Enhancing Student Engagement and Learning Outcomes in Higher Education through E-Learning and Restricted Boltzmann Machines Nadeem Pasha K, Budhavarapu Hari Kumar, Rahulkumar Madhukar Sonar, Anil Kumar Lamba, V. S. Murthy Valiveti, Gourav Kalra 3rd International Conference on Data Science and Information System Icdsis 2025, 2025 It is essential to investigate the impact of E-learning on student involvement and academic performance, as it is increasingly prevalent in higher education. This study examines a blended-learning undergraduate course that integrates traditional classroom instruction with a VLE to assess the impact of online participation on students' academic performance. The significance of examining the effects of online education on student achievement is paramount, given its rapid expansion. To analyse engagement patterns, various data pretreatment techniques were employed, including encoding, normalisation, and addressing missing data. The highest level of education attained by students, their final grades, assessment outcomes, and participation in VLE activities were utilised as input variables. A suggestion was made for a model utilising RBM to predict academic performance and the probability of dropout. Each additional hour dedicated to online learning correlated with a statistically significant enhancement in student performance, as per the findings. The proposed RBM model accurately predicted academic outcomes with a precision rate of 98.78%. Higher education institutions are urged to implement data-driven tactics to enhance virtual learning environments and elevate student success rates, as these findings underscore the importance of E-learning in augmenting student engagement and learning outcomes.

Suganthi 1st International Conference on Electronics Computing Communication and Control Technology Iceccc 2024, 2024 Optimal home energy utilization and the development of residential segment renewable energy systems are two problems that might be addressed by interacting energy systems in smart homes. Reduced grid electricity usage, particularly during peak hours, increased economic efficiency, user satisfaction (via power seller/purchaser choice), and consumer engagement in energy management are the primary goals of these energy interactions. Performing preprocessing, feature selection, and model training in the proper order is of the utmost importance. Using these measures for data preparation can lead to erroneous model interpretations or lower model performance. Principal component analysis (PCA) is a well-liked method for feature selection that uses linear transformation to reduce the dimension of data in a high-dimensional feature space. When contrasted with the cutting-edge LSTM and AE, this method seems to be quite innovative. A considerable improvement in accuracy, reaching 97.50%, was demonstrated by the results.
