Assessment of Multicore Processor Soft Error Reliability Using BBRO-DNN and SSF-FIS Models Usha Jadhav, P. Malathi Concurrency and Computation Practice and Experience, 2026 The development of virtual platform frameworks has made it possible to perform early soft error analysis of more realistic multicore systems, that is, real software stacks and state‐of‐the‐art ISAs. Because of the underlying frameworks' strong observability and simulation performance, more error/failure related data may be generated and collected in a reasonable amount of time even with complicated software stack setups. Parameters (i.e., features) that do not directly connect to the system soft error analysis must be filtered away when working with sizable failure‐related data sets that come from several fault campaigns. In this regard, the paper proposes an assessment of multicore processor soft error reliability using BBRO‐DNN and SSF‐FIS models. At first, source code is converted into the executable code using LLVM compiler and applied over the Gem 5 virtual platform. Then, faults are injected into the fault injection module of the virtual platform. Profiling module analysis the faults and the reaction of the system and submits the report. The fault report is given into the proposed BBRO‐DNN model for classifying the fault type. Finally, the system's reliability is evaluated using classified fault type. Experimental results are done by comparing the proposed and existing models to show the superiority of the developed model.
Multicore soft error reliability assessment and evaluation of Compiler optimization flag Effects on ARMv7 and ARMv8 Usha Jadhav, P. Malathi, Luciano Ost, Rafael Garibotti, Jonas Gava 2023 IEEE 20th India Council International Conference Indicon 2023, 2023 With the fast technological advancement in submicron devices, today’s communication systems are more demanding for use of ARM based devices in safety critical systems. Cosmic rays penetrate and can change the data values of register, memory cells causing soft errors. Multi core and Commercial off the shelf architectures are more susceptible to soft errors and changes the order of execution of statements in program. So, reliability is a major concern in such resource constrained environments. This paper inspects, the use of the compiler optimization flag improves the soft error tolerance of programs running on ARM Cortex-M4F and ARM Cortex-A72 processors using virtual platform. The experimental results from 1K fault injections depicts that -Os level improves the soft error resilience of the applications compared to the -O0 level. Also, compared to a single core, dual cores have higher operating system thread management routines, which results in more OMMs and fewer Vanishes.
Implementation of energy efficient homogenous MPSOC display device trained using NN in FPGA Masroor Khan, Usha Jadhav Proceedings 2019 5th International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation Iccubea 2019, 2019 Artificial neural networks (ANN) are computational models which work similar to human nervous system. Back propagation is one of the method of ANN within Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) that means "the backward propagation of errors", since an error is computed at the output and distributed backwards throughout the layers. The approach shown trains display devices LED to neural network in FPGA. The Multi Core System On Chip (MPSOC) include multiple microprocessor used in platforms that contain multiple processing elements with specific functionality reflecting the need of the expected application domain, a memory hierarchy and I/O components. The study proposed to minimize the power consumption while meeting the performance needs of the back propagation neural network in MPSOC using display device initially on Single Processor System on Chip (SPSOC) and comparing it to that of energy efficiency of devices over homogenous MPSOC.
Duty-Cycle Measurement and Correction Technique in 90-nm CMOS Lalita M. Landge, Usha A. Jadhav Proceedings 2018 4th International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation Iccubea 2018, 2018 A concept of pulsewidth modification is used to vary the duty cycle. Analog technique with feedback loop is applied to correct the duty cycle of any circuit without using more power. This technique works at the frequencies where most of the digital techniques does not work. Additional noise and degradation in sensitivity in a receiver rises due to non 50% duty cycle and even order harmonics which is eliminated. Pulsewidth modification cell is used for expansion and contraction of pulsewidth. Push pull inverter is used as an amplifier to amplify and bias the analog valtage.
Design of a multiplier with Adaptive Hold Logic (AHL) circuit to reduce aging effects Vaishali S. Chirde, Usha Jadhav IEEE International Conference on Computer Communication and Control Ic4 2015, 2016 In VLSI, transistor scaling plays an important role in reducing the power dissipation and increasing speed from one technology node to another technology node. But transistors are scaled further in size then it will lead to number of limitations like short channel effect, sub-threshold condition, body effect, aging effects etc. Negative Bias Temperature Instability (NBTI) is increase in threshold voltage (Vth) when pMOS transistors are under negative bias (Vgs=-Vdd). This effect reduces the speed of the circuit. In this paper, a design of a multiplier with Adaptive Hold Logic (AHL) circuit is proposed to reduce Aging Effects. The Adaptive Hold Logic (AHL) circuit is used to indicate the aging effects of transistor. The circuit is designed in Tanner EDA (Electronic Design and Automation) 13.0 tool with 22-nm technology node.
Design of a multiplier with Adaptive Hold Logic (AHL) circuit to reduce aging effects Adewole Adewumi, Victor Odunjo, Sanjay Misra 2015 International Conference on Computing Communication and Security Icccs 2015, 2016 Transportation is an issue of concern in big cities of many developing countries today. Due to the large population in these cities, there is constant traffic congestion and pollution. As a result taxi services are common. In Nigeria, companies offering these services have discovered that they can better serve the large population by providing their services through the mobile platform. Given the wide spread adoption of smart phones in these regions, we designed, developed and deployed an Android-based application for one of the taxi service company called Red Cab. The application makes it easier for Red Cab to cater for its current customers and also reach out to newer ones.
