Rule of law and access to justice with special reference to encounter killings Vandini Sharma, Manika Kamthan, Gunjan Shyam Deshpande Rule of Law in Context Globalisation and Indian Resonances to Sustainable Development, 2025 The Rule of Law (ROL) guarantees fairness, equality, and justice by ensuring that everyone follows the same laws, regardless of their position of power. However, justice and maintaining the ROL have become a growing concern, especially in cases of encounter killings. This is because they violate human rights and undermine the principles of the ROL. Despite this, the legal system often fails to provide justice to victims and their families. To uphold justice and the ROL, it is essential to address the issue of encounter killings and ensure access to justice, such as impartial investigations, specialised courts, and holding law enforcement officers accountable. This article examines access to justice and the rule of law in India and Norway along with the UN’s Principles and Guidelines on Access to Legal Aid in Criminal Justice Systems, 2013 and other International Legal Instruments. The article intends to suggest the improvements that can be accommodated in the Indian legal system to ensure access to justice in the context of encounter killing.
AI-Based Cognitive Twin Models for Software-Defined IoT Security and Analytics Raj kumar Gupta, Gulshan Dhasmana, T. Lalitha, Vengalapudi Appalakonda, Chintan Thacker, Gunjan Deshpande 4th IEEE International Conference on Mobile Networks and Wireless Communications Icmnwc 2024, 2024 The rise of Software-Defined Internet of Things (SD-IoT) systems has introduced new challenges in managing security and analytics due to the complexity and heterogeneity of connected devices. Traditional methods struggle to adapt in real-time to evolving threats and performance requirements. This paper presents an AI-Based Cognitive Twin Model tailored for SD-IoT environments, designed to enhance both security and analytics capabilities. By creating a digital replica of the IoT ecosystem, the cognitive twin continuously monitors, analyzes, and adapts to system changes. Leveraging machine learning and anomaly detection, it proactively identifies security risks and optimizes system performance through real-time analytics. Experimental results demonstrate that the cognitive twin model achieves a 35% improvement in threat detection accuracy and reduces false positive rates by 20% compared to traditional rule-based approaches. Additionally, the system's adaptability results in a 25% increase in response speed to emerging threats and a 30% improvement in predictive maintenance scheduling accuracy, minimizing device downtime. This AI-powered cognitive twin model offers a robust and adaptive solution for enhancing security and analytics in SD-IoT systems, making it suitable for dynamic environments requiring resilient and scalable monitoring frameworks.
