantial cognitive reserve from decades of intellectually demanding work; however, their critical thinking abilities during retirement remain underexplored. This study examined critical thinking performance among retired Indonesian teachers and investigated associations with post-retirement activity engagement and cognitive reserve. A cross-sectional correlational design involved 178 retired public school teachers aged 55–70 years from East Java Province. Critical thinking was assessed using the Watson–Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal–Short Form (α = .87). Post-retirement activities were measured across six domains (cognitive, social, physical, productive, leisure, domestic), and cognitive reserve was operationalized through educational attainment, occupational complexity, and lifetime cognitive engagement. Hierarchical multiple regression and structural equation modeling were employed. Results indicated strong critical thinking performance (M = 28.7/40, SD = 5.4). Hierarchical regression revealed that post-retirement activities explained significant variance beyond demographics and cognitive reserve (ΔR² = .118, p < .001), with cognitive activities (β = .26, p = .002) and productive activities (β = .18, p = .024) emerging as significant predictors. Cognitive reserve demonstrated the strongest effect (β = .34, p < .001). Structural equation modeling confirmed excellent fit, with cognitive reserve and activity engagement jointly explaining 48.3% of critical thinking variance. Findings support cognitive reserve theory and highlight the importance of sustained cognitive and productive engagement in later life. Results have implications for policies leveraging retired teachers' expertise in educational and community contexts while promoting healthy cognitive aging.

Performance assessment through motion literation to assess the motoric skill of junior high school students based on laban notation Dinny Devi Triana, Rivo Panji Yudha Harmonia Journal of Arts Research and Education, 2021 Motor skills integrate physical functions and coordination between the brain as a center for information and control through visual activities (reading) and tactile (writing) movement symbols. Symbols and motion codes are found in labanotation, so the ability to read symbols and write symbol patterns is called motion literacy. It can be done through continuous assessment continuously in an effort to diagnose their abilities. The results of the study describe a change in the condition of students’ motor skills after intervention through labanotation-based motion literacy work assessment, namely the change in conditions from the intervention condition (B) to the final baseline condition (A’) decreases the students’ adaptability. However, at the final baseline condition (A’), the motor ability score improved better than in the phase before baseline (A). The total average score obtained in this condition was 62.86%. Thus it can be concluded that the effect of performance appraisal through motion literacy provides benefits for improving brain function because structured and programmed motion exercises are useful in stimulating various learning centers in the brain. This also impacts on improving motor skills in students to undergo the learning process at a later stage.
