Wireless network which fosters the needs of the application vertex such as Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing sector, Smart Grids, Intelligent charging stations and Entertainment sector must be fast and should be efficiently managing all limited resources available in a network for communication. As huge number of devices are connected with internet to foster application requirements, wireless network and devices should efficiently use spectrum & energy both. Massive MIMO, mm Wave, SWIPT, C-RAN and use of small cells are few technologies of 5G which enhances efficiency of the one of the limited resources available in network i.e. energy. This paper presents, various energy efficiency, aspects, and survey of EE techniques like Energy Harvesting, Energy efficient architecture with Cloud radio access network, small cells & heterogeneous network, and Massive MIMO for 5G wireless network. Simulation results are presented in paper for one of the EE technologies, "SWIPT" which validates experimentation of energy harvesting technique for wireless communication. Fixed and dynamic power allocation technique’s impact on BER and outage probability are also discussed and results for SWIPT with power splitting technique are presented. Outage probability using SWIPT technique indicates better outage performance which can be further improved with integration of MIMO and small cell techniques. Further integrated approach on using energy harvesting technique with small cell network like pico and femto cells with cloud random access network and MIMO technique can be implemented in future to get energy efficient network.
  • Energy Efficient Resource Allocation in Cloud Radio Access Network - A Survey

2023 14th International Conference on Computing Communication and Networking Technologies Icccnt 2023, 2023
Evolution of wireless communication standard till 4G was majorly focused on improving data rates, but number of devices which are getting connected with internet to fulfill the smart requirements are increasing very rapidly in last few years. There is a need to handle the data generated by these devices, efficiently by wireless network which itself needs to be faster as well as efficient in terms of resource management such as spectrum and energy. Next Generation Mobile Network (NGMN), New Radio (NR) abbreviated as 5G, is a telecommunication standard which is proposed to satisfy the demand of communication for latest era. Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) architecture for 5G is based on central processing with real time cloud computing structure. It helps in improving spectral efficiency as well as the energy efficiency of the network. In this paper a survey of resource allocation with C-RAN for improvement in energy efficiency of the network is presented. Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN), architecture, advantages, and challenges for energy efficient cellular wireless network with the references of seminal work and available literature is presented. Comparative study of algorithms mentioned in seminal work reports improvement in network energy efficiency with increase in the fronthaul capacity & significant increase in energy efficiency with the transmit power.
  • Interference Aware Design of NOMA for Large-Scale 5G Networks

Proceedings 2018 4th International Conference on Computing Communication Control and Automation Iccubea 2018, 2018
As there is rapid increase in the field of mobile service technologies, the numbers of users are increasing drastically with respect to the access of mobile services. 3rd generation partnership projects LTE (3GPP) technology is the most absorbed technology for the users. It has dominant role with respect to increased data rate, video service, and other mobile services. The orthogonal multiple access unable to provide the high data rate, within scarce bandwidth, so the new technique is introduced namely, Non-orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA). NOMA is introduced as a non orthogonal multiple access which is a key component of 5G cellular networks. Many of the NOMA schemes proposed so far are unable to manage intercell interference efficiently, which is one of the performance limiting parameter in 5G networks. In this respect proposed measures negative impact of intercell interference on NOMA performance for resolving the same, interference aware design is discussed. In real time we neither neglect the interference nor we make it zero, hence minimization of interference for better system performance is proposed, hence to mitigate the interference Zero Forcing(ZF)equalization technique is used.
  • Dynamic spectrum allocation for hybrid access cognitive femtocell network
    Sanjyot Godase, Trupti Wagh
IEEE International Conference on Information Communication Instrumentation and Control Icicic 2017, 2017
The cognitive femtocell is an inspiring technology that solves the indoor coverage problem in future cellular networks also Cognitive radio (CR) support dynamic spectrum access. In this paper, a new dynamic spectrum allocation method for hybrid access cognitive femtocell is proposed. In the proposed method, the macro base station (BS) allocates a portion of subchannels to the femto access point (FAP) to serve the macro users (MUs). Then, the FAP allocates the subchannels and power to maximize the femtocell network utility, whereas the throughput of the served MUs is guaranteed. Moreover, there is problem of resource allocation and we formulate that problem as sum utility maximization problem and we solve the problem by using dual decomposition method.
  • FPGA implementation of Addition/Subtraction module for double precision floating point numbers using Verilog

2014 International Conference on Advances in Engineering and Technology Research Icaetr 2014, 2014
The floating point operations are critical to implement on FPGAs due to their complexity of their algorithms. Thus, many scientific problems require floating point arithmetic with high levels of accuracy in their calculations. Therefore, in this paper the proposed work is explored FPGA implementation of Addition/Subtraction for IEEE double precision floating point numbers. This kind of unit can be extremely useful in the FPGA implementation of complex systems that benefits from the parallelism of the FPGA device. The design is in Verilog Hardware description language (HDL) and implemented on FPGA. The verilog code first simulated with isim and synthesized on Xilinx ISE14.1i.
