How can educational policy support the application of the Rasch Model for character E-assessment in elementary schools during Indonesia's new normal era? Iva Sarifah, Nina Nurhasanah, Uswatun Hasanah, Arita Marini, Uyu Muawanah Social Sciences and Humanities Open, 2025 The development of character education among elementary school-age children warrants significant attention, as this stage serves as the foundational period for cultivating character. This study focuses on creating an assessment instrument for character that aligns with the profile of Pancasila students. The research involved 575 respondents from grades IV, V, and VI in the DKI Jakarta area. Through a survey method, the study aimed to gauge the character values of these students. The findings indicate that the majority of the character development among the respondents falls within the moderate range. This suggests that there is a critical need for ongoing efforts to embed character education within both curricular and non-curricular activities. To analyze the data effectively, the Rasch Model was employed, demonstrating its capability to evaluate students' character through polytomous data and parametric statistical testing. The Rasch Model proves to be a relevant and effective tool for establishing the relationship between an individual's abilities and the corresponding item difficulty levels. This approach not only enhances the understanding of character development in students but also provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers seeking to improve character education initiatives in Indonesia. By aligning educational practices with the Pancasila student profile, this study contributes to the broader goal of fostering well-rounded, morally grounded individuals in society.
EXPLORE THE NEEDS OF COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR PROSPECTIVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS BASED ON KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN INDONESIA Herlina Usman, Gusti Yarmi, Iva Sarifah, Uswatun Hasanah, Prayuningtyas Angger Wardhani, Widya Karmila Sari, Otto Fajarianto Revista De Gestao Social E Ambiental, 2024 Background: This research aims to analyze gaps and potential needs for competency development models for prospective elementary school teachers. The research subjects were 180 prospective teachers spread across the Padang, Makassar, and DKI Jakarta areas. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD), which were then analyzed based on the priority order of needs. The results of the research show that there is a real gap in the competency of primary school teacher candidates, the largest is in mission/purpose competency with a score of 2.6 out of an ideal score of 5, the average competency gap is in continuous learning competency with a score of 3.3 out of an ideal score of 5, and the smallest gap is in building positive relationships with a score of 4.17 from the ideal score of 5. Based on the results of the gap analysis, a competency development model for prospective elementary school teachers is needed by the priority gap sequence. This model is an integrated knowledge system containing ten prospective teacher competencies which will be a provision in strengthening four teacher competencies, namely pedagogic competency, personality competency, social competency, and professional competency. Thus, this model can be recommended for prospective teachers in Indonesia to improve the competency of prospective elementary school teachers before entering the real world of work. Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the competency development of prospective elementary school teachers in Indonesia. The aim of the research is to develop a competency development model for these teachers, focusing on ten key competencies such as building positive working relationships, coaching, continuous learning, ethical maturity, and mission/purpose. The main purpose of the research is to produce professional and competitive teachers who can contribute to the progress of education in Indonesia and support the government’s efforts to strengthen teacher competencies in the country. Ultimately, the study aims to improve the quality of education and human resources in Indonesia by preparing future teachers with the necessary competencies to shape the next generation. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework of the text revolves around the development of a competency development model for prospective elementary school teachers in Indonesia. The model is based on the concept of ten competencies that prospective teachers should possess, including building positive working relationships, coaching, continuous learning, and ethical maturity. These competencies are essential for strengthening four main teacher competencies: pedagogical, personal, social, and professional. The model aims to prepare future teachers to excel in their roles by instilling these competencies early on and providing training programs to enhance them further. The research methodology involves studying the competency of prospective teachers in three regions and developing a model that supports the formation of character profiles for students in Indonesia. The model is designed to contribute to the progress of education in Indonesia and align with the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Education and Culture for 2020-2024. Second, semi-structured interviews with 10 teachers to obtain direct and valid information. This research focuses on certain aspects, namely 1) Types of media commonly used. 2) Classification of material that is difficult for students to understand, 3) teachers' perceptions about the need for using science learning multimedia to support science learning and 4) teachers' perceptions about the need for using science learning multimedia to support students' critical thinking. Data were examined using quantitative and qualitative methods. In addition, interview analysis resulted in emerging themes related to several conditions raised by teachers to use SLM effectively. These conditions include 1) SLM material, 2) SLM interactivity, 3) ease of use, 4) and the approach used. Findings show that most teachers agree to develop effective and flexible media in exploring abstract science concepts so that students' critical thinking skills increase. This SLM also needs to pay attention to the above conditions. In conclusion, interactive multimedia based on scientific inquiry in science learning is feasible to be developed and applied in the teaching and learning process. This research can also be a reference and input for educators, especially elementary school teachers in creating models and learning media that are active and fun.
STUDENTS’ DISTANCE LEARNING COPING STRATEGIES: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SDG NUMBER 4 Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development, 2022 During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government had implemented a policy which changed face-to-face learning to distance learning. However, there is still a need for teachers to optimize the quality of students' education. This goal is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number four, namely quality education. By getting a quality education, people can break the chain of poverty. Through education, inequality can be reduced, and people can be empowered to live more sustainably and healthily. The purpose of this research was to analyse students' coping strategies during distance learning. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research was conducted in Jakarta from May to June 2021. The population was Universitas Negeri Jakarta students. The sample was selected using a cluster sampling technique of as many as 211 students. Data collection uses a coping strategy scale consisting of 39 items derived from the dimensions of problem-focused coping, emotional-focused coping, and seeking social support. The t-value of 0.110 with sig 0.913 > 0.05 shows no significant difference in average coping strategies between female and male respondents. The ANOVA revealed F-value of 0.329 with sig. 0.805 > 0.05, which means there is no significant difference in the average coping strategy of respondents based on birth order. The results of the analysis showed that the students' coping strategies were in the high category. Over time, students can adapt to the learning techniques used in the classroom. The problem-focused coping dimension has the highest average value, so this research concludes that students focus on dealing with the problem when faced with one. Students try to analyse the causes of the problems they face, plan steps to deal with problems, and make efforts to change the situation carefully. There is no difference in the average value of female and male students' coping strategies. Students are more dominant in using problem-focused coping as an effort to deal with stress when implementing distance learning. Students must be able to overcome their problems with appropriate coping strategies to achieve quality learning in education.

Development of Prediction System for Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Production with Time Series Data Mining Approach Achmad Solichin, Uswatun Hasanah, Jayanta Proceedings 2nd International Conference on Informatics Multimedia Cyber and Information System Icimcis 2020, 2020 Palm oil is a plantation commodity that snowballs when compared to other plantation crops such as coffee or cocoa. The Indonesian palm oil industry has a comparative advantage in the form of a large area of land and the lowest production cost of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) in the world. Indonesia's palm oil production in August 2019 recorded an increase of 14% over the same period in 2018. However, the amount of Indonesia's CPO production can still be optimized and increased. The amount of CPO production is very dependent on several factors, such as weather conditions, land area, and the number of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB). To help the Palm Oil Mill (POM), this study compares three data mining algorithms to predict the amount of CPO production based on the number of FFBs. The algorithms being compared are multilayer perceptron (MLP), support vector regression (SVR), and linear regression (LR). Based on test results using test data from a palm oil company in Indonesia, the SVR algorithm can provide higher accuracy than the other two algorithms. The SVR gets a PTA value of 0.694, MSE of 955.002, MAPE of 55.169, and MAD of 22.227. Then, we developed a prototype that applied the SVR algorithm to predict the amount of CPO production. The SQA test results on the prototype resulted in 80.225 software quality in the good category.
