  • An Improved Water Level Fuzzy Controller for the Drum Boiler System
Manju Kumari, Anubha Gautam, Kalpana Sheokand, Keshav
Proceedings 2025 IEEE Delcon International Conference on Recent Smart Technologies in Engineering for Sustainable Development, 2025
Steam drum water level controllers are an essential component of manufacturing procedures used by numerous industries. Boiler drum water level is nonlinear, highly variable over time, strongly coupled, multivariable, and subject to extreme temperatures. Therefore, since controlling the steam drum level is essential to the boiler's performance, it must be done safely and correctly. This study aims to provide fuzzy control, PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) control, and intelligent FLC controller for water level control in the boiler drum. With the use of MATLAB software, a mathematical model has been created along with the controller's design and simulation analysis. A virtual prototype is created to capture the essential characteristics of the boiler throughout a wide control range for the level inside the drum system. Simulation results show that the fuzzy controller reduced settling time to 138 seconds, eliminated overshoot, and achieved stable water level control, thereby improving overall boiler efficiency.
  • Comparative Analysis of Octave and Band Pass Filter for Improving Hearing Capability of Deaf People

Proceedings 2023 3rd International Conference on Innovative Sustainable Computational Technologies Cisct 2023, 2023
Today's technical advancements expose everyone to machine-made loud sounds like horns, loudspeakers, TV, and motor sounds. As a result, various hearing-related disorders such as headaches, depression, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, hearing loss, deafness, and so on have emerged. For hearing loss, technology has played a vital role in overcoming this problem without any surgical procedure. Hearing strengthening devices are the most popular for such kinds of ailments. The primary component for building these kinds of devices is the sound filters. This paper is an effort to provide an optimum solution for improving hearing aids by using filters available in the market. In this paper, two Simulink-based models are taken from previous research, and some modifications have been made to this model, which uses the Octave and Bandpass Filters. They are compared by analyzing different parameters of the output speech signal with respect to the input speech signal, such as THD (Total Harmonic Distortion), SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio), SINDR (Signal-to-Noise-and-Distortion Ratio), and SFDR (Spurious Free Dynamic Range). MATLAB is a working platform and development tool to design and simulate the complete model with bandpass and octave filters. Furthermore, tests show that octave filters are more helpful for audio processing than bandpass filters as they provide better SNR, SINAD, and reduced SFDR and, thus, practical for use in hearing aids.
  • Performance comparison between Chaos and quantum-chaos based image encryption techniques

    Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2021
Today’s digital era has undertaken most of the responsibilities of public and private sectors, not only the industries or big organizations dependent on the internet but individual’s household needs also lying on it. To make the data transmission/reception confidential and secure for both internet users and internet service providers, a large number of researches have been done in this field. It has proved that cryptography is the best solution for solving this purpose. Mostly, digital images are continuously transferring on the network rather than texts. Enciphering a digital image is a much bulkier and a complex task. It has been evident from many types of research that chaotic logistic map-based equations provide a great level of randomness. Hence Chaotic logistic maps-based image encryption techniques (also called chaos techniques) were implemented to obtain highly random cipher images. On the other hand, time consumption must be as low as it can be possible to sustain real-time communication. Presently, the advanced encryption schemes based on quantum technology have enhanced efficiency and security because of having a large key-space and less time complexity along with randomness. The quantum-chaos based encryption is done by utilizing uncertainty principles of quantum mechanics on logistic maps. This paper is an effort to compare chaos and quantum chaos-based image encryption schemes. MATLAB 2016a software is used for the execution and the comparison is made based on various security attack analyses. Based on the study and experimental results, the quantum chaos techniques used for bit plane scrambling provides better results in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and trustworthy that can be adopted for highly secured image encryption.

To contend with the growing concern of information security, firms are espousing cryptography for protection. To comprehend this need, the paper proposes a block cipher that ensures confidentiality and secrecy for secure data communication network. A high-quality cryptographic process ensures high entropy, high key sensitivity, ability to resist known plaintext and chosen-plaintext attack, high speed of execution, high key space, high randomness and resistance towards differential attack. In projected work, encryption mechanism is comprises of multiple processes and each process is devised key dependent utilizing diverse keys to ensure high key sensitivity and vast resistance power towards differential attack. The keys are generated using contemporary encryption process- the quantum chaotic map due to its high randomness and non periodicity, which includes confusion and diffusion processes. For the confusion process, Electronic Code Book (ECB), Initial Permutation (IP), Bit plane scrambling, and Inter bit plane scrambling are employed. The ECB and IP, being matching processes are chosen for high speed of execution. Bit level permutation unlike byte level is applied to reinforce randomness, in conjunction with variable number of rounds as per the security key. For diffusion process, the folding technique is used along eight directions, exploiting different keys. To reveal the efficacy of the proposed methodology, it is compared with the existing renowned methods on the basis of Cryptanalysis, Perceptibility analysis, Statistical analysis, etc. It is asserted that results such as differential attack, cryptanalysis, and key space analysis are reasonably enhanced than others while entropy and speed of execution are at equivalence with other techniques.
