Pertanika Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, 2026
This study aimed to develop a problem-based learning model that integrates Aneuk Jamee cultural values through the use of digital platforms to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. The method used is research and development (R&D) based on the Plomp approach, which includes the stages of initial investigation, design, development, formative evaluation, implementation, and dissemination of the product. The participants were thirty fourth-grade students (N=30; aged 9-11 years) in a public elementary school in Malang, Indonesia. The research instruments included learning tools, student books, activity sheets, and computational thinking ability tests. The results show that integrating local culture into learning increases motivation, active participation, and students' understanding of the material and cultural values. This model has also been proven to support the development of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Expert validation indicated that the developed tools were highly feasible for use, and trial results showed a significant improvement in students' computational thinking abilities. This research makes a tangible 316 contribution to innovation in culturally based and contextually relevant digital technology learning while strengthening students' cultural identity in the global era.

Kukuh Andri Aka, Punaji Setyosari, Endang Purwaningsih, Mardhatillah Mardhatillah
European Journal of Educational Research, 2025
Integrated learning has emerged as an approach to developing critical thinking and creativity skills. This meta-analysis synthesizes the effects of integrated learning on critical thinking and creativity, drawing from experimental studies published over the past decade. This study addresses the research question: What are the impacts and factors influencing integrated learning on students' critical thinking skills and creativity compared to conventional learning over the past decade? In the database, 403 articles were obtained, which were then supplemented by seven articles from manual searches, so that there were a total of 410 articles. After a strict inclusion process, 8 articles were selected for analysis. The inter-rater reliability test using Cohen's Kappa coefficient produced a value of 0.78, which indicates a substantial level of agreement. The analysis includes data from 497 participants for critical thinking and 266 for creativity. Heterogeneity in critical thinking skill data was 96%, and in creative skills, it was 86%; then, a subgroup analysis of education level was carried out to find out where the high heterogeneity was. The results show a significant positive effect of integrated learning, with an SMD of 1.48 (p = .004) for critical thinking and 1.60 (p = .0001) for creativity. Funnel plots and Egger's regression tests indicate no risk of publication bias. In addition, this study also synthesized the causal factors of how integrated learning affects critical thinking skills and creativity. Further research is recommended to explore its long-term impact and implementation strategies in various educational settings.

  • Examining natural number bias processes in elementary school students: A case study in Indonesia
Sri Rahayuningsih, Ade Eka Anggriani, Mardhatillah, Siti Faizah, Mohammad Yusuf Randy, Aminuddin Hasan, Muhammad Ikram
    Multidisciplinary Science Journal, 2025
Elementary, middle, and college students often encounter difficulties in grasping rational numbers and their properties. This qualitative study utilized a case study approach to examine the cognitive processes of elementary students affected by natural number bias, contributing to the advancement of cognitive theories in mathematics instruction. Non-random purposive sampling was employed to select participants, with 171 fifth-grade students in Malang undergoing a paper-and-pencil exam. After screening, only seven students qualified as research participants. Data collection involved mathematical tests and video-audio interviews, with responses recorded and analyzed through coding and interpretation. Investigator triangulation ensured reliability. The findings reveal that students predominantly use rule-based strategies for fractional operations and number sense strategies for fractional comparisons, demonstrating a clear distinction in their approaches. Furthermore, a pattern of systematic errors was identified: students relying on rule-based strategies tended to make errors in conceptual tasks, while those using number sense strategies struggled with procedural tasks. These results emphasize the importance of balancing rule-based procedural skills and number sense understanding in teaching. The study recommends developing comprehensive mathematics learning materials that promote diagram representation, problem-solving strategies, conceptual understanding of fractions, and mathematical reasoning to support students' deeper understanding of rational numbers.
  • Multi-faith partner programme through family project: navigating students with the Lakum Dinukum Waliyadin curriculum
Yusuf Hanafi, Muhammad Saefi, Tsania Nur Diyana, M. Alifudin Ikhsan, Muhammad Alfan, Toto Nusantara, Mardhatillah, Siti Salina Binti Mustakim
Journal of Beliefs and Values, 2025
The family project programme was developed in response to the Indonesian government’s programme on the mainstreaming of religious moderation. Although this programme has been running and many studies have been conducted on its success, there is not much research that attempts to examine how family closeness and relational conflicts can affect tolerance actions, as well as exploring the implementation of family projects. The purpose of this research emphasises how students’ experiences in family projects can shape perceptions and tolerant practices with peers. This research uses a mixed-methods approach involving a survey method with 275 students, focussing on first-year students, with the aim of obtaining significant and comprehensive insights. The results of this study indicate that family emotional relationships significantly contribute to tolerance actions, but tolerance actions can be influenced by external factors, such as social interactions. Exploratory research with a qualitative approach provides more detailed information, where students prefer to listen to others’ views rather than share their own beliefs. Highlighting this finding, students perceive the family programme as a safe and comfortable space for them to share their beliefs, especially if the programme needs to be conducted over a long period and with a high frequency of social interaction.
  • The impact of a gender mainstreaming-based blended learning flipped classroom model on the solidarity values and problem-solving abilities of students
    Lili Kasmini, Mardhatillah, Satria Prayudi
International Journal of Innovative Research and Scientific Studies, 2024
This study examines the impact of a gender mainstreaming-based blended learning flipped classroom model on the solidarity values and problem-solving abilities of students. The acquisition of problem-solving skills and the cultivation of values related to solidarity are imperative proficiencies in the context of 21st-century dynamics. These competencies serve as pivotal attributes for students aspiring to navigate the intricacies of communal and national challenges. An existing quandary lies in the domain of primary education within the Aceh province, and the pedagogical landscape within primary schools has not incorporated the essential dimension of nurturing adeptness in problem-solving. This is because learning is still teacher-centered and needs more student engagement. Therefore, a model should be developed to address the issue of gender mainstreaming-based blended learning in a flipped classroom model. This research aims to develop a model for developing a blended learning flipped class based on gender mainstreaming to increase students' solidarity values and problem-solving abilities. This study employed a development model that referred to the 4-D model proposed by S. Thiagarajan et al., consisting of definition, design, development, and dissemination. The sample consisted of fifth-grade elementary school students from SD Negeri Kajhu, Aceh Besar Regency, who were taught using the gender mainstreaming-based blended learning flipped classroom model. The results showed that the developed learning model created more meaningful learning experiences. Solidarity values and problem-solving abilities of students increased when taught with the learning model.

Advances in Mathematics Scientific Journal, 2020
One factor that focuses the author’s attention to performing research that influences learning outcomes is emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive, process, and regulate emotions to respond positively to situations that trigger emotions. Both formal, informal and non-formal learning results across all education and teaching lines are targets to achieve as expected without neglecting the factors that affect it, one of which is emotional intelligence. Based on observations, SD Negeri Pasi Pinang, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency grade VI students did not indicate vital emotional intelligence. How is emotional intelligence’s impact on learning outcome mathematics for Class VI SD Negeri Pasi Pinang, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency? This study uses an empirical approach to obtain the necessary data according to problem formulation by generating descriptive and experimental test results. There is no significant impact on mathematics learning outcomes of grade VI SD Negeri Pasi Pinang, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. This can be seen from the study results using the regression test to show that the regression equation is Y=87.818 + 0.02 X. A significant value of 0.985, where the significant value is 0.05 (0.985 > 0.05), is recognized from the significant test results. So it can be argued that emotional intelligence has no significant impact on learning outcomes. corresponding author 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification. 97C40, 97C60.
