Factors affecting the skills and overall career development: an empirical analysis among the employees of banking sector Manuja Garg, Sanjeev Bansal International Journal of Business Excellence, 2025 Training and development are the most vital component of any organisation to build efficient and skilled manpower. The training program aims to give the knowledge, instructions, needful skills and instructions to the existing and new employees to perform the particular job. Therefore, this article analyses the various demographic variables related to the employees of the banking sector and their impact has been studied on the various extracted components like internal motivation, training objective and overall career development. It has been found that variables like the age group of the employees and the number of training programs attended by the bank employees have a significant impact on one of the three extracted components.
Improving the quality of process by eliminating the problems using lean tools – a case study Inderjit Singh Sodhi, Ankesh Mittal, Gurbhej Singh, Vimal Kumar, Sachit Vardhan, Sanjeev Bansal International Journal of Productivity and Quality Management, 2025 Lean manufacturing (LM) is a philosophy that has gained popularity in recent years as a way to achieve business goals. LM is a combined system whose main focus is on the removal of waste by simultaneously reducing or minimising suppliers, customers, and internal waste. This paper presents a case study of a manufacturing company that implemented lean tools to improve their production process and eliminate problems. The aim of this research study is to distinguish between the working parameters as well as working conditions within the industry at the present time that is before implementation of LM and also to know the change in the working capacity and conditions of the plant itself after the changes made through LM tools and techniques. The results of this study showed that the implementation of these lean tools led to significant improvements in the production process, including eliminating the time consuming tasks, which saved lot of time by reducing the idle time during production.
Rural tourism in Himachal Pradesh in transition: Challenges for regional sustainability Vikas Verma, Rakesh Ahlawat, Mandeep Ghai, Sajeev Bansal Multidisciplinary Reviews, 2024 To enhance the functioning of tourism, rural tourism plays a crucial role by involving the local community and creating alternative sources of income and employment in agricultural areas and mountainous (tribal) regions. This study aims to examine the state of rural tourism in Himachal Pradesh, utilizing document analysis, qualitative interviews with various focus groups, and engaging stakeholders in discussions. Recent challenges and trends in rural tourism in Himachal Pradesh were also assessed. Furthermore, the study evaluated the current marketing structure of Himachal Pradesh concerning rural tourism products. The key findings of this research highlight the need to establish a comprehensive framework for rural tourism at both the state and national levels, focusing on general guidelines and strategic aspects of rural tourism. Additionally, it suggests the implementation of integrated provisions in marketing and regional legislation, developed in close collaboration with local stakeholders.
Impact of training and development programmes on skills and overall career development of bank employees: the case of Punjab (India) Manuja Garg, Sanjeev Bansal International Journal of Services and Operations Management, 2023 In this technological era, both public and private sectors are going through technological up gradation and becoming competitive in nature. With this, the banking sector is also facing a huge transformation in its working style by utilising the internet and mobile banking, etc., which is the symbiosis of technology and financial services. These services are proved to be the hottest area of development in banking sector. To upgrade their manpower, training and development programmes are the key aspects of any organisation. To validate the effect of these programmes this study analyses the sample of 400 employees of various public and private banks in Punjab (India). The analysis has been performed using multiple regression and structure equation modelling approaches and both the approaches reveals that there is a significant impact on the overall career development with training and development programmes.
