Data Discovery as a Service for Data Lake H V Sreepathy, B Dinesh Rao, J Mohan Kumar, B Deepak Rao 2nd IEEE International Conference on Networks Multimedia and Information Technology Nmitcon 2024, 2024 Data Lake (DL) is a low-cost big-data architecture designed to centralize an organization’s data, enabling the extraction of valuable insights and economic benefits. To effectively manage, describe, and discover these data assets, data catalog tools are essential. These tools utilize metadata to inventory data assets, allowing end-users to search, query, and locate datasets within the Data Lake. Existing data catalogs do not provide the necessary context or descriptive statistics of datasets, hindering the efficient and insightful utilization of data. Furthermore, it struggles to categorize data based on context or domain during ingestion and lack the necessary automation and scalability to support modern data stacks. This work proposes integrating Data Discovery as a Service(DDaaS) into Data Lake. The Data Discovery service, developed using Plotly-Dash, is an interactive web dashboard integrated into a data lake. DDaaS assists end-users in discovering structured datasets based on domain. Service provides descriptive statistics of data using interactive visualization and pre-computed statistical views to describe data. DDaaS reduces latency in locating related datasets and describes trends, patterns, and insights. To validate the proposed Data Discovery as a Service (DDaaS) features, a comparative study is conducted, corraborating its attributes with those of existing data catalog systems. This study aims to demonstrate DDaaS’s superiority in context-based categorization and the provision of descriptive statistics. Performance validation is executed by measuring the resource consumption of each service component, including metrics such as CPU usage, memory consumption, to ensure operational efficiency. Additionally, the efficacy of DDaaS is assessed by evaluating the latency of its descriptive statistics methods across datasets from diverse domains and varying record sizes. This evaluation ensures that DDaaS can deliver timely and accurate statistical descriptions, confirming its robustness and effectiveness in handling datasets of different natures and scales.
Design an efficient data driven decision support system to predict flooding by analysing heterogeneous and multiple data sources using Data Lake Sreepathy H V, B Dinesh Rao, Mohan Kumar J, B Deepak Rao Methodsx, 2023 Floods are the most common natural disaster in several countries throughout the world. Flooding has a major impact on people's lives and livelihoods. The impact of flood disasters on human lives can be mitigated by developing effective flood forecasting and prediction models. The majority of flood prediction models do not take all flood-causing factors into account when they are designed. It is difficult to collect and handle some of these flood-causing variables since they are heterogeneous in nature. This paper presents a new big data architecture called Data Lake, which can ingest and store all important flood-causing heterogeneous data sources in their raw format for machine learning model creation. The statistical relevance of important flood producing factors on flood prediction outcome is determined utilizing inferential statistical approaches. The outcome of this research is to create flood warning systems that can alert the public and government officials so that they can make decisions in the event of a severe flood, reducing socioeconomic loss. •Flood causing factors are from heterogeneous sources, so there is no big data architecture for handling variety of data sources.•To provide data architectural solution using data lake for collecting and analysing heterogeneous flood causing factors.•Uses inferential statistical approach to determine importance of different flood causing factors in design of efficient flood prediction models.

Any data will have an inside story when it is addressed with relevant query. In this paper, GitHub data is collected, cleansed and visualized for its repository parameters on various questions. GitHub being the platform for many developers is not only used for version controlling their project but also for sharing it. Through this technique the inside story and the use of GitHub is seen.

The organizations are also using GitHub for their project development. As a huge set of users are involved, it leads researchers to analyze the GitHub data. GitHub provides the API (Application programmable interface), to collect its data related to its repository. In our work, the collected data is extensively queried and data is visualized. In this paper, a descriptive analysis is done GitHub data. The results give a lot of insight on the GitHub usage.
Cost effective road accident prevention system J Mohan Kumar, Rishabh Mahajan, Deeksha Prabhu, Debasmita Ghose Proceedings of the 2016 2nd International Conference on Contemporary Computing and Informatics Ic3i 2016, 2016 In the current scenario one of the major causes of road accidents in the world is the fact that after driving hundreds of kilometers at a stretch, the driver feels drowsy and eventually dozes off while driving or they are not aware of the environment they might just be entering. They might also be unaware of any defect in their cars. There is an alarming increase in hit and run cases caused by drivers driving under the influence of alcohol. So, there is a pressing need of a device which prevents this, so that a lot of lives can be saved every day. Safety is the primary concern for humans. When it comes to driving, we need to be extra cautious. So, this project aims at developing an affordable solution to these safety concerns. The proposed system will be mounted on a car, in front of the driver's seat, which will continuously focus on the person driving the vehicle thereby monitoring the person's actions and give voice messages to the driver, instructing him about the safety procedures every time he comes inside the car. If he found to be drowsy, he is alerted by a voice message telling him that he is drowsy and he should stop the car. If he is found to be under the influence of alcohol or tailgating while driving, the GPS coordinates of the car along with the details of the car, are sent to the nearest control room, so that appropriate action can be taken by the police. So, this system has the capability of ensuring the driver's safety along with the co-passengers and can easily be integrated with the existing safety systems in the car. This will also enhance overall road safety, by reporting any kind of reckless driving to the nearest control room. In future, it can be enforced by law for every car to have such a safety system installed for driver and passenger protection. Hence the system is a complete solution which prevents accidents, so that a lot of lives can be saved every day.

Most of the time is spend on converting the data from decimal to binary, processing and converting back to decimal. The direct production of decimal sum offers a significant improvement in addition over methods requiring decimal correction. Here is the proposition which will reduce the conversion and processing time. This work is the extension of Alp Arslan Bayracci and Ahmet Akkas et al of reduced delay Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) adder. In some corner case, adder design was misbehaving and has been corrected and presented.
