Robust phase extraction from complex signals/fringe patterns for optical communications in 5G and beyond through continuous wavelet ridge technique Divya Haridas, Jyoti Singh, J. Roopa Jayasingh, D. Deepa, K. C. Ramya, Ankush D. Tharkar Internet Technology Letters, 2025 The rapid progress in high‐precision optical instruments necessitates sophisticated image processing techniques for extracting vital information from generated images. Most of these instruments output images comprising RGB pixels. Deciphering these pixel values into phase information poses a significant challenge, especially in the presence of background noise. This study focuses on utilizing Two‐Dimensional Continuous Wavelet Transforms (2‐D CWT) for analyzing fringe patterns with varying noise levels and fringe alignments, crucial for high‐precision optical systems pivotal in enhancing the performance and reliability of optical communication systems in advanced 5G networks. The simulation results demonstrate that 2‐D CWT efficiently extracts phase information from complex and highly noisy fringes while requiring less computational time. Furthermore, the algorithm effectively handles noise disturbances with a commendable degree of accuracy, ensuring robust performance in 5G‐enabled optical systems critical for supporting ultra‐high‐speed data transmission and low‐latency communication requirements. This research contributes to optimizing image analysis techniques for 5G optical systems, facilitating their integration into next‐generation communication networks.
Performance analysis of seven level multilevel inverter for power quality improvement S. Nithya Priya, K. C. Ramya International Journal of Applied Power Engineering, 2025 Power conversion systems for demanding applications requiring high power and power quality are increasingly using multi-level converters. Due to its many advantages, such as low harmonic content, low electromagnetic interference (EMI) output, and low power consumption in power switches, the multilayer inverter (MLI) topology is more commonly used in medium and high power applications. The chosen switching technique of the inverter for operation significantly contributes to the suppression of harmonic components while creating the optimal output voltage. A single-phase 7-level cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHB-MLI) with fewer switches and alternative control algorithms is available in MATLAB-based simulation on the SIMULINK platform. In this research, the total harmonic distortion (THD) of several control techniques is compared. From the simulation results, it was found that the proposed artificial neural network (ANN) controller outperforms the proportional-integral (PI) controller. With a lower THD value and a comparatively better sinusoidal waveform, the ANN controller produces an output voltage. It is also more suitable for improving the quality of electricity. The efficiency and performance of the proposed 7-level CHBMI system are demonstrated by the improved sinusoidal output waveform and reduced output voltage THD.
Enhancing the Performance of Free-Space-Optics Transmission System Using Mode-Division-Multiplexing of Hermite–Gaussian and Laguerre–Gaussian Beams K. C. Ramya, M. R. Thiyagupriyadharsan, V. Sivasankaran, Leta Tesfaye Jule, A. Sampathkumar Internet Technology Letters, 2025 Emergence of 5G networks has led to rising demand for high‐speed data networks. Free‐space optics (FSO) play a pivotal role in providing high‐speed large‐capacity secure communication links required for fronthaul/backhaul services in 5G communication networks. Conventional FSO links are based on wavelength division multiplexing which make the system costlier, bulky and spectral‐inefficient. In this work, a mode‐division‐multiplexing‐(MDM)‐enabled‐FSO transmission system is proposed and evaluated to provide cost‐effective, high‐speed, and spectral‐efficient data transmission. Hybrid Hermite–Gaussian (HG) and Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) modes are integrated to enhance the performance of the system. Four independent 10 Gbps data signals are transmitted along 2‐distinct HG beams and 2‐distinct LG beams over the free space channel. The performance evaluated is reported for clear climate and also for adverse rain climate where Quality factor metrics, Bit Error Rate Metrics, and eye diagram representation of the received signals are discussed. The proposed work reports definitive 40 Gbps along 11 km for clear climate followed by 1100–2300 m for varying levels of rain climate.
Efficient OBEO MPPT Controller For PV Under Dynamic and Partial Shading Conditions Ms. C. Pavithra, K. C. Ramya, Joshua M, Madhankumar M, Lakshmi Nivas T R, Midhun K R 2025 IEEE 1st International Conference on Innovations in Engineering and Next Generation Technologies for Sustainability Icinvents 2025, 2025 In recent years, declination of fossil fuel resources and environmental problems growing the demand of renewable energy. Among various renewable assets, increase in performance of solar power has unique enchantment. In PV system, temperature and solar radiations are the two vital factors. Due to variation of those factors it's far important to operate PV device at it's maximum power point. However, the PV system faces numerous problems to tune global maximum peak power (GMPP) as a result of the nonlinear nature of the surroundings mainly due to partial shading conditions (PSC). To remedy these difficulties, previous researchers have utilized diverse conventional techniques for investigations. Nevertheless, these strategies have oscillations across the GMPP. Hence, Opposition-based Equilibrium Optimization (OBEO) algorithm is used on this work for mitigating the oscillations around GMPP. To locate the effectiveness of the proposed technique, it can be evaluated with other technique which include Perturbation and observation (P&O). As per the simulation outcomes the proposed OBEO technique introduces an revolutionary technique to enhance the performance of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers in photovoltaic (PV) structures operating beneath partial shading conditions. Key metrics consisting of tracking velocity, duty cycle, convergence rate, and robustness to partial shading are analyzed to validate the method's effectiveness and achieved the efficiency 95.73 % percentage, with reduced oscillation time of 0.16 ms, ripple factor of 0.1, which is very much improved than other conventional techniques.
