Publications

In addition to peer-reviewed journal articles, I have contributed to several book chapters and instructional materials that support teaching and research in French language, translation, and sociolinguistics.
Some of these include:
- Book Chapter: “Exploring the Impact of Secular and Religious Education on Technological Advancement in Nigeria” (2024), in a festschrift honoring Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede.
- Instructional Material: “Translation in Language Teaching”, published in Teaching Methodology in the Humanities (2020), which offers practical strategies for integrating translation into classroom instruction.
- Research Chapter: “Curriculum Innovation in French Language Teaching and Learning in Nigeria” (2023), co-authored and published in a festschrift celebrating Prof. Isaiah Bariki.
These publications reflect my commitment to bridging theory and practice in the classroom, enriching both teacher training and curriculum development in French language education.

RESEARCH OUTPUTS (PATENTS, SOFTWARE, PUBLICATIONS, PRODUCTS)

Although I have not developed software or registered patents, my research contributions are extensive in the fields of sociolinguistics, translation, and French language didactics. I have authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and instructional materials used in French language teaching across Nigerian universities and colleges of education. My works explore topics such as:
- French language use in Benin and Nigeria
- Language planning and policy
- Translation studies
- Lexical creativity during the COVID-19 pandemic
- African linguistic identity in francophone education
These outputs are published both nationally and internationally, including in journals such as the Journal of Universal Language (Seoul), Revue des Sciences du Langage et de la Communication (Benin), and Nigerian Journal of Arts and Humanities.

CONSULTANCY

I have served as a consultant, external assessor, and academic advisor for various institutions and national bodies. My consultancy work includes:
- External assessor for the appointment of Principal Lecturers at institutions such as Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin and Federal Polytechnic, Offa.
- Curriculum and programme evaluator for French departments, where I contributed to programme accreditation and curriculum development in line with NUC and TRCN standards.
- Consultant trainer and resource person at national workshops, such as:
“New Approaches to Teaching French as a Foreign Language” (UFTAN/OIF, 2025)
Academic Writing and Publishing (University of Ilorin, 2011)
French Pedagogical Workshops at the Centre for French Teaching and Documentation (CFTD), Jos.
In addition, I have provided editorial consultancy as Editor-in-Chief for academic publications and festschrifts, and served as a desk officer for international collaborations with universities in Canada, Benin, and Ghana.
My consultancy work reflects my expertise in language education, translation studies, and academic quality assurance.

Industry, Institute, or Organisation Collaboration

Throughout my career, I have collaborated with several institutions and organizations both nationally and internationally. I served as Desk Officer for Regina University in Canada (2023–2025) and for the University of Abomey Calavi in Benin (2019–2023). I also worked with the Association of West African Universities (AWAU) as a translator and interpreter during conferences and international meetings.
In Nigeria, I contributed to national academic development as a moderator for French at JAMB (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) in 2019 and 2023, and as a trained facilitator for the National Census in both 2006 and 2023. I’ve also collaborated with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and several colleges of education as an external examiner and assessor.
My goal in these collaborations has always been to promote French language education, research excellence, and regional integration through language and cultural exchange.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

I bring over three decades of experience bridging higher education, language services, and national development initiatives. As a bilingual translator and interpreter (French–English), I have worked with the Association of West African Universities (AWAU) and participated in major international events, including the West African University Games (WAUG) and global academic conferences.
I have contributed to nation-building efforts by serving as a trained facilitator during Nigeria’s National Census exercises (2006, 2023) and as a French language moderator for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) (2019, 2023). These roles required professionalism, accuracy, and an ability to work under pressure.
In the education sector, I have played key roles in curriculum innovation, exam moderation, and external assessment for colleges and universities across Nigeria. I have also served as Editor-in-Chief and contributed to academic publishing and research dissemination at national and international levels.
My experience reflects a strong commitment to language education, international collaboration, and capacity building across academic and public service sectors.

STARTUP

While I have not founded a formal startup, I have led and contributed to several innovative educational initiatives that function like small-scale enterprises in the academic space. Notably:
I served as Director of the Linguistic Immersion Centre at the University of Ilorin, where I helped develop programmes that prepared students and professionals for real-life communication in French. This initiative blended academic goals with practical, market-driven language training.
I have also designed and facilitated workshops on French pedagogy, translation, and curriculum innovation for university staff and students, offering hands-on training that bridges academic knowledge with real-world application.
As Editor-in-Chief and organiser of academic publications and festschrifts, I have managed teams, timelines, and funding—skills that mirror startup leadership and coordination.

SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, or ACADEMIC BENEFITS

My work in language education, translation, and sociolinguistics has brought significant social, academic, and economic value at both national and international levels.
- Socially, I have promoted multilingualism, cross-cultural understanding, and regional integration through my teaching, research, and translation work. By training students and teachers in French language and intercultural competence, I contribute to peaceful communication and unity in West Africa.
- Economically, my participation in national projects such as the National Census and collaborations with JAMB help improve data accuracy and education access, which are crucial for policy planning and human capital development. My graduates often work in teaching, diplomacy, and translation—sectors that boost employment and regional mobility.
- Academically, I have supervised several Master’s and Ph.D. theses, contributed to curriculum development, and published extensively in national and international journals. My research on language use, translation, and education policy helps inform better teaching practices and supports innovation in language learning across Africa.
Overall, my career has been focused on empowering learners, supporting institutions, and advancing language education for national growth and regional cooperation.
