Andre Luis Souza dos Santos
André is currently a Full Professor in the Department of General Microbiology at the Paulo de Góes Institute of Microbiology at UFRJ, a Level 1A Research Productivity Fellow of CNPq, a “Scientist of Our State” of FAPERJ, and has appeared in recent years in the “Top 2% Scientists in the World” – Elsevier/Stanford List. André collaborates with numerous international institutions (Ireland, Austria, France, Portugal, England, South Africa, Nigeria, China, Iran, and Australia). Main productivity indicators include: 333 articles published in internationally indexed journals, 15 book chapters, 2 prefaces, 2 books, 9 patents filed, 7 editorial works, and an H-index of 47 (7810 citations, Google Scholar). Completed advisements/co-advisements include: 13 postdoctoral researchers, 27 doctoral theses, 38 master’s dissertations and 30 undergraduate final advises/co-advises: 2 postdocs, 12 PhD students, 5 master’s students, 11 undergraduate research students, and 2 technicians.

EDUCATION

André Santos holds a technical degree in Biotechnology (Federal Technical School of Chemistry, 1990–1994), a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences: Microbiology and Immunology (March 1994 to February 1999) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and a Master’s (March 1999 to May 2000) and PhD (June 2000 to March 2002) in Microbiology from UFRJ.
