Karen de Jesus Nicácio has graduation at Química from Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (2006-2010), master's at Chemistry from Universidade de São Paulo (2010-2012) and doctorate at Chemistry from Universidade de São Paulo (2013-2017) focused on Marine Natural Products Chemistry. The master's and doctorate were carried out with funding from a CAPES scholarship, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Roberto Gomes de Souza Berlinck. After her doctorate, she worked on the Cristália Produtos Químicos e Farmacêuticos group in partnership with the University of São Paulo and worked as a substitute professor at the Federal Institute of São Paulo. Worked as a substitute professor and post-doc researcher at Unifal-MG, under the supervision of Professor Daniela Aparecida Chagas Paula. Currently, she acts as a professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso - UFMT, Cuiabá campus
