Mechanical properties of CO2laser beam butt-welded plates of Hastelloy c-276 Harinadh Vemanaboina, Krishnamohan Reddy Kunduru, Panchagnula Kishore Kumar, R Raman Goud, G Harinath Gowd Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Part E Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering, 2026 In the current investigation, thermo-mechanical analysis is carried out for Hastelloy C-276 using laser beam welded butt joints. The Gaussian heat source model is used for transient thermal analysis, and the maximum temperature at the weld area resulted in residual stresses within safe limits. To validate, the experimentation was carried out with CO2 Laser beam welding using an L4 orthogonal array. Sample 2 had the least-residual stresses in the weldment, and the mechanical and metallurgical properties studies were carried out. The residual stress distribution was measured using X-ray diffraction and was acceptable within the yield limits of the material. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and experimental residual stresses were compared; the FOS was 2.088, and the remaining samples were more than 2.0 compared to the base material tensile strength. Tensile tests confirmed that the strength of the weld zone is higher than that of the parent metals.
Experimental research of a diesel engine driven in dual fuel mode with Acacia biodiesel P Jaya Prakash, G Harinath Gowd, Peram Laxmireddy, K Ch Gnana Prakasam, Harinadh Vemanaboina, Prabhu Paramasivam, Leliso Hobicho Dabelo International Journal of Low Carbon Technologies, 2026 The present study examines the performance, combustion, and emission characteristics of a single-cylinder diesel engine operating in dual-fuel mode using 100% Acacia biodiesel with hydrogen (H₂) induction at 5%, 10%, and 15% energy shares. Experiments were conducted at 1500 rpm under varying loads. Results show that H₂ enhances combustion by improving flame speed and mixture homogeneity. At 15% H₂ share, brake thermal efficiency increased by 13.04% and brake specific energy consumption decreased by 26.31%, while CO, HC, and smoke emissions were reduced. However, NOx emissions increased due to higher in-cylinder temperatures, indicating a trade-off between efficiency and NOx formation.
Thermal–Solutal Dynamics Between Rotating Disks in Bio-Stabilised ZnO Hybrid Nanofluids: Coupled FEM and Neural Network Analysis Kotike Jyothi, Vikram Maditham, Ganapati Ramavat, Harinadh Vemanaboina, M.V.V.P. Kantipudi International Journal of Heat and Technology, 2025 The paper is based on the demand for sustainable and high-performance thermal fluids through the analysis of the properties of heat and mass transfer of a green hybrid nanofluid, Aloe vera extract-stabilised ZnO nanoparticles in water, operating between two coaxial parallel rotating disks. Those two nonlinear governing equations coupled with magnetohydrodynamic terms and thermal radiation ones are solved numerically by the Galerkin-based finite element method (FEM) with the use of Mathematica. The modified mixture models are developed to take into consideration the effects of bio-surfactant stabilisation on the effective thermophysical properties. To further elaborate on the numerical simulations, a feedforward artificial neural network that has been trained on the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm in MATLAB is created to extrapolate the wall shear stress, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number to a variety of nanoparticle concentrations, magnetic field intensities, and disk rotation rates. The findings indicate that there is strong transport asymmetry between the disks: The rise in angular velocity substantially improves the heat transfer and inhibits the solutal boundary layer in the upper disk and the mass transfer in the lower disk is stronger in the lower disk as a result of the momentum confinement.Enhancement of heat transfer is mostly conditioned by the nanoparticle loading in the upper disk, but the mass transfer enhancement is prevalent in the lower disk. The ANN surrogate has strong predictive capability, well able to capture disk-specific transport behaviour, and can be used to provide a parametric evaluation quickly. These results demonstrate the possibility of Aloe vera-ZnO/water nanofluids as a thermal working fluid that is environmentally friendly and can be used in rotating machinery, bioreactors, and disk-based heat and mass transfer.
Precision biochar yield forecasting employing random forest and XGBoost with Taylor diagram visualization Sudhakar Uppalapati, Prabhu Paramasivam, Naveen Kilari, Jasgurpreet Singh Chohan, Praveen Kumar Kanti, Harinadh Vemanaboina, Leliso Hobicho Dabelo, Rupesh Gupta Scientific Reports, 2025 Waste-to-energy conversion via pyrolysis has attracted increasing attention recently owing to its multiple uses. Among the products of this process, biochar stands out for its versatility, with its yield influenced by various factors. Extensive and labor-intensive experimental testing is sometimes necessary to properly grasp the output distribution from various feedstocks. Nonetheless, data-driven predictive models using large-scale historical experiment records can provide insightful analysis of projected yields from a variety of biomass materials, hence overcoming the challenges of empirical modeling. As such, five modern approaches available in modern machine learning are employed in this study to develop the biochar yield prediction models. The Lasso regression, Tweedie regression, random forest, XGBoost, and Gradient boosting regression were employed. Out of these five XGBoost was superior with a training mean squared error (MSE) of 1.17 and a test MSE of 2.94. The XGBoost-based biochar yield model shows excellent performance with a strong predictive accuracy of the R2 values as 0.9739 (training) and 0.8875 (test). The mean absolute percentage error value was only 2.14% in the training phase and 3.8% in the testing phase. Precision prognostic technologies have broad effects on sectors including biomass logistics, conversion technologies, and effective biomass utilization as renewable energy. Leveraging SHAP based on cooperative game theory, the study shows that while ash and moisture lower biochar yield, FPT, nitrogen, and carbon content significantly boost it. Small variables like heating rate and volatile matter have a secondary impact on production efficiency.
