Transforming Rural Landscapes: The Role of Farm Tourism in Haryana's Socio-Economic Development Krishna Kumari, Ritu Yadav, Vinod Kumar Responsible Rural Tourism Multidimensional Aspects of Tourism Based Growth and Development in Rural Areas, 2026 Haryana, known as the “Land of Farmers,” is a pioneering state in farm tourism in India. At various points in time over the years, various aspects of life in Haryana—the social and cultural—have become important tourist attractions, and, nowadays, Agri-tourism is considered a major sector. Haryana, being an agriculture leader, formally announced the Farm Tourism scheme on World Tourism Day on September 27, 2003. This scheme is based on a public-private Partnership model, aimed to promote rural culture and agriculture practices. The government amended this scheme in 2024 for strengthening farm tourism by introducing modern facilities, Agri practices, cooked food, accommodation facilities, and culture performances etc. This paper is an attempt to explore the social and economic impacts of the farm tourism sector in the state of Haryana. For gathering the information, primary data was used along with secondary sources from news articles, journals, research papers, government websites, and social media platforms. Primary data was obtained through interviews with the visitors to the farms of Haryana. Qualitative analysis of data has been done using NVivo software. At the end, this chapter provides implications for policymakers, farm owners, visitors, tourism operators and community members.
Unveiling Neural Mechanisms Behind Consumer Behavior in Virtual Reality Surinder Pal Singh, Vinod Kumar, Hawa Singh, Naveen Kumar Reshaping Business at the Intersection of Neuromarketing and AI, 2026 Virtual Reality (VR) is redefining consumer experiences by offering immersive environments that engage multiple senses. This chapter investigates the neural mechanisms underlying consumer behavior in VR using a neuromarketing approach. Researchers conducted an experimental study combining electroencephalography (EEG) and biometric measures with behavioral data to compare consumers' cognitive and emotional responses in a VR shopping scenario versus a traditional web-based platform. 33 participants completed purchase tasks in both environments while their neural activity and physiological signals were recorded. Results show that VR elicited higher cognitive engagement and memory activation but also induced greater mental workload than the traditional platform. These findings advance our understanding of how immersive virtual experiences affect the consumer's brain and behavior. The chapter highlights the value of consumer neuroscience tools in evaluating emerging marketing technologies and provides guidance for practitioners seeking to leverage VR in enhancing customer experience.
Competitive Biodiversity Conservation Through Entrepreneurial Innovation: A Conceptual Framework Olivier Niyompuhwe, Vinod Kumar, Anmol Gulati, Ram Singh, Deepa Sharma Entrepreneurship and Competitive Sustainability Innovative Approaches, 2026 Global biodiversity is experiencing an unprecedented decline, driven by habitat fragmentation, ecosystem degradation, and anthropogenic pressures, with conservation efforts often falling short of achieving ecosystem integrity targets. While entrepreneurial innovation has emerged as a critical force for addressing climate and sustainability challenges, its potential to tackle biodiversity loss remains underexplored. This study addresses this conceptual and empirical gap by proposing the Biodiversity-Driven Entrepreneurial Innovation Model (BDEIM), a novel framework that integrates biodiversity conservation into the core of entrepreneurial strategy. Drawing upon a multidisciplinary literature review and grounded in theories of ecological capital, stakeholder co-creation, adaptive governance, and blended finance, the model hypothesizes dynamic relationships among nature-based solutions (NbS), organizational capabilities, governance mechanisms, and venture performance. The framework posits that stakeholder co-creation, financial instruments, and dynamic capacities, amplified by adaptive governance and market feedback, catalyze biodiversity-oriented innovation and sustainable performance outcomes. The discussion elaborates on six hypotheses and unpacks mediating and moderating mechanisms using empirical exemplars. Key insights emphasize biodiversity as a strategic resource, NbS as mediators of venture success, and governance–market feedback as performance enablers. The model’s theoretical contributions challenge traditional sustainability frameworks by embedding biodiversity in competitive strategy. Implications are drawn for entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers seeking to align venture innovation with conservation goals. The paper concludes by offering a future research agenda that calls for empirical validation, development of biodiversity metrics, behavioral studies on entrepreneurial cognition, and exploration of digital tools for ecological innovation scaling.
