Estimation of the Diffusion Coefficient and Hydrodynamic Radius (Stokes Radius) for Inorganic Ions in Solution Depending on Molar Conductivity as Electro-Analytical Technique-A Review

Diffusion coefficient (D) and radiuses of inorganic charge ions (R) in different environments is of importance in scientific fields, explaining certain features of ions. D values were obtained using the Einstein-Smoluchowski equation depending on limiting molar conductivity (λo) of inorganic charge ions. Inorganic ions have D values at the range of 1−3×10−9 m2.s-1, except hydroxyl and hydrogen ion (5.2×10−9 and 9.1×10−9 m2.s-1, respectively). The hydrodynamic radius R for diffusing ions was calculated using the Stokes–Einstein equation based on D values. Inorganic ions have R, values at the range of 1−3×10−10 m, except hydroxyl and hydrogen ion (R=0.47×10−10 and 0.27×10−10 m, respectively).

Hydration thermodynamics and hydrodynamic (Stokes) radius of the lanthanide ions

Biochemical and physiological properties depend on the size of ions and the thermodynamic quantities of ion hydration in numerous states. The diffusion coefficient (D) of lanthanide series ions (Ln+3) in solution (1.558-1.618 ×10−9 m2 s−1) as calculated by the Einstein–Smoluchowski relation depended on conductance measurements as electro - analytical measurement. The association constant (KA) of Ln+3 ions (210.3-215.3 dm3 mole-1) was calculated by using the Shedlovsky method, and the hydrodynamic radius was (1.515-1.569 ×10−10 m) as calculated by Stokes–Einstein equation. ΔHo, values were obtained from the literature. The thermodynamic functions (ΔGo, ΔSo) were calculated by suitable equations, ΔGo, for ion hydration, had negative values in the range (13.25 - 13.31 kJ/mole), ΔSo also were of negative values, results have been shown in the limit (11.299 - 12.573 kJ/ K. mole).

Benefits of Consuming Citrus Fruits as Vitamin C Source in the Treatment of COVID-19

COVID-19- Citrus fruits- Vitamin C: COVID-19 is a virus that affects people unevenly with most cases showing mild symptoms, especially in children and young adults. However, some cases can appear severe and dangerous, as many patients require medical care in hospitals. Nutrition is very beneficial to health, especially in cases where it may need to strengthen the immune system, fruits are one choice in this field like citrus fruits (ex; oranges, clementine, and grapefruit) because it's a famous source of vitamin C. This letter focuses on introducing vitamin C's benefits in treating influenza and COVID-19 viruses.

  • Study the Impact of Active Cooling Systems on Solar Cell Efficiency

    Journal of Techniques, 2025
The performance development of photovoltaic systems has become crucial with the increasing demand for renewable energy sources. Cooling systems play a crucial role in maintaining solar cell temperatures within optimal ranges, thereby improving their overall efficiency. This study presents an experimental investigation into the effectiveness of fan-based cooling systems aimed at enhancing the efficiency of solar cells. In this experiment, a cooling system was tested under limited environmental conditions to assess its impact on solar cell performance. It was concluded from the results that reducing the temperature using the air-cooling system did not significantly impact the efficiency of the solar cell when the temperature was below 50 degrees Celsius; however, the proposed cooling system was effective in reducing the temperature of the solar cell by 18 °C relative to the reference solar cell.

  • The effect of sodium chloride on thermodynamic paraemeters of ion association for cysteine and methionine with L-ascorbic acid in aqueous solution at different temperature

Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Molar conductivity for hydrogen bonds ion association of ascorbic acid (AA) with Cysteine (Cys) and Methionine (Met) at concentration (2–5×10−3, 2×10−3 and 2×10−3 M respectively) in water and in (2×10−3 M) sodium chloride (NaCl) solutions was examined at temperatures range (298 K to 313 K). The conductance equation of Shedlovsky was used to calculate the association constants (KA) and the limiting molar conductance (Λo). The association heat, the Gibbs free energy, the change of entropy and the activation energy (ΔHo, ΔGo, ΔSo, and ΔES respectively) also calculated. All results are computed. The data showed increasing of Λo, with increases in temperature and the same trend in decreasing for KA. The data showed negative values for ΔHo and ΔGo parameters. This refers to the exothermic association processes, and values increased with increasing in AA concentration, while ΔSo and ΔES parameters show a positive value related to the higher mobility of the ions and decreasing of ion association solvation in water and NaCl solutions. The ΔEs and ΔHo of a different solution in present sodium chloride show decreasing in values as compared with water solution at different concentration of AA, while the opposite trend values appear for ΔGo and ΔSo with some exception.
  • The Improving of the solid block concrete thermal behavior by using the powder particles of Eucalyptus camaldulensis bark

Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Eucalyptus has been widely planted in the world. In the last century, the genus eucalypts became an important multipurpose source in many industrial applications after removal the bark as a wood working waste. Concrete block are much known used in building. The objective of this paper to improve the constructional thermal behavior of solid block concrete which used instead of bricks in building construction by adding the powder particles ( average diameter is 1-5 µm ) of eucalyptus Camaldulensis bark ( Plates type ) during concrete formation, to obtain a block concrete with low weight, enhanced thermal and mechanical properties reached to decrease electric energy need to operate air-conditioner systems. Researchers found that the perfect added is ( 7.5 g ) for construction testing while the perfect quantity is ( 5 g ) for thermal testing with decrease the mass density.

Molar conductance (Λ) of ionizable side chains amino acids, lysine (Lys) and arginine (Arg) with dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) in water and in NaCl solutions was measured at temperatures range 298 K to 313 K. The limited molar conductance (Λo) and the constant of the ions association (KA) are calculated using the Shedlovsky techniques. The dynamic radius of the concerned ion (R) is calculated by used Stokes–Einstein relation. The heat of association, the Gibbs free energy, the change of entropy and activation energy (ΔHo/ kJ mol-1, ΔGo/ kJ mol-1, ΔSo/J K-1 mol-1, and ΔES/ kJ mol-1) respectively), also calculated. The data show increases the molar conductance with increase in temperature and decreasing in values at addition of DHA to Lys and Arg solutions. The association ions in NaCl solutions appear to increase in radius and decrease in diffusion coefficient relative to water solutions.ΔES, shows in most samples a positive value for the association and the values in NaCl solutions has lower relative to the water solutions. ΔGo is a trend to decrease with an increase in DHA concentration in water and NaCl solutions. The ion association is exothermic reaction relative to the negative value of ΔHo. The ΔSo andΔHo results, for Lys and Arg solutions, show decreasing in values at increase in DHA concentration in water and NaCl solutions. ΔGo (kJ mol-1), ΔSo (J K-1 mol-1), ΔHo (kJ mol-1), and ΔEs (kJ mol-1)
