Energy Sources Part A Recovery Utilization and Environmental Effects, 2025
Efficient energy distribution and utilization play a significant role in the energy grid, especially with renewable sources. The existing grid system has problems in resource utilization, data privacy, wireless communication, and dynamic demand handling. An energy grid is proposed based on IoT, blockchain, and machine learning techniques to solve the problems. The proposed energy grid architecture controls energy flow according to the demand, predicts expected load, analyzes consumer behavior, and enables the users in the grid trade energy in peer to peer manner. Energy flow in storage modules controlled with high voltage relays, and it automates the charging and discharging of respective battery pools in the grid. Energy consumption and battery status in the grid uploaded to the distributed file system. The data clustering model deployed in the server analyses those data and divides the consumers into three groups according to the consumer’s consumption behavior: high, moderate, and low consumption. The Time series analysis model deployed to forecast the load and predict peak hours. The codes deployed as a smart contract in an Ethereum blockchain platform. Machine learning algorithms are deployed for forecasting and clustering. In forecasting, the average error rate is 37% less than other generally used algorithms, and in the clustering algorithm, the accuracy increases as the dataset increases, which is 30% more than other cluster models. The controlled energy storage model in this grid provides up to 500–600 extra charge cycles for batteries than other traditional methods. The distributed IPFS storage provides data security, and smart contracts support grid operational security and data privacy. The data analyzation module of the grid helps effective resource utilization.

SummaryRapid advancement in industrial applications of Internet of Things (IoT) has dramatically increased the number of Internet connected devices resulting in big challenges of scalability, adaptability, connectivity, and accessibility. Cognitive radio is efficient in handling spectrum allocation problem by facilitating the allocation of unlicensed spectrum dynamically to the IoT applications. However, cognitive radio network (CRN) capability of spectrum sensing is highly vulnerable to diversified number of security attacks. Malicious user disturbs the spectrum sensing potential and minimizes its accuracy by launching attacks during the detection of primary signal. In this article, certificateless linkable ring signature‐based blockchains (CLRSB) is proposed for securing CRNs by achieving reliable discrimination between trustworthy users through cryptographic keys. It initially transformed the complete set of users such as PUs and SUs into the structure of blocks representing the smart contracts‐based traditional public ledger blockchain that gets integrated to form a decentralized network for attaining improvement in efficient spectrum sensing. It adopted a mayfly optimization algorithm (MFOA)‐improved CNN (MFOA‐ICNN)‐based spectrum sensing method for preventing the interference between PUs and SUs during spectrum access. It also used MFOA for optimizing the features with balanced trade‐off between exploration and exploitation to identify the remarkable features that attributes toward efficient spectrum sensing. It specifically used CLRS for protecting information about the transaction initiator for the objective of protecting blockchain privacy. Simulation experiments of this CLRSB confirmed better response time and minimized frame loss on an average by 18.13% and 17.81%, better than the baseline schemes used for investigation.

Distributed wireless networks are capable of delivering solutions for countless engineering and viable applications. The sensor nodes of these wireless networks tolerate tons of limitations namely low computation capability, secured data transmission, tiny memory, fractional energy resources, etc. Within this environment any sensor node can initiate the communication over a period, hence it is imperative to enhance the reliability of data which is communicated. In a secured communication, diverse numbers of hardware devices are employed for sharing the information wirelessly. Therefore, the dynamic keys guarantee the secureness of data between the diverse numbers of user devices. Here the manuscript deals about a method of generating dynamic keys for secure communication in a distributed environment that cannot be predicted or cloned by the previous values. The dynamic keys are generated by employing a hybrid hardware of PRNG (Pseudo-Random Number Generator) and PUF (Physical Unclonable Function). A hardware platform is preferred to produce the randomly unclonable dynamic keys.
  • Autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle for post-disaster management with cognitive radio communication

International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence, 2021
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) play a significant role in finding victims affected in the post-disaster zone, where a man cannot risk his life under a critical condition of the disaster environment. The proposed design incorporates autonomous vision-based navigation through the disaster environment based on general graph theory with dynamic changes on the length between two or multiple nodes, where a node is a pathway. Camera fixed on it continuously captures the surrounding footage, processing it frame by frame on-site using image processing technique based on a SOC. Identifies victims in the zone and the pathways available for traversal. UAV uses an ultrasonic rangefinder to avoid collision with obstacles. The system alerts the rescue team if any victim detected and transmits the frames using CRN to the off-site console. UAV learns navigation policy that achieves high accuracy in real-time environments; communication using CRN is uninterrupted and useful during such emergencies.
