Identification of faults in rotating machines using high precision FBG vibration sensor: a case study on PM schemes Dipak Ranjan Nayak, Nilam N. Ghuge, Ambarish G. Mohapatra, Pramod Sharma, Narayan Nayak, Satyapriya Satapathy, Ashish Khanna Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2024 Predictive maintenance (PM) is a data-driven approach to performing proactive maintenance by analyzing the condition of the equipment in any industrial setting. The high-precision sensors are widely adapted to meticulously analyze critical maintenance conditions using such a data-driven approach. In a similar context, a fiber brag grating (FBG) sensor is a passive and high-precision sensor that is widely used in industries where conventional sensors are not preferred. Broadly, this article presents four sub elements of the proposed integrated system such as the design of the sensor element, signal processing scheme (SPS), machine learning (ML) model for predicting anomalies, and decision support system (DSS) to suggest maintenance actions. Also, this article highlights an experimental case study on vibration monitoring and analysis of real-time signals for making proactive maintenance decisions. An FBG vibration sensor of center wavelength 1,550 nm is designed and utilized to acquire real-time vibration signatures of a rotating machine under test. A piezoelectric vibration sensor is used with the FBG sensor to compare the vibration response obtained during the test. Pre-processing of raw signals is performed using a moving average filter (MAV) followed by a low pass filter to nullify the effect of noise. To obtain proactive maintenance decisions, a DSS model is prepared by considering the processed vibration signatures. Various maintenance conditions are tested during the experimental analysis and detailed results analysis are presented.
Modeling and Analysis of Power Quality Improvement Strategies Using Improved Dynamic Voltage Restorer Sunil Kumar, Shoyab Ali, Pramod Sharma 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Data Communication Technologies and Internet of Things Idciot 2024, 2024 Modern power systems face increased power quality issues due to numerous non-linear loads, with voltage sags being particularly disruptive. Voltage sags, characterized by a temporary drop in voltage levels, can cause significant equipment malfunctions and economic losses. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) has become a key solution for mitigating these sags. This research presents an advanced PI controller-based DVR, using numerical simulations and modeling to evaluate its performance under various conditions. Results from MATLAB/Simulink simulations, conducted in a three-phase power system environment, demonstrate the enhanced DVR's superior ability to compensate for voltage sags, thereby improving power quality significantly compared to conventional DVRs. The study meticulously assesses compensation time, sag magnitude, and load variations, highlighting the advanced system's effectiveness in power quality enhancement.

Security Analysis of IoT Networks using Diffusion Kernel Spike Attention Network with Atomic Optimization based Intrusion Detection System Manju Sharma, Monika Sharma, Lavanya, Pramod Sharma, Shashikala Gurpur, Syed Noeman Taqui Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Data Intelligence and Cognitive Informatics Icdici 2024, 2024 Recently, the most prominent study areas are Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications. The attributes of the Internet of Things (IoT) facilitate its practical uses in real life, but also leave it vulnerable to online attacks. Numerous IoT nodes gather, store, and handle personal data, making them a prime target for hackers. The main objective of a network intrusion detection system is to find network intrusions, which is essential to guaranteeing the Internet of Things' security. Numerous investigators have tackled this issue and have put out numerous intrusion detection methods. Cyberattack subcategories are hard to identify and performance improvement is a challenge for the existing system. This research project introduces a new method for security analysis in Internet of Things networks by creating the Diffusion Kernel Spike Attention Network with Atomic Optimization (DifK-SAN+AO). This research employs a Diffusion Kernel Spike Attention Network to counteract cyberthreats and provides an overall threat analysis of the Internet of Things. The classification of threat and normal patterns on an IoT network is the main topic of this research study. For every form of attack, the proposed model shows promising findings. We use empirically based, simulation-generated datasets (ToN-IoT, BoT-IoT, and CIC-IoT-23 datasets) to detect attacks directed on the IoT ecosystem. In order to perform a security analysis, the results can be compared using the security metrics that are calculated, including the accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score factors. The experimental results are more reliable than current algorithms and show 99.2% accuracy in detecting a variety of threats. As it would be observed from the results of the simulations, this demonstrates how efficient our method is in assessing the impacts of the attacks in IoT networks and maintaining good performance values.
