    With the fast adoption of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, ensuring power system reliability requires accurate short-term forecasting of generation output. This paper investigates the application of AI-based modelsincluding ensemble and deep learning techniques for predicting renewable energy generation. The models examined comprises of Linear Regression, Random Forest, LSTM, GRU, and a hybrid CNN-LSTM framework. Using historical meteorological and power generation data, we evaluated each model's accuracy with parameters like RMSE, MAE, and R<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup>. The results show that hybrid deep learning models, i.e. CNN-LSTM, performs better than traditional methods. They effectively model nonlinear and time-related patterns in weather-influenced data. These findings show the promise of hybrid AI frameworks in supporting dependable and efficient renewable energy integration for smart grid systems.

  • Development of an Intelligent Loan Eligibility Prediction Model with Integrated Scholarship

    This study introduces a smart loan eligibility prediction model that not only assesses an applicant's chances of loan approval but also incorporates an evaluation for scholarship assistance based on socioeconomic status and income levels. The proposed system integrates a scholarship assessment component to support economically disadvantaged individuals, while applying various supervised machine learning algorithms to predict loan approval outcomes. Experimental analysis on the dataset revealed that Logistic Regression and Random Forest models achieved the highest performance, delivering an accuracy of 84.55% and a precision of 91%. These results outperformed other classifiers, including Support Vector Machines, Decision Trees, Naïve Bayes, and XGBoost. By combining financial aid assessment with credit evaluation, the framework promotes inclusive access to financial services and helps institutions make socially responsible lending decisions.

    The increasing need for sustainable energy solutions has driven research into hybrid energy systems, particularly those leveraging solar and wind energy. This study proposes an optimized hybrid energy system employing machine learning to enhance efficiency and predictability in renewable energy production and distribution. The integration of advanced algorithms and real-time data analytics ensures improved performance and reduces dependence on fossil fuels, addressing pressing climate change concerns. Machine learning models not only optimize energy allocation but also predict system behaviour under varying conditions, ensuring robustness and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • A Systematic Approach to Simulate a Fundamental Model of an Electric Vehicle in MATLAB Environment

    Integration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in modern power system is inevitable. The rapid growth in the sector has pushed the engineers and scientists to go deep in the field and develop more competitive and economical models. The understanding of fundamental mathematical proto-type with vehicle dynamics provides a basic building block to develop more efficient models. An effort has been made in this paper to demonstrate fundamental modelling of an EV in MATLAB environment. The demonstrated MATLAB model comprehensively provides understanding of an EV. It simulates key components such as the electric motor, battery and vehicle dynamics.

    Economic allocation of prevalent demand among participating generators is an important aspect for power engineers. It’s a complex optimization problem which involves several constraints to be met at the same time. In this paper the problem of economic load dispatch is investigated for IEEE three generating units. Particle Swarm Optimization technique with time varying acceleration coefficients (PSO-Tvac) is taken as the solution methodology and results are compared with Classical Particle Swarm Optimization (CPSO) and other methods implemented on the same test case. Further, modelling has been done for the inclusion of PV based solar generation and wind generation with conventional thermal generation. The saving in fuel cost/day is also reported for the case undertaken. The entire work has been done in MATLAB environment. The results show that PSO and its variants are effective in solving non- linear convex ELD problem.
