A Deep Learning–Enhanced Blockchain Architecture for Intrusion Detection and Classification C. Ananth, S. Sathiyarani, N. Mohananthini Engineering Technology and Applied Science Research, 2026 An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is a significant cybersecurity process that comprises network traffic monitoring for malicious activity and taking appropriate protective actions. However, inadequate training data or inappropriately selected thresholds often restrict the performance of these systems, leading to low detection rates. Blockchain (BC) technology can offer a secure, decentralized, and immutable ledger to monitor suspicious activities over time and classify intrusions globally. Integrating advanced Deep Learning (DL) and BC improves detection and overall security. The decentralized nature of BC eliminates single points of failure. DL can efficiently detect patterns and anomalies, mitigating false alerts, and when integrated with public BC, it ensures secure, transparent, and tamper-proof storage of intrusion data. This study presents a BC-assisted Coati Optimization Algorithm (COA) with DL for Intrusion Detection and Classification (BCOADL-IDC) method, using the BC architecture to ensure data integrity and immutability. Initially, min-max normalization is applied to scale the input data. Then, an Attention-based Bidirectional Recurrent Neural Network (ABiRNN) model is utilized for intrusion detection. COA is used to fine-tune the crucial parameters of the ABiRNN model to improve detection performance. Finally, the integration of BC helps to ensure the integrity of the detection results, prevent tampering, and provide a transparent and secure record of network actions. The comparative study of the BCOADL-IDC approach showed a higher accuracy of 98.79% over existing models on the ToN_IoT dataset.
RETRACTION:Enhancing heart disease detection and classification using fuzzy logic and metaheuristic algorithms in a blockchain assisted healthcare environment N. Mohananthini, K. Rajeshkumar, C. Ananth Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems, 2024 Heart disease (HD) is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, emphasizing the need for accurate and efficient detection and classification methods. Recently, Blockchain (BC) provides seamless and secure sharing of heart disease data amongst healthcare providers, specialists, and researchers. This allows collaborative efforts, data exchange, and integration of diverse datasets, leading to a more comprehensive analysis and accurate detection of heart diseases. BC provides a decentralized and tamper-proof platform for storing sensitive patient data related to heart disease. This ensures the integrity and security of the data, reducing the risk of unauthorized access or data manipulation. Therefore, this study presents a new blockchain-assisted heart disease detection and classification model with feature selection with optimal fuzzy logic (BHDDC-FSOFL) technique. The presented BHDDC-FSOFL technique uses BC technology to store healthcare data securely. In addition, the disease detection module encompasses the design of biogeography teaching and learning-based optimization (BTLBO) algorithm for feature selection (FS) procedure. Moreover, an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) classifier can be exploited for HD detection and classification. Furthermore, the ebola search optimization (ESO) algorithm is used for the parameter tuning of the ANFIS classifier. The integration of ANFIS classifier enables the modeling of uncertainty and imprecision in HD data, while metaheuristic algorithms aid in optimizing the classification process. Additionally, the utilization of BC technology ensures secure and transparent storage and sharing of healthcare data. To demonstrate the enhanced HD classification results of the BHDDC-FSOFL technique, a detailed experimental analysis was made on the HD dataset. The extensive result analysis pointed out the improved performance of the BHDDC-FSOFL technique compared to recent approaches in terms of different measures. Therefore, the proposed model offers a reliable and privacy-enhancing solution for healthcare providers and patients in a BC-assisted healthcare environment.
Artificial Bee Colony Optimization with Hybrid Image Encryption with Random Key Driven Share Creation Scheme for Blockchain-Assisted Question Paper Sharing Nagarajan B, Ananth C, Mohananthini N Ssrg International Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2023 Educational tests and examinations cover massive data sharing to distribute question papers, aptitude tests, answer sheets, and quizzes for new admissions. Question Paper Leaking (QPL) can cause an unreasonable issue during exams. Today, QPL was a severe problem worldwide, from university entrance exams to public exams, and the situation is getting worse in emerging countries. QPL can cause specific rigorous results such as erosion of ethical standards and the education quality being compromised. There is a need for the security of e-learning mechanisms through cryptographic techniques. Blockchain (BC) fulfilled educational valuations and personalized curricula with smart contracts over a public permission BC. It exhibits the potential of this developing technology to enhance various core learning experiences, such as learner privacy, assessments, and curriculum personalization. This study presents an Artificial Bee Colony Optimization with Hybrid Image Encryption with Random Key Driven Share Creation Scheme for Blockchain Assisted Question Paper Sharing (ABCHIE-RKDSC) technique. In the presented ABCHIE-RKDSC model, three main procedures are involved, called share creation, share encryption, and BC-enabled transmission. During the process of share creation, a set of four shares is created for every input image and the random key generation method is performed by a user input equation instead of a conventional random seed function. Next, the generated shares undergo encryption by hybrid Advanced Encryption Standard with the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (AES-ECC) method. Moreover, the key generation process of the AES-ECC method is performed by the use of the ABC algorithm. The proposed ABCHIE-RKDSC technique involves BC technology that enables secure transmission of encrypted QPs. Finally, the share reconstruction and image decryption process take place to retrieve the original QPs. The experimental validation of the ABCHIE-RKDSC algorithm is investigated, and the outputs are evaluated under varied measures. A comprehensive result investigation highlighted the advancement of the ABCHIE-RKDSC method over other methods.
Blockchain-Assisted Homomorphic Encryption Approach for Skin Lesion Diagnosis using Optimal Deep Learning Model Kandasamy Rajeshkumar, Chidambaram Ananth, Natarajan Mohananthini Engineering Technology and Applied Science Research, 2023 Blockchain (BC) and Machine learning (ML) technologies have been investigated for potential applications in medicine with reasonable success to date. On the other hand, as accurate and early diagnosis of skin lesion classification is essential to gradually increase the survival rate of the patient, Deep-Learning (DL) and ML technologies were introduced for supporting dermatologists to overcome these challenges. This study designed a Blockchain Assisted Homomorphic Encryption Approach for Skin Lesion Diagnosis using an Optimal Deep Learning (BHESKD-ODL) model. The presented BHESKD-ODL model achieves security and proper classification of skin lesion images using BC to store the medical images of the patients to restrict access to third-party users or intruders. In addition, the BHESKD-ODL method secures the medical images using the mayfly optimization (MFO) algorithm with the Homomorphic Encryption (HE) technique. For skin lesion diagnosis, the proposed BHESKD-ODL method uses pre-processing and the Adam optimizer with a Fully Convolutional Network (FCN) based segmentation process. Furthermore, a radiomics feature extraction with a Bidirectional Recurrent Neural Network (BiRNN) model was employed for skin lesion classification. Finally, the Red Deer Optimization (RDO) algorithm was used for the optimal hyperparameter selection of the BiRNN approach. The experimental results of the BHESKD-ODL system on a benchmark skin dataset proved its promising performance in terms of different measures.
