The Imperative Relationship between Architecture, Urban Design and Development and Disaster Management Atul Dutta, Ambuj Kumar Ecs Transactions, 2022 The increasing frequency of disasters, combined with a variety of emerging hazards and patterns, exposes an ever-increasing number of people to disaster repercussions, resulting in greater damages and vulnerability around the world. The goal of this research is to find out the role of architecture, urban design, and development interventions to help in catastrophe recovery and management. The literature was examined in order to discover the many ways in which these disciplines complement one another and after analyses and synthesis various approaches and gaps were identified and summarized in the paper. Professionals in these sectors may play a significant role in disaster management, and as a result, disaster management and sustainable development must be approached collaboratively.
Factors Influencing the Policy Formulations & Strategies for Disaster Risk Reduction Atul Dutta, Ambuj Kumar Ecs Transactions, 2022 Disasters are evolving and creating impacts in new shapes and sizes with each passing year. Identification and clear understanding of the various significant factors is required for the development of appropriate policies and strategies for disaster risk reduction. There were few empirical investigations that established causative variables in the desired field. The literature was reviewed in the research area with due consideration to multidisciplinary nature of disaster management and after analyses and synthesis recurring factors were identified and summarized in the paper. Understanding underlying factors having influence on formulations of various strategies and policies can add new dimensions and values to the multidisciplinary nature of disaster management.
