Next Generation Mechanisms for Data Encryption, 2025
The increasing integration of devices utilising the of Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare has resulted in the collection of an unparalleled volume of patient data. Personal identifiers, insurance information, medical history, and health monitoring measures are all included in a complete dataset. Ensuring security and privacy of IoT devices is crucial in the healthcare sector. The goal of this project is to combine steganography with three different cryptographic algorithms to develop a hybrid cryptographic technique. Among the algorithms under investigation are steganography, Caesar cipher, columnar transposition cipher, and one-time pad. Every encryption scheme uses three keys to encrypt patient data. The encrypted data is subsequently encoded into an image file through image-based steganography. To ensure confidentiality and authentication, an authorised user can decrypt the file through a designated decryption process, maintaining the integrity of patient data.
  • Quantum cryptography: An in-depth exploration of principles and techniques
    Sowjanya K. Krishna, Madavi K. P. Bindu
Next Generation Mechanisms for Data Encryption, 2025
Quantum cryptography is evolving in the field of data security and cryptographic research, as it offers a high level of security based on the principles of quantum mechanics. This chapter provides an extensive understanding and in-depth explanation about the basic concepts of the techniques implemented in quantum cryptography. The exploration of the fundamental concepts begins with elaboration on the foundational concepts of quantum mechanics, such as no-cloning, entanglement, superposition, and quantum state measurement, which are crucial for the better understanding of quantum cryptography. Further, the chapter delves more into the quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols such as BB84, BBM92, and B92. All the QKD protocols are analysed and compared based on the underlying principles and techniques. Furthermore, the importance and benefits of the integration of quantum cryptography with the traditional algorithms are also discussed. The chapter also aims to provide thorough study of quantum cryptography principles, challenges, and future directions along with a detailed comprehensive review of quantum cryptographic techniques.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack makes a server inaccessible by flooding it with fallacious traffic. It uses many intermediate devices such as computers, servers, smartphones, and even IoT Devices to generate false traffic. These attacks become more threatening if the attackers use any of these devices to have access to WiFi routers, security cameras, smart devices, etc. This paper proposes a model for DDoS attack detection and mitigation that identifies the DDoS attack and alerts the administrative authorities with the help of machine learning classification algorithms. The paper surveys discrete types of Machine Learning algorithms to identify and mitigate the DDoS attack. Three labeled datasets are employed in this paper to train the model for effective DDOS attack detection with better accuracy. These data sets comprises of benign and malignant attacks to train and test the classification algorithms. Based on the experimental results and performance metrics, it is identified that the XGBoost algorithm provided better accuracy of 99.8% on all three labeled datasets.
  • Attention-Enhanced Vision Transformer Model for Precise Skin Cancer Detection
VN Manju, Dayana D S, Neha Patwari, Bindu Madavi K P, Krishna Sowjanya K
Proceedings of 2025 International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Computing and Communication Etcc 2025, 2025
Skin cancer is one of the most prevalent and potentially fatal diseases, requiring early and accurate detection for effective treatment. Recent advances in deep learning have significantly improved automated skin lesion classification, but traditional Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) struggle with capturing long-range dependencies in dermoscopic images. To address this limitation, we propose a Preprocessing-Optimized Vision Transformer (ViT) Model that enhances lesion detection using attention-based feature fusion. Our methodology includes contrast enhancement (CLAHE), hair removal (DullRazor), lesion segmentation (K-Means + Otsu's Thresholding), and data augmentation, ensuring robust model training. The proposed Attention-Enhanced ViT Model effectively learns global contextual features from dermoscopic images through self-attention mechanisms. The proposed model is evaluated our model on the ISIC Skin Cancer Dataset, achieving an accuracy of 94.6%, precision of 92.8%, recall of 93.5%, and an AUC-ROC score of 0.97, outperforming traditional CNN-based models such as ResNet50 (92.1 % accuracy) and EfficientNet-B0 (93.3% accuracy). Our results demonstrate that integrating preprocessing techniques with Vision Transformers significantly enhances classification performance, making this approach a viable solution for real-world computer-aided dermatology.
  • Dynamic Load Balancing in Cloud Computing Using Memetic Algorithm for Better Response Time
K Krishna Sowjanya, K P Bindu Madavi, Gaurav Khater, Aaron Jacob, Emaduddin Shamim Ahmad
Proceedings of 2025 IEEE International Conference on Contemporary Computing and Communications Inc4 2025, 2025
Load balancing is a critical aspect of distributed computing systems, involving the distribution of workload across multiple resources to ensure optimal utilization and performance. In today’s digital landscape, where the demand for online services continues to grow exponentially, efficient load balancing mechanisms are indispensable for maintaining high availability, scalability, and reliability of web applications, cloud services, and network infrastructures. The paper implements a load balancing solution using a Memetic Algorithm, an amalgamated optimization method that integrates elements of genetic algorithms with local search methods. By leveraging the principles of evolutionary computation and problem-specific knowledge, memetic algorithms offer a promising approach to addressing the complex optimization and the hurdles connected with the load distribution across the systems. The proposed algorithm is compared with the existing algorithms and proved to be slightly better than the traditional algorithm in terms of response time. Experimental results show that the proposed approach reduces response time by 0.26 seconds.

Public transport is a major obstacle for the visually impaired, and it tends to limit their independence and mobility. To overcome this problem, the current project presents an IoT-based bus identification and distance notification system that is meant to offer real-time support and improve the traveling experience of the visually impaired commuters. The system uses a Raspberry Pi controller in combination with an RFID reader and several RFID cards, each one of which is designated for a particular bus, to detect oncoming vehicles. A GPS unit monitors the position of the bus at all times, so it is possible to calculate exact distances to any of the stops. For additional convenience, the system includes three push-button switches programmed to three predetermined bus stops. Users may pick their destination stop, and the system will offer auditory feedback in terms of distance to the selected destination. Feedback is offered by an earphone, providing hands-free use and receiving instructions without visual interaction. The integration of RFID-based bus identification, GPS location, and voice guidance provides smooth real-time information, less reliant on outside help. The system increases mobility confidence through accurate, timely, and convenient information, enabling blind travelers to make use of public transport independently. Through the combination of IoT technology and assistive technologies, the project enables enhanced accessibility and inclusion in urban mobility systems.
