I have completed MBA in Finance from Gujarat University in 2015 and cleared UGC NET in 2016. I worked as a Faculty in Accounting and Finance Department at Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Ahmedabad from 2016 to 2017. I completed Fellowship Programme in Management (FPM) at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) in 2021. Presently, I am working as Assistant Professor in the area of Strategy and Entrepreneurship in Nirma University. My area of interest lies in New Venture Creation, MSMEs, Entrepreneurship (Women and Education). Journey of women entrepreneurship in India: navigating through the stages of feminist identity development theory (FIDT) Ansita Aggarwal, Nisarg Joshi Journal of Enterprising Communities, 2026 Purpose This study aims to investigate the nuanced perspectives and motivations of women entrepreneurs, unveiling critical turning points and the application of feminist principles in their entrepreneurial endeavours. Design/methodology/approach This study adopts a pragmatic qualitative research approach to delve into the experiences of women entrepreneurs in India through the lens of the feminist identity development theory (FIDT). Sixteen in-depth interviews were conducted with women entrepreneurs, focusing on their motivations, challenges and the application of feminist principles in their entrepreneurial journeys. Findings This research underscores the need for a supportive environment and government interventions, emphasizing the role of policies, mentorship and community initiatives. Furthermore, it identifies avenues for future research, encouraging longitudinal studies, cross-cultural analyses and investigations into the influence of technology on feminist identity development. Originality/value This research paper uses the FIDT to explore the journey of women entrepreneurs in India, tracing their progression through stages of passive acceptance to active commitment.
A systematic literature review on key performance indicators for growth in small and medium enterprises Ansita Aggarwal, Amit Kumar Dwivedi International Journal of Business Excellence, 2025 The purpose of this paper is to identify the key performance indicators (KPIs) that have an impact on the growth of SMEs. SMEs' growth factors research has evolved in recent years. The study aims to recognise significant contributors, key factors, current trends, and future directions for research in SMEs. In a sample of 486 studies taken from the EBSCO and SCOPUS databases to explore the research activities undertaken on that subject, this paper adopts a literature review methodology along with citation analysis and thematic analysis. The result of a systematic review of factors affecting the growth of SMEs is presented. It utilises both the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) ranking and Scimago H-index to objectively demonstrate all the factors that can impact growth of small firms. Many interesting articles and the most prominent journals are listed based on citation analysis. The finding revealed a total of eight factors out of 73 factors, which were mentioned in a minimum of four papers. Most influential articles were identified in the analysis. This paper concludes with eight factors that SMEs need to control if they want to achieve growth in their organisation. Moreover, this study has identified research gaps and has proposed workable recommendations for the future.
Customer’s perception towards digital banking services in India Nisarg Joshi, Ansita Aggarwal International Journal of Knowledge Management Studies, 2025 Digital banking services have witnessed rapid growth and transformation in recent years, becoming an integral part of the financial landscape. This study explores the perceptions of customers towards digital banking services, utilising structural equation modelling (SEM) to analyse the relationships between key factors influencing customer attitudes. The research was conducted with a large sample size of 900 customers, providing comprehensive insights into their views and preferences regarding digital banking. The research sheds light on the growing importance of digital banking services in meeting customer expectations and demands. As customer preferences continue to evolve, banks must proactively address these factors to enhance customer experiences and maintain a competitive edge. The implications of this study extend beyond individual banking institutions, as it serves as a guiding framework for the broader financial industry seeking to embrace digital transformation. By understanding the nuanced perceptions of customers towards digital banking services, stakeholders can identify areas for improvement and formulate strategies to optimise service offerings.
Unveiling the Impact of Social Media Influencers on Follower’s Attachment Ansita Aggarwal, Tejas R. Shah Journal of Relationship Marketing, 2025 This study explores how social media influencers (SMIs), acting as digital entrepreneurs, shape followers’ parasocial relationships, flow, and attachment. It also examines how the perceived authenticity of SMIs moderates these effects. The research involved 749 participants from India who interacted with or followed SMIs on social media. Using AMOS 26 for data analysis, the findings reveal a strong positive link between source credibility and attachment, especially for non-authenticated SMIs. These influencers build trust and emotional connections through transparent collaborations. The study also highlights the role of parasocial relationships and homophily in driving attachment. As the digital landscape evolves, this research offers key insights into the dynamics of influencer-follower relationships, providing a foundation for future studies on digital entrepreneurship.
MSMEs' innovation: a barrier approach Ansita Aggarwal, Nisarg Joshi Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, 2024 PurposeThis article presents a comprehensive analysis of innovation in micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India, focusing on the barriers and facilitators within their internal and external ecosystems.Design/methodology/approachA self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from 1430 MSMEs across India, employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the relationships between internal and external factors and innovation adaptation.FindingsThe findings indicate that factors such as top management and organization structure, communication, technological capability and adaptation and organizational culture have a positive impact on innovation adaptation within the internal environment. Conversely, employee and market orientation, as well as financial factors, have a negative influence. Regarding the external environment, industry and competitive analysis, internationalization and partner alliances were found to positively affect innovation adaptation, whereas the country's infrastructure and policies had a negative impact.Originality/valueThe study emphasizes that MSMEs have the potential to leverage their internal and external environments to foster innovation within their organizations.
MODELLING THE IMPACT OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE: A CASE OF INDIAN IT COMPANIES Nisarg Joshi, Ansita Aggarwal Intellectual Economics, 2024 Purpose: This research aims to study the impact of the intellectual capital of selected listed IT companies in India on their financial performance.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study includes a sample of the ten Indian IT companies’ constituents of Nifty – IT index from 2011 to 2022. PLS-PM analysis has been employed to identify the intellectual capital components that predict the firm's performance and the effect of intellectual capital components on the firm's financial performance.Findings: The findings suggest that intellectual capital affects company performance and can, to varied degrees, predict it. The path model results validate the model fit and provide compelling evidence for the Intellectual Capital framework's theoretical underpinnings. The study offers evidence from the Indian IT sector that intellectual capital significantly impacts performance.Originality/Value: This study examines the financial performance of selected IT companies in India for investigating the impact of intellectual capital on financial performance. The role of incubators in securing resources and performance of the start-ups in India Ansita Aggarwal, Satya Ranjan Acharya International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, 2024 This study compares incubated and non-incubated start-ups in India based on resources secured and performance achieved. The data was collected by 146 incubated start-ups and 84 non-incubated start-ups using two different questionnaires on a simple random basis. The study was based on a resource-based view and a knowledge-based view. The results indicate a substantial disparity between incubated and non-incubated start-ups in resource accumulation and performance outcomes. The study's findings showed that all incubated start-ups were able to secure more resources in shorter time frame than non-incubated start-ups. Consequently, this leads to better performance by the incubated start-ups compared to the non-incubated start-ups on every basis. This study can help understand the need for incubators in developing economies like India, where there is a need for start-ups for growth and development. To support start-ups effectively, government policies should prioritise the establishment of more incubators nationwide.
