A Benchmarking Model for HRM Elements of Large Mining Industry: ISM-Based Approach Sonali Khatua, Manoranjan Dash, Padma Charan Mishra, Manoj Kumar Mohanty South Asian Journal of Human Resources Management, 2026 While human resource management (HRM) elements concerning the expansive mining industry have been acknowledged, they still need to be explored. This paper presents a novel and strategic endeavour to construct a benchmark model linking HRM elements specific to the large mining industry. Drawing from an extensive literature review, crucial HRM elements pertinent to the mineral industry are systematically identified and thoroughly examined. The study utilises the interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique within the context of major Indian mining industries to unveil latent relationships among these HRM-related elements. Through six-phased interactions, a foundational model is established, illuminating these relationships. The findings are poised to positively impact the mining industry, contributing to enhanced system sustainability. Furthermore, this paper represents a pioneering effort as the first research to elucidate the relationship model of HRM elements within the mining industry. It encourages HRM researchers to delve further into the mining industry to address its challenges. This research serves as a foundational study and provides a platform for further investigations by HRM experts, researchers and field personnel, enabling a multifaceted exploration of HRM perspectives.
Effectiveness of Fluoride Treatments in Remineralizing Early Non-Cavitated Carious Lesions: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Jasmine Marwaha, Sindhoori Goud, Manoranjan Dash, Preeti Y Shadangi, Ashtha Arya, Aafreen Smriti Minz Bangladesh Journal of Medical Science, 2026 Dental caries affects billions globally, with early non-cavitated lesions being reversible through fluoride remineralization. Despite extensive research, optimal fluoride protocols remain debated. This analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of fluoride treatments in remineralizing early caries and compare delivery methods, concentrations, and frequencies. This PRISMAcompliant systematic review included 12 RCTs and controlled trials (n=11,701 observations) from seven databases. Studies were assessed using ROB2/ROBINS-E tools, with metaanalyses conducted via random-effects models. Subgroup analyses explored fluoride types, concentrations, and follow-up durations. Highconcentration fluoride varnishes (≥5,000 ppm) showed the largest effects (ES=1.12, 95%CI: 0.88–1.36), while daily toothpastes (1,000–4,999 ppm) had more modest but consistent results (ES=0.93, 95%CI: 0.72–1.14). Network metaanalysis revealed a non-linear dose-response, with diminishing returns above 10,000 ppm. Professional applications every 3–6 months, combined with daily home care, emerged as the optimal regimen. Heterogeneity was substantial (I²=74.09%) but explained by concentration differences (27.12% variance). Fluoride effectively remineralizes early caries, with highconcentration professional treatments yielding superior outcomes. A combined approach of periodic in-office varnishes and daily toothpaste is recommended for comprehensive caries management. Bangladesh Journal of Medical Science Vol. 25. Smart technologies for infection control and antimicrobial stewardship in critical care settings: A narrative review Siddhant Saswat, Sanghamitra Mishra, Sasmita Mohanty, Manoranjan Dash, Bhagyashree Mohanty, Anasuya Priyadarshini Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Journal, 2026 Background: Infection control and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) remain major challenges in intensive care units (ICUs), driven by delayed diagnostics, extensive empirical antimicrobial use, and escalating antimicrobial resistance. Conventional microbiology-based approaches are often slow and resource-intensive, highlighting the need for adaptive, data-driven solutions. This narrative review synthesises current evidence on the application of smart technologies-artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), the internet of things (IoT), and telemedicine to enhance infection prevention, early diagnosis, and antimicrobial optimisation in critical care. Methods: A narrative review of 30 peer-reviewed publications was conducted, including original studies, reviews, case studies, and policy reports published between 2020 and 2025. Literature was retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with additional targeted searches focusing on digital stewardship frameworks and ICU-based technological applications. Studies addressing AI, ML, IoT, or telemedicine-enabled infection control or AMS in critical care settings were included. Results: AI and ML models showed strong performance in predicting sepsis, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and multidrug-resistant organism risk, with several studies reporting area under the receiver operating characteristic curve values exceeding 0.80 despite methodological heterogeneity and predominantly retrospective designs . IoT-based systems-such as wearable sensors, smart environmental monitoring, and automated surveillance-enabled real-time physiological and environmental data capture, improving early detection and compliance monitoring. Telemedicine platforms expanded access to infectious disease expertise and AMS services, improving antimicrobial prescribing quality. Digital stewardship tools enhanced prescribing appropriateness and workflow efficiency. Key challenges included data interoperability, cybersecurity, limited model explainability, and scarce multi-centre validation. Conclusion: By facilitating early detection and enhancing antimicrobial decision-making, smart technologies hold great promise for improving AMS in ICUs.
Linking physical activity and mental health: Meta analysis of school-based interventions in children Devi Prasad, Vinodhini Chinnaswamy, Manoranjan Dash, B. Madhana, Ravi Kumar, Abhishek Singla Multidisciplinary Reviews, 2025 Significant issues with low stages of physical activity, sedentary behavior, and mental health illnesses have been identified throughout the past decade. The objective of this meta-analysis and systematic review is to assess the impact of treatments on the mental health of children and teens that target inactive or physically inactive behavior at school. Studies focusing on the broad demographics of children and teens between the ages of 5 and 20 years were eligible for inclusion as long as they addressed a variety of school-related initiatives to encourage exercise or discourage sedentary behavior. A total of 5,122 distinct studies were found in the literature search, and 13 publications reporting 13 treatments were eventually included in the review. The results showed that programs for physical exercise at school had a substantial favorable impact on resilience. Treatments that encourage physical exercise at school reduce anxiety, increase resilience, promote health, and enhance psychological well-being. The variability of the research necessitates caution. For better comprehension, future studies should offer specific operational data.
ICT in Public Extension: Constraints and Suggestions Through the Lens of Extension Functionaries Sweta Sahoo, Bibudha Parasar, Manoranjan Dash, Gbenga Akomolafe Agricultural Science Digest, 2025 Background: Information and communication technology being one of the key drivers in present agricultural system. Whilst public extension system play a pivotal role to bridge between the research and the roots, it is paramount for its functionaries to be well versed with latest development and stay upto date with every new means and ways of information dissemination. Methods: The study was conducted in Bhadrak, Balasore, Cuttack and Jajpur districts of Odisha to determine the constraints impairing extension functionaries while using ICT in agriculture. Purposive sampling was used for selection of the districts and all the agricultural extension functionaries like CDAO, ADO, BAO, AAO, BTM and ATM were selected total adding up to 248 respondents. A pre-tested interview schedule was prepared and data was collected using interview method. Garrett’s ranking technique was performed to analyse the challenges as perceived by officials under technological, organisational, capacity-related, socio-psychological and infrastructural dimensions. Result: Lack of technical assistance for troubleshooting was the most urgent limitation among the technological issues,in organizational front biggest restriction (Rank 1) was the low priority given to ICT skill enhancement, inadequate training in ICT use is the most severe limitation in terms of capacity-related constraints, fear of making mistakes when using ICT was the most prevalent socio-psychological limitation, the most important constraint on the infrastructural front was determined to be a lack of infrastructure with a Mean Garrett Score of 66.14, 58.50, 60.47, 59.66 and 54.21 respectively. Suggestions as perceived by the respondents in order to increase the utilisation of ICT’s included Regular hands-on training on emerging ICT tools and digital platforms, refresher courses to keep up with rapid technological changes, setting up ICT resource centres at block and district levels etc.All these constraints and suggestions could be analysed by stakeholders for making extension functionaries run at par with the global extensionists and create a sustainable and robust farming community.
