Analysis of dry sliding wear behaviour of AA-7068/TiC MMCs Poppathi Naresh, Syed Altaf Hussain, Bandaru Durga Prasad International Journal of Materials Engineering Innovation, 2020 This paper presents the influence of sliding velocity, applied load rotational speed on wear behaviour of AA-7068 alloy is used as a matrix material and reinforced with Titanium Carbide (TiC). The MMCs was developed by stir casting technique, with various weight fraction of reinforcement varied from 0 to 10 wt. % and the test specimens were prepared as per ASTM standards. The wear behaviour was investigated by performing dry sliding test on pin-on-disc tester. Experiments are planned and conducted as per central composite design (CCD). The micro structural analysis was carried out using SEM, EDX and XRD analysis, which revealed fairly uniform distribution of reinforcement in a matrix. The experimental results reveal that the rotational speed has the highest influence followed by applied load on wear. MMC with 6 wt. % of TiC composite has low wear than that of other composite systems considered in this investigation.
Optimization of cutting force in turning of AA 7068/TiC MMCs using taguchi technique P. Naresh, S. Hussain, B. Prasad International Journal of Innovative Technology and Exploring Engineering, 2019 Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) are widely used in variety of engineering applications. The usage of aluminium based composites in modern automobile and aerospace sectors is enormous due to superior Mechanical properties as compared to other materials. In this investigation Taguchi and Response surface methodologies have been used to minimize the cutting force in turning of AA7068/TiC MMCs. The experiments are planned and executed according to central composite design technique on all geared lathe machine using TiCN-Al2O3 tool insert (KCP05). The process parameters used are wt. % of TiC, cutting speed, feed and depth of cut. The objective of this experiment is to optimize the process parameters and evaluate the effect of process parameters. A second-order mathematical predictive model has developed between the process parameters & cutting force based on response surface methodology (RSM). The conclusions of this experiment is give that the most influenced process parameter for cutting force is depth of cut (d) and is followed by wt.% of TiC. Precision is observed between the predicted values and experimental results; therefore, the evaluated model is fit to predict the cutting force in machining of AMMCs.

Prasad Journal of Achievements in Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, 2017 Purpose: In this paper the Metal Matrix Composites of AL 7068 and TiC with differentproportions of (2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%) by using stir casting process, mechanicalproperties and machining responses are investigating.Design/methodology/approach: The samples are fabricated using stir casting, machiningof turning the samples by using Kilster Tool Lathe Dynamometer machining responses wereidentifying.Findings: In this research to find mechanical characterizations like flexural strength, Wearratio, impact strength, hardness, microstructure and also machining responses like surfaceroughness, cutting force, cutting power, tool wear ratio and can be optimized by multipleresponses.Research limitations/implications: This paper research about the mechanicalcharacterization and machining of AL-7068&TiC that focuses on machining responses andmicrostructures.Originality/value: By surveying the research articles the gap will be identified inAA-7068&TiC depended on machining responses and mechanical characterizations.
