• Effect of Educational Videos on Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Ear Health: A Quasi-Experimental Study among Medical Students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Arsyada Hakama Syakuro, Asti Widuri, Rizka Fakhriani
Media Publikasi Promosi Kesehatan Indonesia, 2025
Introduction: Many hearing problems arise from a lack of understanding about ear health and proper care. Lack of public awareness of how to maintain ear health, coupled with improper ear cleaning techniques such as using cotton swabs or other instruments, can lead to earwax blockages or infections in the outer ear. Some ear infections can be prevented by public health promotion activities, including videos. This study aims to examine the effect of ear health education videos on knowledge, attitudes, and ear cleaning practices. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design. Sixty-three medical students were recruited using consecutive sampling. After obtaining informed consent, they were asked to complete a valid and reliable Indonesian version questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of ear health, watch an educational video about anatomy, physiology, and ear health safety care, and then complete the same questionnaire again. Results: The research respondents were 38 (60.3%) female students and 25 (39.7%) male students. Overall KAP scores improved significantly after video intervention (Z = -3.92, p < 0.001, r = 0.49, 95% CI = [0.28-0.66]). Stratified analysis of each domain revealed heterogeneous outcomes. Knowledge and attitude scores showed a non-significant increase, but practices improved significantly with a small to moderate effect (Z = -2.03, p = 0.042, r = 0.26, 95% CI = [0.40-3.00]), particularly regarding avoidance of unsafe ear cleaning tools and noise exposure. Conclusion:Ear health video education did not substantially alter knowledge and attitude, but it produced significant behavioral shifts in self-reported ear-care practices. The absence of substantial change in knowledge and attitude ratings may be due to a high baseline level in this cohort, indicating a possible ceiling effect. This behavioral shift aligns with theories suggesting that multimedia interventions effectively improve procedural skills and self-efficacy, aiding the application of existing knowledge into positive action rather than promoting deeper conceptual change.
• Correlation between anxiety and score for allergic rhinitis
Rizka Fakhriani, Deoni Daniswara, Asti Widuri
Journal of Xiangya Medicine, 2024
Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an atopic disorder caused by immunoglobulin E (IgE) reaction to inhaled allergens. The allergy causes sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal congestion, and itching. Although AR is not life-threatening, it can seriously affect people's quality of life and impair their daily lives. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between anxiety and recurrence of AR.

Fadli Robby Amsriza, Rizka Fakhriani
International Journal of Public Health Science, 2023
Hemorrhoids are the third most frequent gastrointestinal condition. The symptoms of hemorrhoid illness may include pain, itching, bleeding, soiling, and swelling. This study aimed to examine the impact of treatment on hemorrhoid patients’ quality of life. 36 patients with hemorrhoids between 18 to 60 took part in this longitudinal study before and after treatment between April and August 2022. Health-related quality of life (HRQOL) before and after treatment is 0.037<0.051. Lower quality of life in terms of essential health is indicated by the health scale modified for hemorrhoid disease symptom score (HSHD) since the score before treatment is lower than the score after treatment. The p-value thus shows a significant impact both before and after treatment. The research on hemorrhoid patients showed that the patient’s quality of life increased after treatment.
• Translation and validation of Indonesian hemorrhoidal disease symptom score (HDSS) and short health scale hemorrhoidal disease (SHSHD)
Fadli Robby Amsriza, Rizka Fakhriani, Asmaya Aji Pangki
Turkish Journal of Surgery, 2023
Objectives: Hemorrhoidal disease, which affects nearly 40% of people, is characterized by pathological alterations and distal displacement of hemorrhoidal tissue. The short health scale (SHSHD) and the hemorrhoidal disease symptom score (HDSS) are two tools that can be utilized to assess the quality of life of hemorrhoidal patients. The present study aims to translate, modify, and validate the HDSS and SHSHD questionnaires in Indonesian. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed the validity and reliability of the HDSS and SHSHD Indonesian adaptation instrument in hemorrhoidal patients from April 15, 2022, and April 1, 2023. Results: There were 91 study subjects, 55 males and 36 females. The study showed that the subscale interpretations of the R-values and the full scale scored above 0.25, indicating weak to very strong correlations. These results mean that the HDSS and SHSHD questionnaires are valid for use. Based on the study's results, the R-value of each item, domain, and total score ≥0.8 (p <0.05) indicates that the HDSS and SHSHD instruments are reliable. Conclusion: The Indonesian adaptation of the HDSS and SHSHD demonstrates validity and reliability as an assessment tool for measuring the healthrelated quality of life in Indonesian patients diagnosed with hemorrhoidal disease.

Objective: This study focuses on investigating the profile of all side effects of the mRNA-1273 vaccine for healthcare workers. Material and method: A cross-sectional design were used to explore the side effects of the mRNA-1273 vaccine for healthcare workers in Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia. The survey was conducted through Google form after 119 healthcare workers in Yogyakarta and Central Java receiving the mRNA-1273 vaccination as a booster in May-August 2021. Results and discussion:The major goal of this research is to investigate the side effects of using the mRNA-1273 vaccine as a booster among healthcare workers in Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia. Most (99.2%) of respondents admitted to feeling pain at the injection site, 42% the respondents also admitted to feeling swelling at the injection site as a moderate side effect, and 3.4% respondents reported vomiting as a rare side effect. This study found the low negative correlation between headache with p value 0.004 (p<0.05, r= -314) and nauseous with p value 0.012 (p<0.05, r= -300) towards the gender. We also found the low negative correlation between muscle aches with p value 0.033 (p<0.05) towards the ages (r= -257). Conclusion: The most common side effect after receiving the mRNA-1273 vaccine as a booster is a pain in the injection area. Female most frequent felt the headache and nauseous than man after received booster vaccination. Bangladesh Journal of Medical Science Vol. 21 No. 04 October’22 Page : 801-807

International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology, 2022
Introduction Dysphagia is common in head and neck cancer patients; it is associated with significant morbidity, including quality of life. Several instruments can be used to assess the quality of life of dysphagia patients, including the M.D Anderson dysphagia inventory (MDADI) questionnaire, which is sufficiently valid and reliable to improve the quality of life of patients with neurological disorders and head and neck cancer. Objective The purpose of the present study is to perform adaptation, cultural translation, and validation of the MDADI questionnaire for the Indonesian language. Methods This cross-sectional study assessed the validity and reliability of the MDADI Indonesian adaptation instrument in head and neck cancer patients with swallowing disorders in the Otorhinolaryngology clinic of the Dr. Sardjito hospital, Yogyakarta, from May to August 2019. Results There were 40 study subjects, including 31 men and 9 women. The MDADI instrument adapted to Indonesian is valid and reliable as an instrument for assessing the quality of life of patients with head and neck cancer with swallowing disorders, with r-values ranging from 0.314 to 0.939. Internal consistency shows that Cronbach's α is 0.915, and test-retest reliability (intra-class correlation) ranges from 0.919 to 0.985. Conclusion The translation and validation of the Indonesian MDADI instrument were performed as an instrument for assessing the quality of life of head and neck cancer patients with swallowing disorders.
