Optimizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) for perishable products with iso-elastic demand and linear deterioration using preservation technology and supply chain visibility through digital tools Chandan Kumar Sahoo, Kailash Chandra Paul, Ratikantadas Adhikari, Surendra Kumar, Shiva Ram Patnaik Navigating Digital Disruption Strategies for Sustainable Business Management, 2026 This study proposes an ideal EOQ model for perishing items that takes into account linear product deterioration, iso-elastic demand, and the use of preservation measures. Supply chains that deal with perishable goods have time-sensitive demands, which causes them to deteriorate gradually over time and lead to serious inventory management issues. In addition, this study integrates supply chain visibility through the use of digital tools to enhance real-time monitoring and decision-making. Cloud-based supply chain management platforms supply a fully integrated, scalable platform to manage a retailer’s entire inventory, demand, and preservation conditions from the supplier down to retailers. This model is perfect for the exploitation of all these insights towards an optimized flow of goods and a reduction in spoilage and costs. The model enhances supply chain visibility to ensure better coordination, responsiveness, and scalability for businesses to dynamically adjust to market changes, optimize inventory, and improve the efficiency of perishable product handling. Illustrated the model with numerical example and Sensitivity analysis is used to explain the features of the model.

Naive Modified Ratio Estimator of Population Mean Using Linear Combination of Robust and Non-Robust Auxiliary Parameters Mehdi Ali, Subhash Kumar Yadav, Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Surendra Kumar, Sukhvir Singh Lobachevskii Journal of Mathematics, 2025 This article introduces an innovative adjusted estimator of ratio-type of the explanatory variable’s population mean, utilizing both traditional and unconventional auxiliary parameters. Frequently, data analysis encounters the challenge of outliers. To address this issue, a resilient measure of the auxiliary variable, unaffected by outliers is employed. We derive the bias and mean squared error (MSE) of the suggested estimator till the first-order approximation. An optimal value for the defining scalar is determined, yielding the minimum MSE for this optimal constant. The suggested estimator is scrutinized against the rival estimators. The efficiency conditions of the recommended estimator are obtained over the rival estimators. These efficiency conditions are substantiated through examination with a real dataset as well as simulated datasets, demonstrating an enhancement compared to alternative estimators.
Investigations Into the Outbreak of Chandipura Virus Encephalitis, Gujarat, India, 2024 Chandhu Balachandran, Snehal Prakash Chavan, Avinash R. Deoshatwar, Ullas Padinjaremattathil Thankappan, Dilip R. Patil, Pradip M. Sawant, Surendra Kumar, Irrusappan Hari, Anisha Pulinchani, Yash Paul Sharma, Kamalesh Upadhyay, Amit Kanani, Jayesh M. Katira, Datta K. Butte, Daya Pavitrakar, Kunal Sakhare, Shubhangi Mahamuni, Manisha M. Tupekar, Shalu Garg, Pranvi Saxena, Kiran Dattu Waghale, Sharanya Shankar, Sanyukta Santosh Sharma, Shraddha Ratnakar, Prafulla Sonowane, Sachin Dhaygude, Naveen Kumar, Vijay Parashramji Bondre Journal of Medical Virology, 2025 Chandipura virus, a Vesiculovirus, was first identified in India during an outbreak investigation of acute febrile illness in 1965. The virus first gained global attention after being implicated as the causative agent of an outbreak of acute viral encephalitis characterized by rapid clinical deterioration and death, in 2003. Since then, the virus has caused multiple outbreaks in central and western Indian states. During July 2024, an increased incidence of acute encephalitis was reported from Gujarat state. In response an outbreak investigation was carried out and Chandipura virus was identified as the major etiology, accounting for 23.45% of the cases. Clinically, the disease was characterized by rapid progression of illness, with total duration of illness ranging from 24 to 72 h in majority of the cases. Vomiting was found to be significantly more in cases of Chandipura viral encephalitis. In the current outbreak, multiorgan dysfunction was identified as a complication in Chandipura infections. Serum glutamic‐pyruvic transaminase and creatinine were found to be significantly elevated in cases of Chandipura encephalitis, compared to other etiologies of acute viral encephalitis. The case fatality rate in the current outbreak was 47.36%. Among the samples collected during the investigations, 69% humans and 8.76% animal samples tested positive for neutralizing antibodies against Chandipura virus. Fever surveillance during the outbreak also identified Chandipura IgM positive cases without neurological involvement, raising the possibility of Chandipura febrile illness. Phylogenetic analysis of the isolate from 2024 indicates similarity with isolates obtained during 2012 and 2014 from Gujarat.
