An Interactive Mobile Application to Enhance Travel Planning Using a User-Centric Approach: A UX Design Case Study Avishkar Nikam, Indresh Kumar Verma, Pranita Ranade International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies, 2025 With the rise of digital platforms, planning and managing travel has become more difficult because many users still have trouble figuring out how to use all the different tools available to them. This study aims to design a mobile-phone-based application that simplifies and enhances the process of international travel and reduces the difficulties faced by the user due to the use of a variety of tools for international trips. A systematic methodology, starting with a literature review followed by in-person interviews with 30 participants to find out their pain points, was used in this study, which used both qualitative and quantitative methods. A competitive analysis of leading travel apps was also conducted to benchmark missing features and opportunities. Fifty participants then took part in usability testing to see how well the prototype worked. The system usability scale (SUS) and a retrospective think-aloud technique were both used to measure how users interacted with the system. The usability testing showed that overall user experience was favorable, with an average SUS score of 87.23, which means the usability was great. A study of the competitors’ products revealed that the current ones did not have features such as integrated maps, route planning, and real-time weather-based suggestions for customizing itineraries. In the survey of user satisfaction, 82% of people said they were very satisfied with the app’s easy-to-use interface and personalized travel suggestions. However, some people said the method for suggesting trips could be improved. Based on the results, it looks like the proposed app could make planning international trips easier. But better in-app navigation and adding onboarding guidelines for older users could make them even happier. Future work will focus on fixing these problems and getting more people to use it so that it can be used by more people.
Augmented Reality Retail Solution for Enhanced Shopping Experiences: Design Intervention for Retail Industry † Samrraj Chaudary, Pranita Ranade, Indresh Kumar Verma Engineering Proceedings, 2024 India’s retail industry has grown and seen significant progress over the past few years. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a move towards e-commerce convenience, which has changed how people shop, and retailers still need to adapt. The current practices of traditional retail are more retailer-centric and limited to in-store shopping, causing dissatisfaction among customers. Current issues include the absence of personalized suggestions, difficulties related to in-store buying such as product trials, overwhelming product options, limited community involvement, geographical limitations, and other issues. This study addresses retail customers’ challenges and highlights the need for a design intervention to enhance the overall retail shopping experience. This study aims to propose an innovative omnichannel retail solution that can be tailored to specific locations and users’ needs, leading to overall customer satisfaction. Modern technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) have a huge role in the proposed solution. The proposed AR Retail solution can potentially affect millions of people, including customers, retailers, influencers, and industry experts. As a result, this will help businesses make more revenue and serve customers by enhancing their retail shopping experiences.
Managing Deadstock in the Fashion and Apparel Industry: An Exploration of Causes, Solutions and Technological Interventions † Arnab Kamal Banikya, Pranita Ranade, Indresh Kumar Verma Engineering Proceedings, 2024 The fashion and apparel (FA) industry faces a critical challenge in the form of deadstock. There are various causes for deadstock, and some may be traced to supply chain and inventory management inefficiency. This research paper aims to understand the issue of deadstock, its root causes, its implications for business and strategies to mitigate it. This paper also aims to investigate the potential of adopting artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and data analytics to reduce the issue of deadstock. This research paper uses a systematic bibliographic literature review of the relevant literature in this subject area. In conclusion, this research paper aims to comprehensively study deadstock in the FA industry. It highlights the potential of using AI, ML and data analytics in supply chain management (SCM) to increase efficiency and mitigate the deadstock issue. There is, however, a lack of sufficient research papers that focus on deadstock in the FA industry and strategies and technological interventions to overcome it. Therefore, this research paper aims to serve as an overview that can be beneficial for researchers, business stakeholders and process engineers in the FA industry to create deployable technology-based solutions to address the problem of deadstock.
