DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL PARAMETERS FOR REMOVAL OF REACTIVE ORANGE HE2R DYE BY USING HYBRID TECHNIQUE Pallavi Kale, Kavita Kulkarni, Anand Kulkarni, Dipali Lavate, Prashant Dhanke Rasayan Journal of Chemistry, 2025 The effluent from the textile industry needs treatment before disposal. Stabilized zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by a green synthesis approach. Characterization of synthesized nanoparticles was carried out as XRD and Scanning Electron Microscopy. Reactive orange HE2R dye was treated using a hybrid approach. First, liquid Azospirillum biofertilizer was used to remove the dye, and then, as a follow-up, green-manufactured photocatalyst zinc oxide nanoparticles were employed to remove the dye. Initial concentration, pH, and contact time were among the parameters examined. The study established the ideal experimental conditions, which included a pH of 8, a contact time of 120 minutes, and an initial concentration of 100 mg/L. The elimination efficiency of the combined approach was 89%. According to the research findings, the hybrid technique provides the foundation for color removal using an environmentally safe manner and is more appropriate and successful in explaining the color removal process (2 steps).
Treatment of Textile Reactive Orange HE2R Dye by using Biosorbent Azospirillum and Tricoderma Pallavi Kale, Kavita Kulkarni, Anand Kulkarni Journal of the Textile Association, 2025 Adsorption of reactive orange HE2R dye from an aqueous solution by using low cost biofertilizers such as Azospirillum and Trichoderma was studied. The study comprises of assessment of adsorption capacities with respect to adsorbent dosages, dye concentration, pH, contact time, and dye solution temperature. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm effectively associated with the experimental data, and the isotherm parameters, Qmax and R2 was computed. For Azospirillium and Trichoderma, the adsorption capacities were 146.0765199 mg/g and 124.0509789 mg/g respectively. Using the Langmuir isotherm, a single-stage batch adsorber was designed for various ratios of treated dye volume to adsorbent mass
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY REMEDIATION OF HAZARDOUS CATIONIC DYE BY UTILIZING CASHEW NUT SHELL POWDER AS BIO-ADSORBENT Poonam Mandale, Kavita Kulkarni, Kishor Jadhav, Anand Kulkarni Rasayan Journal of Chemistry, 2024 The objective of the current study was to find cashew nutshell powder as an inexpensive adsorbent to extract malachite green (MG) dye from a water solution. Parameters like the influence of temperature on MG dye ions, adsorbent dose, pH, dye concentration, and time of contact on the cashew nut shell powder were investigated in batch experiments. Using a scanning electron microscope, Fourier transforms infrared radiation, and Electronic dispersive elemental analysis, cashew nut shell powder characterization was studied. Analysing of the equilibrium data for Freundlich, Temkin, Langmuir, and Elovich isotherms was studied. Freundlich isotherm was perfect to the experimental data and the maximum percentage removal observed was 72% for MG at 25˚CThe adsorption data was found to be perfectly fitted by the pseudo-second-order model.
Investigation and Modeling of Fluoride Ion Adsorption on an Azospirillum Biofertilizer Kavita Kulkarni, Jayant Bhogle, Rahul Kulkarni, Atul Bari Chemical Engineering and Technology, 2022 The process of fluoride removal from water using an Azospirillum biofertilizer as adsorbent was modeled. Experiments were performed in a column with varying flow rates and bed depths, at constant initial fluoride concentration. The experimental data obtained from the column studies were correlated employing different models: Thomas, Yoon‐Nelson, Adams‐Bohart, Clark, and BDST (bed depth service time). The Thomas and Yoon‐Nelson models were found most suitable for describing the dynamic adsorption process with respect to key operating variables. Breakthrough curves were obtained from the modeled equations. The calculated and modeled breakthrough curves were in agreement with each other.
