Introduction: Xylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon with colourless, flammable, and volatile characteristics. The main exposure occurs through inhalation, as paint solvent vapor is released during the spray-painting process and can be inhaled by workers in the car painting area in Surabaya. One way to deal with xylene exposure in the workplace is to detoxify xylene through foods containing the enzymes CYP2E1 and Glycine. Objective: This study aims to predict the detoxification of xylene through food intake containing the CYP2E1 enzyme and glycine among workers in the car painting area of Surabaya, Indonesia. The primary goal is to evaluate how dietary factors influence xylene metabolism and elimination, potentially reducing occupational health risks associated with xylene exposure. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study. The group being studied includes 2 strata of car painting workers and car retainer groups. Sampling was carried out through random sampling with proportional groups of 51 respondents including 36 painters and 15 workers in caulking areas. The research variables included weight, job time, weekly hours, work time per day, and xylene concentration. Once all variables had been gathered, each respondent's breathing rate and noncarcinogen intake were calculated. Lastly, we figure out the right amounts of foods with CYP2E1 enzymes and glycine. Results: The level of xylene near the Surabaya car painting zone was above the threshold set for Xylen exposure at work. Foods that contain CYP2E1 enzyme are beef, brains. Glycine can be obtained from spinach. Conclusion: The effective dose of food ingredients for xylen detox needed by each worker differs depending on the individual characteristics of each worker, ranging from body weight to length of work. Control with regular air checks to determine the condition of the xylene concentration level at work, providing air ventilation (local exhaust), specifically for partially enclosed workshops, using paint with safer organic solvents, and wearing personal protective equipment like a half-mask respirator with organic vapor cartridges, are steps taken to lower xylene levels. Open Public Health Journal, 2024
Background Hypertension and obesity are emerging as significant non-communicable disease threats that can be addressed through behavioral changes. Objective This research aimed to develop policies to control hypertension and obesity among secondary school teachers. Methods A qualitative research approach using a descriptive study design was employed involving 21 research participants. Data were collected through interviews and observations, and height and weight measurements were taken to determine the body mass index. Five thematic areas were explored: 1) snack consumption, 2) sleep habits, 3) family health history, 4) exercise habits, and 5) health complaints in the last 6 months. Information obtained from participants was assessed for validity, guided by a logical, participant-centered theoretical framework. Thematic analysis was conducted for data analysis. Results This study has revealed a trend among the participants, i.e., 10 study participants were with systolic blood pressure exceeding 139 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure exceeding 90 mmHg. Fifteen participants were classified as obese, while 2 participants were categorized as overweight. Consumption of fried snacks emerged as the most common unhealthy dietary pattern among most of the participants. Unhealthy dietary patterns, such as consumption of fried snacks, and health problems, including hypertension, obesity, and musculoskeletal complaints, contribute to the risk of non-communicable diseases in the school teacher population. Conclusion Adopting preventive measures and a healthy lifestyle are essential to reduce health problems.

Health Behavior and Policy Review, 2023
Objective: In this study, we examined the characteristics of health problems associated with traditional divers (N = 10) so as to provide responsive prevention and intervention for persons engaged in this informal occupation. Methods: For this qualitative research we used a phenomenological design. We conducted data analysis in 2 ways: (1) we mapped the responses of our participants to interview questions, and (2) we applied ATLAS.Ti22 software for analytic description. Results: Complaints of muscle cramps were felt by 4 participants who consumed < 2 liters of water per day, 2 persons with a body mass index (BMI) in the obese category, and one diver who was overweight. Ear complaints were related to diving depth, diving duration, cigarette smoking, and BMI. Muscle complaints were related to water consumption, dive depth, and BMI is 0.22. Conclusion: Education, surveillance, and policy initiatives are necessary to minimize the negative health effects of traditional diving.

To identify the driving and inhibiting factors and to find a prototype of community involvement in the COVID-19 vaccine. Data sources from PubMed database, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and ProQuest. The data were obtained based on searches using the keyword COVID-19 (n = 11,.599), focusing on community acceptance (n = 813), community involvement (n = 86), and types of articles (n = 46). Articles that meet the inclusion criteria are seven, and the data were analyzed with ATLAS Ti.9 software. Engagement and driving factors have the highest correlation (0.38). The drivers, perceptions of vulnerability, and inhibiting factors determine community involvement. The perception of exposure can be a supporting or inhibiting factor influenced by information reinforcement. Strengthening positive information can alter the sense of community vulnerability, making it a driving force for participation in the COVID-19 vaccine campaign. This finding is an appropriate strategy to expand the reach and resolve public doubts about accepting the vaccine.

Introduction: The Indonesian government has prioritized stunting management programs, but until 2022 the prevalence of stunting is still high. Objectives: The purpose of this research is to develop a strategy to increase community satisfaction with stunting services oriented toward strengthening communication. Methods: This is a cross-sectional design research with data collected from a sample population of 298 mothers who have stunted children through a survey and analyzed using path analysis with SEM-PLS. Results: The result showed that communication affects stunting service facilities and sanitation management with a P-value of 0.000, respectively. Communication does not directly affect stunting service satisfaction, it is moderated by the variables of facilities and sanitation, which play a role in strengthening or weakening the effect of stunting service satisfaction. An essential factor that can be used to produce optimal stunting service satisfaction is strengthening communication. Conclusion: Strengthening communication between regional institutions at the Regency level synergistically supports the provision of the required facilities, thereby increasing community satisfaction. Furthermore, strengthening cross-sectoral communication synergistically in managing environmental sanitation supports stunting service programs. This research contributes to the government's emphasis on stunting service policies to strengthen communication between service providers and cross-sectoral communication.
