Enhancing Image Security with Memristor Driven Fractional Chaotic Systems and Secretary Bird Optimization Sakthi Kumar B, Revathi R Journal of Machine and Computing, 2025 The extensive utilization of information and communication technologies nowadays enhances information accessibility and underscores the importance of information and data security. Image encryption is a prevalent technique for safeguarding medical data on public networks, serving a vital function in the healthcare sector. Due to their intricate dynamics, memristors are frequently employed in the creation of innovative chaotic systems that enhance the efficacy of chaos-based encryption techniques. In recent years, chaos-based encryption methods have surfaced as a viable method for safeguarding the confidentiality of transmitted images. Memristor-based Fractional-order chaotic systems (MFOCS) have garnered considerable interest because to their resilience and intricacy. Fractional-order chaotic systems (FOCS) exhibit more intricate dynamics than integer-order chaotic systems. Consequently, the exploration of fractional chaotic systems for the development of picture cryptosystems has gained popularity recently. This research introduces an innovative image encryption framework utilizing a memristor-based fractional chaotic map in conjunction with the Secretary Bird Optimization Algorithm (SBOA) to improve security and resilience against cryptographic threats. The suggested method utilizes the distinctive memory properties and high-dimensional chaotic dynamics of the memristor-based fractional system to produce unpredictable encryption keys. The SBOA is utilized to enhance essential encryption parameters, guaranteeing superior randomness and resilience against statistical and differential assaults. The encryption method comprises a confusion phase, in which pixel positions are randomized using chaotic sequences, succeeded by a diffusion phase, where pixel intensities are altered utilizing optimal key sequences. Performance evaluation is executed by entropy analysis, correlation coefficient tests, NPCR, UACI, and studies of computational complexity. The findings indicate that the suggested method attains elevated entropy, minimal correlation, and robust key sensitivity, rendering it exceptionally resilient against brute-force and differential assaults. Notwithstanding its computing burden from fractional-order chaotic dynamics, the suggested model offers a secure and efficient encryption method appropriate for real-time image protection applications.

The proposed work helps to identify and extract facial regions from the input images or real-time videos through the fixed CCTV camera in the classrooms and the mark the attendance for the students. The current attendance system makes it difficult to track the student attendance during each lecture period and it also consumes lot of time. There is a chance for human errors also to occur. The proposed system uses YOLOv8 algorithm, that compares the registered faces from the database and identifies the individual identities. The algorithm employs a CNN that divides the captured image into grid. Hence, the proposed system has a friendly user interface, that enables the administrators to manage the record of student’s attendance easily and helps to save time and reduce human errors. It makes attendance monitoring more easier and faster. The used algorithm performs faster than Faster R-CNN in terms of speed and accuracy. Its GPU latency compared to R-CNN is 1.3ms. The rate of skipping classes and students leaving early can be reduced greatly using the proposed work. Experimental data shows that the accuracy rate of video-monitoring system is up to 80%. Hence the proposed system will help in the reduction of errors and compute the attendance data faster compared to any other real-time monitoring algorithms.
An efficient image encryption algorithm using a discrete memory-based logistic map with deep neural network B. Sakthi Kumar, R. Revathi Journal of Engineering and Applied Science, 2024 In the last few years, multimedia technology has made tremendous strides. These days, the Web is frequently used to transfer multimedia content, including audio, video, and photos. However, the Internet is a very vulnerable medium with many security holes. To ensure that multimedia content carried across unprotected channels, like the Internet, is secure and private, several encryption techniques have been proposed. New encryption strategies must be developed because multimedia data streams cannot be encrypted using traditional methods. Therefore, the main goal of the recommended system is to present an analytical research approach for introducing a sophisticated framework wherein the suggested encryption technologies' efficacy is increased through the use of deep neural networks (DNNs). The robustness of the DNN principle is coupled with a discrete memristor-based logistic chaotic map notion for enhanced security performance. In this paper, three distinct encryption algorithms—Arnie cat with an artificial neural network (ANN), Henon map with an ANN, and logistic map with a DNN—are compared for security and performance with the suggested algorithm. Correlation coefficients, information entropy, number of pixels changing rate (NPCR), encryption quality, and encryption duration are the cryptographic analysis parameters examined here. The results show that the recommended implementation enhances security performance without degrading image quality. The proposed algorithm achieves 35.9% of UACI, 99.95% of NPCR, and 7.997231 of entropy.
