    Smart grid with electric vehicle (EV) integration changes the pace of the new age power system. The bidirectional power flow is the major pros of modern smart grid. When EV connected to the local home electrical grid, the charger functions using a metaheuristic control. Additionally, the charger is constructed and maintained to function effectively under EV-smart grid integration. Electric vehicles' (EVs’) ideal charge-discharge performance is one way to improvise such consumer involvement. For the best performance of EVs in smart grid, this research presents a hybrid Meta heuristic approach that clubs the gravitational search algorithm and particle swarm optimization. Matlab/Simulink is used to simulate the entire system, and the outcomes of each case's operation are displayed along with a management system for these various working scenarios. The review and evaluation of the simulation results demonstrate that they adhere to current requirements for power quality.
  • Towards Sustainable Oceans: Deep Learning for Plastic Detection in Subaquatic Environment

    Marine biodiversity and the health of the environment worldwide are seriously threatened by the fast buildup of plastic garbage in aquatic environments. The use of automated solutions is required since traditional techniques for identifying plastic waste under water are time-consuming and not scalable. Advanced sensor and computing capabilities on Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) are making them essential instruments for detecting underwater garbage. Deep learning arose as a key component of these automated systems due to its exceptional performance in image identification tasks. While U-Net and DeepLab are excellent in segmenting plastic debris at the pixel level, models like YOLOv8m, YOLOv8n, YOLOv8s and SSD are being used in our work for real-time object identification.These models use strong feature extraction and data augmentation strategies to tackle underwater obstacles, such as low visibility and changing surroundings. Metrics like Precision, Accuracy, F1-Score, and Recall are considered to assess performance and provide information on the correctness and dependability of the model. Real-time mapping, monitoring, and intervention in marine settings are ensured by integrating these technologies with AUVs. This study establishes the foundation for sustainable marine ecosystem management and highlights the abilities of deep learning to transform detection plastic waste in underwater.
  • Enhancing Power Quality in Solar-Integrated Smart Grids for EV Systems Through Smart Controller

    Global need for Electric vehicles (EVs) is uninterruptedly growing, as a result of increased CO2 emissions and the harm that traditional cars cause to the environment. The transportation sector has also changed as a result of EVs. Because of its unique features, which include reduced carbon emissions, noise pollution, and operating costs, as well as the ability to function in dual Grid-To-Vehicle (G-V) & Vehicle-To-Grid (V-G) situations, EVs are becoming more and more popular. However, it has a variety of impacts on distributed grid. The addition of EVs to the distribution system has resulted in a number of power issues, including voltage oscillations, distortions in currents, harmonic distortions, and power factor degradation. This study's main focus is on reducing PQ problems, like as harmonics, that arise in the distributed power network when electric vehicles are incorporated at the distribution end. Using a Dynamic Shunt Filter (DSF) with MPSO tailored CCC control approach, the current profile on the distribution side is improved and harmonics are reduced. MATLAB/Simulink is used to validate MPSO-DSF performance in conjunction with VtoG and GtoV operations.

    Range anxiety is the predominent desolation among the electric vehicles (EV's) possessors that caused by drivers ambiguity in relation to vehicle's energy needed to arrivea targeted place and state of charge (SoC). This paper proposes an intelligent control algorithm for real time range estimation, indication of various parameters and generates alerts in the smart phone using Internet of Things (IoT). This algorithm determines the amount of charge present in battery and how much distance can an electric vehicle move with the remaining power available. Intelligent controller also improves the battery performance and lifetime. Thereby the integrated system of range estimator and crash detector will make the electric vehicles more smarter.
