GREEN DELIVERIES ON A BUDGET: HOW SUSTAINABILITY AND COST SHAPE VIETNAMESE E-COMMERCE CONSUMER CHOICES Seyed Amirhossein Shojaei, Alireza Pakgohar, Do Y Vy Tran Economics Innovative and Economics Research Journal, 2026 This exploratory research provides a study to examine the relationships between perceived sustainability (PS) and perceived cost (PC) on consumer attitudes (AT), intention to use (IU), and actual choice of delivery methods (DM) in e-commerce in Vietnam under Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. PS has a positive effect on AT, indicating that there is increasing ecological awareness, while PC has a negative effect on AT, indicating cost sensitivity. AT is a strong predictor of IU, but IU has little influence on DM. Instead, AT causes behaviour, and so the latter one suggests intrinsic values may drive sustainable behaviour more than intentions. Age and gender have no significant effect, but income negatively affects AT, consumers with higher income may see the existence of eco-friendly options as inconvenient. An Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) results reveal PS can be considered a high-performance strategic driver of AT and PC a barrier. The findings advise businesses to focus on sustainability communication and provide financial incentives to ease cost issues. Policymakers need to promote sustainable logistics adoption via subsidies and public-private partnerships to alleviate cost barriers and encourage green last-mile solutions through policies and incentives promoting affordability.
A COMPREHENSION OF THE BURR TYPE-II DISTRIBUTION BASED ON RECORDS: PROPERTIES, ESTIMATION AND PREDICTION Alireza Pakgohar, Parviz Nasiri Journal of Statistical Research, 2025 This article introduces the Burr Type-II distribution and derives various point estimates for unknown parameters based on record statistics. It also presents predictions for future record values from a Bayesian perspective, supported by a numerical study to illustrate the results. Furthermore, the article covers the properties of the Burr Type-II distribution and includes the calculation of entropy and extropy functions, as well as an investigation of stochastic orders such as usual stochastic order, likelihood ratio order, and hazard rate order. Journal of Statistical Research 2025, Vol. 59, No. 2, pp. 325-342
Sample Size Calculation Based on Research Approaches in Animal Studies Alireza Pakgohar Journal of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, 2023 Introduction: Sample sizes that are too small can produce inconclusive results, while sample sizes that are too large may raise ethical concerns and produce trivial outcomes. Ethical considerations of sample size calculation in animal studies are essential and researchers should consider the 3R approach. Therefore, accurately calculating the sample size is essential to ensure adequate statistical power and avoid wastage of resources. Methods: The paper presents several innovative approaches for conducting small-scale sampling in animal studies. It includes a comprehensive review of relevant literature, discussing various proposed methods for determining sample size in animal studiesResults: In this study, various formulas are available for preparing sample size calculations that are relevant to the research design. These include t-tests (for one sample and two independent/paired samples), ANOVA, ANCOVA, simple/multiple linear regression, as well as proportion studies and studies utilizing correlation coefficientsConclusion: Our aims to equip researchers with formulas for reliable findings and adherence to ethical principles for sample size calculating in animal studies.
Goodness of fit test using Lin-Wong divergence based on Type-I censored data A. Pakgohar, A. Habibirad, F. Yousefzadeh Communications in Statistics Simulation and Computation, 2020 Goodness of fit tests with two different methods are carried out in the present paper in order to recognize normal and exponential distributions within Type-I censored data. Here, we use the Lin-Wong divergence as our proposed measure of distance between distributions and compare its performance with that of other well known distance measures using an empirical distribution function and Shannon (1948 Shannon, C. E. 1948. A mathematical theory of communication. ACM Sigmobile Mobile Computing and Communications Review 5 (1):3–55.[Crossref] , [Google Scholar]), entropy concept. Furthermore, we present two real data analysis procedures using those proposed methods.
