Prolonged sitting is often associated with poor posture, hunched shoulder posture (HSP), which may alter the mechanical properties of key muscles such as the upper trapezius (UT) and middle trapezius (MT). This study aimed to investigate the effect of HSP on the elasticity of the UT and MT muscles during a sitting task and to gain insight into the musculoskeletal risks associated with postural errors while sitting. Thirty‐four asymptomatic individuals participated in this study between the ages of 25 and 40, who led sedentary lifestyles with 7 h of sedentary activity per day. None of the participants had a history of neurological, systemic, or musculoskeletal diseases that may affect muscle function. The MyotonPRO device was used to measure UT and MT muscle elasticity during normal shoulder posture (NSP) and HSP. Statistical analyses were performed to compare the mechanical properties of the UT and MT muscles across the different postural groups. The findings revealed that the mean elasticity of the UT increased from 1.25 (±0.30) under NSP to 1.30 (±0.32) under HSP. The MT exhibited a more pronounced change, with mean elasticity rising from 1.73 (±0.30) under NSP to 2.12 (±0.34) under HSP. These results indicate significant adaptations in muscle elasticity due to poor postural alignment, suggesting a compensatory response to the mechanical demands of HSP (p < 0.001). The study highlights the detrimental effects of hunched posture on the mechanical properties of the upper and MT muscles, emphasizing the need for ergonomic interventions to promote better postural alignment among sedentary workers. Regular breaks and exercises aimed at improving posture are recommended to mitigate the risks associated with prolonged poor posture, ultimately enhancing worker well‐being and productivity.

Abstract Future computing systems will likely require reversible logic gates since, in the best of circumstances; they are known to provide zero power dissipation. Reversible logic gates also have the advantage of minimizing quantum costs and unused outputs. In this work, reversible 2 : 1 multiplexer has been implemented using all-optical microring resonator. Reversible multiplexer is simulated in MATLAB at 260 Gbps. Some performance indicating factors such as “extinction ratio”, “contrast ratio”, “relative eye opening”, etc are analyzed and developed. The chosen optimal parameters can be validated practically.

This study presents a multi-target machine learning approach using Random Forest classifiers to predict cervical cancer risk factors based on the UCI Cervical Cancer Risk Factors dataset. The model concurrently predicts multiple clinical outcomes (Schiller, Cytology, Biopsy, and Hinselmann), enhancing predictive efficiency and addressing practical healthcare needs. SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) analysis improves interpretability by quantifying the influence of individual features on each target variable. A feature importance assessment reveals that "Age" and "Number of Sexual Partners" significantly impact model performance, as evidenced by variations in AUC-ROC scores upon their exclusion. The model achieves high predictive accuracy, with AUC-ROC scores of 95.77% for Hinselmann target. This study integrates explainable AI techniques, feature relevance analysis, and visual analytics to support clinical decision-making and improve cervical cancer risk assessment.

Nearly 40 millions of people across the globe are blind indicating a significant challenge as per records of World Health Organization (WHO). This work focuses on solving the visual problems of individual persons by using a microcontroller, an ultrasonic sensor, RFID reader and other associated components for detection of objects during shopping in departmental stores within a specified range of distance. The system gives a sound alert to the blind person about the obstacle whenever any object is detected. This arrangement improves the quality of life for visually challenged persons by means of detection of obstacles and aids them to go for shopping in various places. The provision of sound alert on detection of obstacles is an economical and efficient strategy. The arrangement also includes implementation of RFID technology. A Bluetooth module is meant for feeding the voice information of the customer once the trolley moves in automatic manner. The servo motors are employed to transit the trolley in the departmental stores and operated in the direction of customer requirements. The above system can be extended for different applications such as vehicle parking systems, robotics and automated systems
  • A Novel Approach for Improved Load Balancing and Interference Reduction in Wireless Networks using OFDMA
    SS Saravana Kumar, K Umapathy
Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
The quality of service offered to the user equipment in Multihop cellular networks with proper connection is affected severely due to the fading effects. These fading effects can lead to link loss between the user equipment (UE) and base station. This problem is severe when the UE traveling inside of tunnel, forests and big buildings. The duration of the link loss may vary from seconds to hours. Link loss management can control the link loss, increase the coverage area and signal quality in cell boundaries. It requires predictive power and link scheduling in cell sectors and signal quality enhancement at cell boundaries using filters. Interference Coordination and Load Balancing at base station and UE algorithm is used. This paper introduces a link loss management algorithm with load balancing to provide seamless service to users and this increases the Quality of Service (QoS) of safety critical communications.

In this paper presents the implementation of wavelet based medical image fusion on FPGA is performed using high level language C. The high- level instruction set of the image processor is based on the operation of image algebra like convolution, additive max-min, and multiplicative max-min. The above parameters are used to increase the speed. The FPGA based microprocessor is used to accelerate the extraction of texture features and high level C programming language is used for hardware design. This proposed hardware architecture reduces the hardware utilizations and best suitable for low power applications. The paper describes the programming interface of the user and outlines the approach for generating FPGA architectures dynamically for the image co-processor. It also presents sample implementation results (speed, area) for different neighborhood operations.
  • Enhancing varying overhead ad hoc on demand distance vector with artificial ants

    Jurnal Teknologi, 2015
A cluster of mobile hosts installed with a wireless transceiver form a Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET), without base stations. Wireless ad hoc networks routing protocols usually focus on finding paths with minimum hop count. In a MANET, a route may suddenly be broken when a host roams away. Even if a route is connected, it may worsen due to host mobility or a better route being formed new in the system. Current protocols stick to a fixed route between a source - destination pair when discovered and it continues till it expires or is broken. A routing algorithm chooses better paths by considering wireless links quality. However, in large networks link quality from source to destination provides multiple options in space domain and finding local minima is crucial for successful routing implementation. This study extends the Varying Overhead Ad hoc On demand Distance Vector (VO-AODV) by introducing an optimization parameter using Ant Colony Optimization (ACO).
