  • Impact of Generative AI on Healthcare Imaging
Anshu Khurana, Tina Dudeja, Nitish Uppal, Nitin Garg
Generative Artificial Intelligence Technology and Applications, 2025
The growing demand for precise diagnosis, the complexity of medical imaging data, and the scarcity of skilled radiologists are among the major difficulties facing healthcare imaging. Traditional image analysis methods are often unable to keep up with the volume and complexity of contemporary medical data. By developing new possibilities in medical imaging, including improving image quality, producing synthetic training data, and raising diagnostic accuracy, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) presents transforming answers. Generative Adversarial Networks along with transformer-based architecture can synthesize high-quality medical images, thereby facilitating more precise illness diagnosis, including cancers and organ anomalies, and enhancing the training of artificial intelligence systems. Moreover, GAI can reconstruct noisy or incomplete images, hence enhancing their clarity for therapeutic applications. Incorporating GAI into healthcare imaging, however, poses challenges such as data privacy, regulatory licensing, and the requirement for comprehensive validation to ensure clinical safety. Despite these challenges, GAI possesses significant potential to revolutionize imaging diagnostics and expedite the provision of precise and personalized therapy in medical settings.
  • A survey on spectral and energy efficient next-generation wireless networks
    Nitish Uppal, M. Gangadharappa
Proceedings of the 2021 8th International Conference on Computing for Sustainable Global Development Indiacom 2021, 2021
The exponential increase in mobile data traffic and ever-increasing mobile users has led to a swift rise in the energy consumption and operational costs of wireless networks. Spectral Efficiency (SE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) are considered to be the most important metrics for any wireless network but both, SE and EE, usually conflict with each other. In this paper, we have done survey of different physical layer technologies like OFDMA, mm-wave, heterogeneous networks etc. and various radio resource allocation techniques to simultaneously optimize SE and EE in different wireless networks. The various network planning strategies such as reduction in cell size, cell zooming and dense deployment of base stations (BSs) are investigated to optimize EE besides SE of the wireless networks. The findings of survey paper also reveal different power control algorithms to optimize EE along with increasing the overall system capacity and number of users in the shared spectrum. The survey done in this work provides an essential understanding on the deployment of spectral and energy-efficient next-generation wireless networks.
