Sheldon Wang
Dr. Sheldon (Xiaodong) Wang is a tenured Full Professor at McCoy School of Engineering at Midwestern State University (MSU), a Texas Tech University System member. He has worked in the Institute of Paper Science and Technology (currently, Renewable Bioproducts Institute at Georgia Tech), Polytechnic University (currently, Tandon School of Engineering at New York University), and Department of Mathematical Sciences at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) as a faculty member before joining MSU in 2009 as the Chair and Professor of McCoy School of Engineering. Prof. Wang is the author of around 50 journal papers. He is also the author of the research monograph Fundamentals of Fluid-Solid Interactions Analytical and Computational Approaches published by Elsevier Science in 2008 (ISBN 978-0444528070), the textbook Essential Mathematical Tools for Engineers published by Sentia Publishing in 2022 (ISBN 979-8-9907131-5-4), and the research monograph Immersed Methods for Coupled Continua.

EDUCATION

He received his B.S. degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering in 1988 from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, his M.S. in Ocean Engineering in 1993, and his Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics in 1995 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
