  • A Counter-Propagation Based Neuro Solution Model for Categorization and Fee Fixation of Engineering Institutions
Krishna Kumar Nirala, Nikhil Kumar Singh, Vinay Shivshanker Purani
Robotics and Automation in Industry 4 0 Smart Industries and Intelligent Technologies, 2024
The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is one of the most highly effective tools among available artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and is used to model the complex and nonlinear behavior of a variety of problems. For each of these existing network algorithms, fast convergence while learning and accurate prediction during testing is vital for its selection. Improvement in these parameters is continuously researched and it is a current objective of many researchers. Due to its inherent flexibility of customizable algorithms of different components, ANN becomes the choice of researchers for accurate prediction in complex and nonlinear problem conditions. To assess the engineering institute category and the fixation of its fees without human intervention, a neural network approach is recommended in this paper. Training patterns are generated based on different types of institutes with the extent of merit in admission, the extent of quality of education through the availability of teachers, and results and accreditation, placement, and expenditure made by the institute, using arbitrary data framed for about 100 institutions in-line with the institutes existing in Gujarat State. More than 250 training patterns were generated for training six different Counter-Propagation Networks (CPNs). The trained networks suggest the college class ranging in six categories from Best to Poor and predict the fee based on six different trained CPNs. Categorization of six different extents is normally done by inspecting colleges, self-declaration statements, admission merits, university results, placements, audited statements, position filled and cadre ratio, etc. of various engineering colleges. Based on the empirical values obtained for the various combination of the colleges, training, and testing patterns for six different CPNs were prepared. The separate learning in supervised and unsupervised modes with fixed network architecture and parameters offers an excellent and fast convergence during training and accurate prediction at the time of testing. In this paper, an innovative concept for prediction of the category of engineering college and fixation of its fee is implemented by developing six different independent CPNs, one for each extent which is responsible and influential in its discovery. The training data sets are generated from empirical combinations of institutes and actual existing data bases. After training the network, the CPN is used to predict the category and fee of the engineering college and suggest the key indicators too. The power of a graphical user interface (GUI) is used with interactive front and back processing developed in the present work under a visual C++ environment to facilitate input and output. A CPN approach demonstrates satisfactory reproduction of results obtained by rigorous manual process and proves its superiority while comparing results with Back Propagation Network (BPN).
  • A survey on providing customer and public administration based services using AI: chatbot
Krishna Kumar Nirala, Nikhil Kumar Singh, Vinay Shivshanker Purani
    Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2022
A chatbot is emerged as an effective tool to address the user queries in automated, most appropriate and accurate way. Depending upon the complexity of the subject domain, researchers are employing variety of soft-computing techniques to make the chatbot user-friendly. It is observed that chatbots have flooded the globe with wide range of services including ordering foods, suggesting products, advising for insurance policies, providing customer support, giving financial assistance, schedule meetings etc. However, public administration based services wherein chatbot intervention influence the most, is not explored yet. This paper discuses about artificial intelligence based chatbots including their applications, challenges, architecture and models. It also talks about evolution of chatbots starting from Turing Test and Rule-based chatbots to advanced Artificial Intelligence based Chatbots (AI-Chatbots). AI-Chatbots are providing much kind of services, which this paper outlines into two main aspects including customer based services and public administration based services. The purpose of this survey is to understand and explore the possibility of customer & public administration services based chatbot. The survey demonstrates that there exist an immense potential in the AI assisted chatbot system for providing customer services and providing better governance in public administration services.
