Variable pitching study of small scale vertical axis wind turbine Ramesh K Kavade, Naresh Jaiswal, Nitin P Bhone, Chandrakant B Kothare, Ashish D Urade, Ajay V Kolhe, Md Irfanul Haque Siddiqui, Choon Kit Chan, Xu Yong Energy Exploration and Exploitation, 2025 A variable-pitch small wind turbine has lots of energy assurance, which is harnessed from wind and can be made available for domestic application. These small wind turbines can be employed for electrical power generation by mounting them on house roofs, building towers, highway roadsides, gardens, and parks. Employing a pitching mechanism to make a variable pitch turbine has more scope for electricity production by rotating the turbines by the wind. Initial starting difficulty, along with improvement of the performance in terms output power of the turbine, is addressed by variable pitch small turbine. This research work explains the aerodynamic behavior of the turbine obtained by simulation code. It also compares tangential forces for constant/fixed and changeable pitch turbines. The Six Variable Pitch Curves, which are designed for maximum power coefficient, are used for this turbine, and performance analysis of these variable pitching is carried out. Mathematical models: single and multiple stream tubes are introduced for the present analysis. The six optimized pitch curves, namely BPS-1 to BPS-6, are studied in the six ranges of tip speed ratios with 0.5 intervals. The 54% to 75% gain of power coefficient is reported from the present variable pitching analysis.
Development and design of a carbon fiber insole intended for individuals with partial foot amputation Chandrika Wagle, Prateek D. Malwe, Nitin P. Bhone, Naresh Jaiswal, Chetanraj D. Patil, Ahmed Fouly, Mohd Asif Shah Aip Advances, 2024 Ankle and foot orthotics are suggested for gait rehabilitation therapy after a stroke. Clinical practice necessitates adjusting the ankle foot orthosis torque to accommodate each patient’s unique stride and body function. The objective of this paper is to develop a customized, cost-effective footplate orthosis from carbon fibers, manufactured using 3D printing, for individuals with partial foot amputations. The footplate is designed for use in developing nations and aimed to be made available with a reduced lead time. The experiment work carried out in this research is used to design, analyze, and validate a prosthetic footplate. A foot of size UK 7 with a 2 mm thick model of the human foot was modeled using Unigraphics-NX. The footplate’s design is being tested both conceptually and empirically. The footplate manufactured by applying load at toe and heel shows that the carbon fiber successfully restores leg length and reduces pressure on the feet’s delicate distal end.

Bhone, Naresh Jaiswal, Ankit Oza, Ghanshyam Tejani, Feroz Shaik, Subhav Singh, Deekshant Varshney Applied Chemical Engineering, 2024 This study considers the effect of CuO (copper oxide) nanoparticles on the heat transfer performance of automotive radiators with imprint formulation while controlling the design of experiments and the factors affecting its performance. Other factors include the concentration of CuO nanoparticles, which is characterized by measuring actual thermal performance parameters such as thermal conductivity and pressure drop. The experimental design includes the configuration of the apparatus, the measuring devices and their arrangement, and the placement of thermometers and flow restrictors for efficient data collection. Externally controlled and monitored conditions include a non-restricted constant temperature space and minimal or no airflow to avoid inconsistencies in the gathered data. In this study it has been seen that with increased CuO concentrations where enhanced heat transfer was achieved, there was also a corresponding increase in flow resistance. This research justifies the need to design an appropriate experimental plan and control the measuring conditions to achieve the expected results with precision and reproducibility. This work contributes to this understanding and presents various possibilities for improving radiator performance using nanotechnology.
