Synthesis, Characterization and Antibacterial Activity of Pyrazole Derivatives Featuring Thiazole Frameworks Noor F. Abbas, Nasreen R. Jber Al Nahrain Journal of Science, 2025 This work investigates the possible antibacterial characteristics of pyrazole derivatives, including thiazole frameworks. Mass spectrometry, infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, and other spectroscopic methods were used to confirm the structures of the produced compounds. These compounds 'antimicrobial activity was assessed against different bacteria and fungi.Anumberofthecompoundshadnoteworthyantibacterialandantifungalproperties,andseveraloftheirderivativesshowedincreased efficacy in comparison to conventional reference medications. According to a Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR) investigation, the pyrazole and thiazole rings' particular substituents were crucial in boosting the antibacterial activity. According to these results, pyrazole-thiazolehybridsarepromisingcandidatesforcreatingantimicrobial drugs.
Chemistry of Triazene-Liquid Crystals: A Review , Zahraa M. Abdulhameed, Nasreen R. Jber, and Al Nahrain Journal of Science, 2025 This review focuses on star-shaped liquid crystals that possess a highly organized and elongated molecular design, which enables them to exhibit favorable ferroelectric and ionic conductivity functions due to the electron delocalization resulting from π-π stacking conjugation and the electrostatic attraction of ions. The motivation for creating an ionic liquid crystal with a nematic phase is due to its potential engineering uses. The nematic phase is recognized for having the highest fluidity among all liquid crystalline phases. This makes it possible to position the nematic phase by applying an external electric or magnetic field widely utilized in electro-optical electronics. The chemistry of liquid crystals, specifically the state chemistry of matter, involves compounds of chemicals containing features of liquid crystals. Biological sensors made from liquid crystal materials enable monitoring biological phenomena without labels. Liquid crystalline polymers are employed to replicate color-generating structures. Liquid crystal compounds are commonly known as a distinct state; however, their impact on contemporary proceduresh as been significant. Derived from cholesterol, liquid crystals are molecules often studied and handled by biologists and biomedical engineers.
Modification of poly(Y-Dex-MBA) hydrogel by maleic anhydride and its use for the release of cephalexin and guaifenesin. Hussien M. Soodi, Nasreen R. Jber, Noor M. Ali Journal of Bioscience and Applied Research, 2025 In this research, the surface of yellow dextrin was modified with maleic anhydride, and the hydrogel was formed using N, N-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker. Hydroxyl radicals were generated using the Fenton method, and then the hydroxyl radicals oxidized the remaining hydroxyl groups on the yellow dextrin to produce yellow dextrin radicals. Radical polymerization occurs due to the presence of two alkene groups at the ends of the(MBA) linker, which interact with the yellow dextrin radicals. The modified hydrogel was characterized using infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (HNMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for surface morphology. 40 mg of cephalexin and 60 mg of guaifenesin were loaded into 0.1 g of the modified hydrogel, separately for each. Finally, swelling and drug release tests were performed in different pH media, like phosphate buffer saline (PBS), at 37°C.Yellow dextrin is a polysaccharide of natural origin, a low-molecular-weight, with the chemical formula (C6H10O5) n. Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of the Antimicrobial Activity of a New [1,2,4] Triazolo [3,4-B] [1,3,4] Thiadiazoles Derivatives , Karrar M. Juaila, Nasreen R. Jber, and Al Nahrain Journal of Science, 2024 In this study, synthesis of [D-H] via reaction of compound [C] with p-alkoxybenzaldehyde. The derivative [C] that produces from reaction the 4-amino-5-(4-aminophenyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol with phosphory l chloride. The synthesized derivatives are characterized by 1HNMR and FTIR spectroscopies. The antibacterial activity of the obtained thiadiazol derivatives [D-H] was screened against Gram-positive bacteria viz.(Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis) and Gram-negative bacteria viz. (Escherichia coli) by disc diffusion method, the results showed that compound [H]has the highest activity toward Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus, while compounds [D]showed the highest activity toward E. coli.
Theoretical Study to Evaluate Experimental Corrosion Inhibition of Ammonium Salt Derivatives for Mild Steel in Acidic Solution Mehdi Salih Shihab, Nasreen Raheem Jber, Mariam Sadoon Mohsin Protection of Metals and Physical Chemistry of Surfaces, 2024 Some new organic triethylammonium salts, with names: triethylammonium 4-((4-(aminomethyl)phenyl)amino)-4-oxobut-2-enoate (B4); triethylammonium5-((4-(aminomethyl)phenyl)amino)-5-oxopentanoate (B5); and triethylammonium 4-((4-(aminomethyl)phenyl)amino)-4-oxobutanoate (B6) were synthesized and identified successfully. They were applied as corrosion organic inhibitors for mild steel in acidic environment. The new organic triethylammonium salts were tested in 1M sulfuric acid for 24 h at room temperature by applying the weight loss measurements. The high efficiency of inhibition values of all triethylammonium salts (B4, B5 & B6) were revealed at the maximum organic triethylammonium salts concentrations. The decreasing of corrosion rates of mild steel were associated with increasing the concentration of organic inhibitors (B4-B6), as well as, the increasing with coverage surface degree. The adsorption free energy values were explained the effects of physisorption for organic salts (B4, B5, and B6). The correlation between experimental results and theoretical data was considered via semi-empirical molecular orbital calculations for the three studied inhibitors. Theoretical calculations were used to understand the nature of interaction among organic corrosion inhibitor molecules and the metal surface of the mild steel.
The Effect of 1,3,4-Oxadiazol and 1,2,4-Triazole Compounds on Urease and Pepsin Enzymes , Zahraa M. Abdnoor, Nasreen R.Jber, , Aliaa Saadoon Abdul-Razaq, and Al Nahrain Journal of Science, 2024 The helicobacter pylori affected urease and pepsin enzymes in the stomach, so the object of this study is to screen the effect of bis 1,3,4-oxadiazole and bis 1,2,4, triazole derivatives compounds on h-pylori urease enzyme in vitro. The results show that urease was inhibited by all produced compounds when the concentration increased. The most effective urease inhibitor is determined to be the compounds (A3e, A3c, A3d and B3c). The clinical study involved studying the pepsin enzyme activity level in H-pyloripatients and control, the results found that the activity of pepsin elevated in h-pylori patients as compared with control. The prepared compounds were screened on pepsin enzyme in vitro and showed that all the prepared compounds decreased the pepsin activity as the concentration increased. The nitrogen heterocyclic compounds. This study concludes that nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds have an important future in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori disease.