Disrupting the Future and Navigating Ethical Dilemmas: Unintended Consequences of Entrepreneurial Ventures on Sustainable Development Ram Singh, Vinay Pal Singh, Vinod Kumar, Olivier Niyompuhwe, Ankur Mangla Entrepreneurship and Competitive Sustainability Innovative Approaches, 2026 The main reason why entrepreneurship is encouraged by economists is that it is one of the main drivers of economic growth as well as the creation of job opportunities and innovation. Nevertheless, the high rate of entrepreneurial undertakings may also initiate some unwanted effects that compromise the goals of sustainable development. Entrepreneurs face ethical dilemmas in the pursuit of profitable expansion since they must address issues such as overextraction of resources and degradation of the environment alongside economic and social disparity. In this chapter, the extreme aspect of entrepreneurship concerning sustainable development is being examined by researching ethical issues that businesspeople have struggled with. The entrepreneurial enterprises, which drive disruptive change in industries, are also unintentionally damaging both environmental and social systems in the process of their opportunity creation. This part will introduce ways to minimize these unwanted consequences so as to establish SE. The qualitative research method is used, which involves case study evaluations, as well as analysis of the available literature on entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Real-life examples of ethical issues that entrepreneurs have to deal with are given in the form of case studies that represent various industries, such as technology, manufacturing, or agriculture. Moreover, entrepreneurial activities are placed in the sustainability paradigm through the analysis of frameworks such as the triple bottom line and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study identifies that the ethical decisions of entrepreneurs are critically assessed and provides practical ways to balance economic development without harming the social and environmental variables. The working guides established in this chapter give practical rules to pair entrepreneurial activities with sustainable development goals. Business enterprises have a lot of promise as a way of moving forward, but they can also perpetuate unsustainable activities unless care is taken. Addressing these moral dilemmas will require entrepreneurs to transform their leadership of thinking, combined with ensuring that sustainability is central to their core business processes. The chapter enriches the entrepreneurial contributions to sustainable development by focusing on the analysis of sustainability problems and practical solutions. This chapter bridges a critical gap in existing literature by highlighting the darker facets of entrepreneurship and their implications for sustainable development. Unlike traditional studies that focus solely on the benefits of entrepreneurship, this work critically examines its ethical and sustainability challenges, offering a balanced perspective on entrepreneurial impact.
Mapping the Intellectual Landscape of Renewable Energy Entrepreneurship (REE): A Bibliometric Review and Research Agenda Olivier Niyompuhwe, Vinod Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Anmol Gulati, Sumit Mittal Entrepreneurship and Competitive Sustainability Innovative Approaches, 2026 The global shift toward sustainable energy systems has positioned renewable energy entrepreneurship (REE) as a vital force in addressing climate change, energy poverty, and economic inequality. As REE gains momentum across policy, business, and academic domains, a structured synthesis of the field’s evolution is essential. Despite a surge in scholarly output, the literature remains fragmented, lacking clarity on its intellectual foundations, thematic coherence, and future research directions. This study addresses that gap by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis to map the intellectual landscape of REE from 2004 to 2025. Using data from Scopus and employing VOSviewer for visual analytics, 239 peer-reviewed articles were analyzed to examine publication trends, citation dynamics, coauthorship networks, and thematic clusters. The analysis reveals exponential growth in REE research post-2015, driven by increasing global commitments to sustainability. Key themes include business model innovation, sustainability transitions, circular economy, and socio-environmental entrepreneurship. Influential authors such as Geels and Bergek provide foundational insights, while high-impact journals like Energy Policy and Journal of Cleaner Production anchor the discourse. However, critical gaps persist, particularly in digitalization, gender equity, and research from the Global South. By introducing the concept of competitive sustainability, this study advances a framework that links environmental imperatives with commercial viability and inclusivity. The findings not only synthesize the field’s development but also inform a future research agenda that prioritizes interdisciplinary integration and real-world application. The study offers actionable insights for scholars, policymakers, and entrepreneurs committed to driving equitable, innovation-led energy transitions.
Digital Transformation in Supply Chain Management: Unlocking Transparency and Efficiency Olivier Niyompuhwe, Vinod Kumar Digital Transformation of Business World A Managerial Perspective, 2025 Today, where the business landscape is growing faster, cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) have transformed supply chains (SCs), fostering transparency, efficiency, and flexibility. By addressing challenges in conventional models, including poor visibility, inefficiencies, stakeholder mistrust, fragmented procedures, and isolated data, this chapter explores the impact of these technologies on supply chain management (SCM). It argues that integrating these technologies mitigates these drawbacks. This not only enhances robust and transparent SCs but also offers a competitive edge for businesses. Traceability and trust are enhanced through blockchain, which it makes it possible through its immutable and decentralised nature, facilitating reliable and tamper-proof information flow. Case studies highlighted in this chapter illustrate its role in cutting frauds and counterfeiting, ensuring enhanced customer trust and brand integrity. Real-time tracking and monitoring which improves visibility in SCs are made possible by IoT while AI and machine learning facilitate demand fluctuations prediction, routine tasks automation, and decision-making enhancement, which improve efficiency and reduce human error. Implementing these technologies is, however, without challenges despite their significance. Challenges like data security, interoperability, and the organisational transformation need pertain. This chapter presents the role of leadership in enhancing innovation and a culture of continuous learning. It also emphasises collaboration among SC participants, calling for integrated platforms that allow for seamless flow of information and communication. The chapter further underscores the revolutionary potential of digital technologies in SCM, offering insights into a future where businesses can navigate complexities with greater agility, transparency, and efficiency.