Lin–Wong divergence and relations on type I censored data A. Pakgohar, A. Habibirad, F. Yousefzadeh Communications in Statistics Theory and Methods, 2019 Divergence measures are statistical tools designed to distinguish between the information provided by distribution functions of f(x) and g(x). The magnitude of divergence has been defined using a variety of methods such as Shannon entropy and other mathematical functions through a history of more than a century. In the present study, we have briefly explained the Lin–Wong divergence measure and compared it to other statistical information such as the Kullback-Leibler, Bhattacharyya and χ2 divergence as well as Shannon entropy and Fisher information on Type I censored data. Besides, we obtain some inequalities for the Lin–Wong distance and the mentioned divergences on the Type I censored scheme. Finally, we identified a number of ordering properties for the Lin–Wong distance measure based on stochastic ordering, likelihood ratio ordering and hazard rate ordering techniques.

Logistic regression approach in road defects impact on accident severity Mohadeseh Khalili, Alireza Pakgohar Journal of Emerging Technologies in Web Intelligence, 2013 Safety and accident issues are considered as an important problem in the world. Road transportation issues would have a more conspicuous countenance in the country of Iran in which, over 94 percent of all transportations take place through roads. The roads’ contribution to the traffic accidents at mean is 24 percent however this value is 36 percent in Iran. Road traffic crashes exert a huge burden on Iran's economy and health care services. Many parameters, safety signs and equipment, Vertical and horizontal arc combination along the road and all the effective factors in decreasing the accidents, are considered when determining the safety level of the roads. Road defect is being considered as one of the essential factors causing accidents to happen. This article investigates the severity factor of the accident according to the vehicle movability situation after the accident. The results of this research has shown that most important factors reducing the safety on the suburban roads in Iran is “insufficient road width” pertaining to frequency and “Level difference between road & shoulder” pertaining to accident severity.
Infant jaundice epidemiology investigation: Case study: Meybod and Ardakan in Yazd province; Iran Alireza Pakgohar, Kobra Khajepoor Firoozabadi Icssbe 2012 Proceedings 2012 International Conference on Statistics in Science Business and Engineering Empowering Decision Making with Statistical Sciences, 2012 Jaundice is one of the most common neonate diseases on the first days of birth, caused by hyperbilirubinaemia of blood; and if it is failed to be controlled, it may lead to kernicterus and probable death, or severe neurotic defeats. The purpose of this study is an investigation on different reasons of neonate jaundice, including physical and environmental reasons. Methodology: Method of this study is descriptive and the participants of the research are all the neonates below 30 days, brought to one of the clinics in Meybod and Ardakan in Yazd province. Sampling method is randomly selected and sample size is 98. Information about participants age, sex, child health condition in birth, jaundice case history in child's life, his parents, sisters, brothers, type of childbearing, family economical situation, educational level of parents, the time of disease affection (month, season and year) and other general variations were recorded using a questionnaire, prepared for this purpose. Data analysis was done through V-Cramer, chi square test and CART model. The CART model with the accuracy of 73% revealed that three variations namely, jaundice case history in other children, child sex and the time of disease affection have meaningful relationship with the topic under investigation. Conclusion: Infant jaundice has relationship with child sex and jaundice case history in family, while no meaningful relation was observed between jaundice and parent's disease case history. The rate of Jaundice affection in summer is observed to be more than that in winter causing accidents to happen.
A probabilistic relational model for keyword extraction Alireza Pakgohar, Mohadeseh Khalili Icssbe 2012 Proceedings 2012 International Conference on Statistics in Science Business and Engineering Empowering Decision Making with Statistical Sciences, 2012 A large portion of real-world data is stored relational. In constant, most statistical learning methods work only with “flat” data representations. Probabilistic relational models (PRMs) is one of the models considers the characteristics of relational data. PRMs allow the properties of an object to depend probabilistically both on other properties of that object and on properties of related objects. In this paper an attempt is made to heed keywords extraction. The keywords are not only essential for academic papers but also important for web page retrieval, text mining, and document classification. In this paper, a C++ algorithm is presented to extract keywords. The algorithm generates and extracts keywords from a poetry book. The C++ programming language is used to implement our algorithm in order to obtain experimental results. The results indicate that “Love”, “Heart”, and “Eyes” are the most important keywords of the selected book.
