Optimization and Assessment of CoCrFeMnTi High Entropy Alloy: Novel Strategy to Enhance Electrical and Mechanical Characteristics Ravindra S, B Vinod, Mike Dison E, Pasupulati Baburao Proceedings of the 4th IEEE International Conference on Interdisciplinary Approaches in Technology and Management for Social Innovation Iatmsi 2026, 2026 In the recent era of aeronautical and marine engineering, many applications are required to produce heavy components for the industry. In this study, CoCrFeMnTi is chosen as the matrix due to its good plasticity, high ductility, and low-temperature strength. To improve thermal stability, niobium ceramic (NbCx) is used as a reinforcement with varying weight fractions (x =3,6,9%), and was synthesized using the selective laser melting method. The test results showed that increasing the reinforcement content improved mechanical properties and thermal properties. The CoCrFeMnTi with a 6% NbC exhibits high tensile strength and hardness of 983 MPa and 345 MPa, respectively. Meanwhile, adding 6% NbC improved the thermal conductivity and achieved a high thermal resistance suitable for cryogenic applications. Our work will provide a new perspective on utilizing the rapid solidification process of SLM and ceramic material reinforcement to enhance the mechanical properties of HEAs, which have great potential.

Extraction and Performance of Novel Lignocellulose from Agro-Wastes: Synergistic Integration of Waste into Ecofriendly Polymer Composites B Vinod, B.S. Venkatesh Murthy, Velumayil Ramesh, P. Venkataramana Key Engineering Materials, 2025 This research focuses on reusing waste materials to reduce the demand for fresh raw materials, thereby preserving natural resources. This approach also minimizes the energy and greenhouse gas emissions of extracting and manufacturing raw materials. We are developing eco-friendly, versatile polymer composites, aligning with the circular economy movement's goals of promoting sustainable resource utilization and waste minimization through closed-loop product life cycles. This research uses a hybrid polymer reinforced with lignocellulose agro-fibers (LCAF) from vegetable waste residues. Three different agro-wastes, such as orange peels, jute, and palmyra fruit peduncle, have been used. It investigates two phases, initially different fiber ratios from 3 to 12% and varying fiber lengths from 5 to 20 mm in the secondary phase, respectively. The LCAF is obtained through mechanical and chemical pre-treatment to enhance its properties for use in food packaging. The fiber containing 9% LCAF demonstrated a superior hardness and tensile strength of 118 BHN and 63 MPa compared to the polyester matrix. The water absorption improved from 2.03% to 4.76%, depending on the type of raw material and pre-treatment used to produce the LCAFs.
Investigation of Electrical Characteristics and Hot Tensile Deformation Behaviour: Novel Assessment of Similar Joints by FSW technique K. Sai Sujith, S. Ravi, B. Vinod, Baburao Pasupuleti 2025 8th International Conference on Circuit Power and Computing Technologies Iccpct 2025, 2025 Recently, there has been a significant demand for smart metals in various manufacturing sectors, especially within the nuclear industry, where they are preferred for their efficiency as external shield packaging. A study was carried out to examine the hot deformation behaviors of Ti6321 and SS 310 using hot tensile tests conducted at varying temperatures ($300,350,400^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$) and strain rates (0.01,0.1, and $1 \mathrm{~s}^{-1}$). The study used consecutive equations to examine the effect of stress, strain rate, and temperature. The findings indicated that the flow stress of similar joints diminishes with increased deformation temperatures and reduced strain rates. The Johnson-Cook model effectively represents the thermal flow characteristics of the test alloy, which, after being deformed at $400^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$, exhibits ductility, including elongated grain structures and a high concentration of deep cavities. A high-density dislocation structure was noted due to plastic deformation, with dislocation annihilation becoming more pronounced at elevated temperatures. The similar TiTi 6321 weld joint exhibits improved electrical resistance, and the resistivity of axis $\mathbf{I}$ is $\mathbf{6. 6 7} \times \mathbf{1 0 - 5}$ and $\mathbf{3. 1 9} \times \mathbf{1 0 - 8}$ with a high percentage of 74.66% compared to other welded joints. Additionally, precipitates were observed in the alloy following high-temperature testing.
Wear behaviour and coating performance of WC–Cu composite electrodes on ZE41A magnesium alloy using electrospark deposition U. Elaiyarasan, P. Baranitharan, V. Satheeshkumar, C. Senthilkumar, B. Vinod Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly, 2025 Magnesium alloys, being relatively softer than other structural metal, has lower hardness and is prone to wear under abrasive and frictional conditions. To enhance their wear and abrasion resistance, tungsten carbide-copper (WC-Cu) composite coating was developed on ZE41A magnesium alloy using electro-spark deposition (ESD). The composite electrodes, with combinations of 50:50 and 70:30 was prepared using powder metallurgy. ESD parameters, including spark current (SC), pulse-on time (Ton) and pulse-off time (Toff) were selected for coating. Wear behaviour was evaluated using pin-on-disc tribometer under varying sliding parameters; applied load (20N–40N), sliding speed (150 rpm–350 rpm), and sliding time (5 min–9 min). The WC70:Cu30 electrode coating exhibited the highest CR of 0.00298 gm/min and maximum layer thickness of 92.12 μm, attributed to thermal conductivity of tungsten. EDS analysis confirmed higher deposition of Cu (18.68%) and WC (3.58%) in the WC70:Cu30 coating compared to WC50:Cu50, which showed Cu (11.33%) and WC (3.06%). The lowest WR of 0.000185 mm3/min was achieved with the WC70:Cu30 coating due to higher WC deposition. SEM analysis revealed wear mechanisms such as scratch, delamination, grooves, and adhesive wear. The WC70:Cu30 composite electrode improved performance with higher CR and lower WR compared to WC50:Cu50.
Enhancing Structural Analysis and Tensile Properties of HDPE Composites Incorporating Glass Micro-balloons and Crumb Rubber Fillers B. B. Ganesha, B. Vinod, H. Shivaprasad, S. Puneeth, N. Manjunath Advances in Mechanical Engineering and Material Sciences, 2025 This paper presents an investigation of the mechanical properties and structural analysis of composites fabricated using glass micro-balloons, crumb-rubber fillers and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The focus of this study is to explore the synergistic effects of these components on the tensile behaviour of the resulting composite material. The composite samples were prepared by incorporating varying proportions of glass micro balloons and crumb rubber filler into the HDPE matrix. Tensile tests were conducted on the composite samples to evaluate their mechanical properties, containing stress-strain performance, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and extension at break. Additionally, finite element analysis (FEA) was performed to simulate and visualize the stress distribution and deformation patterns within the composite material. The results revealed that the addition of glass micro balloons enhanced the stiffness and strength of the composite, leading to improved mechanical properties. Furthermore, the incorporation of crumb rubber filler contributed to increased flexibility, impact resistance, and vibration damping capabilities of the composite. The experimental findings were gotten to be in good accord with the FEA results, validating the accuracy and reliability of the simulation.
