  • Integrating Life Skills into Kid's Athletics Program on Extracurricular Activities
Eka Nugraha, Yusuf Hidayat, Asep Sumpena, Salman Salman, Ricky Wibowo
International Journal of Human Movement and Sports Sciences, 2022
Life skills play a crucial role in the success of individual lives, but research related to life skills in sports activities, especially athletics is still very limited. This study aims to determine the effect of integrating life skills into the Kid's athletics program on extracurricular activities in elementary schools. A quasi-experimental method was administered in this study with a questionnaire technique for the data collection. Collected samples using purposive sampling, forty-five elementary school students aged 11-12 years (11.4±1.1) participating in extracurricular activities were taken as the research subjects. The samples were divided into three groups: the experimental group with an intentionally structured kid athletic program, the experimental group with the unintentionally structured kid athletic program, and the control group without any treatment. All groups were assigned a ten-session program. The results showed a significant difference between the value of the life skills integrated into the Kid's athletics program and the group in the Kid's athletics program that did not integrate life skills (p>0.05). This study indicates that life skills can be developed through Kids' athletic programs by integrating them into extracurricular activities and sports, with the hope that students can implement them in everyday life to be valuable and successful in facing various life challenges in the future.

Journal of Physical Education and Sport, 2021
The start phase is a crucial techniques in sprinting.A good start is characterized by an extraordinary force exerted in the horizontal direction. This study develops a start block that can read a three-axis force and a practical device to monitor the sprint start technique based on the force exerted by the feet and block time at the start. The foot pedals obtain feet pushing forces at the start block. These foot pedals are equipped with load cell sensors that record forces in the X (front-back), Y (right-left), and Z (up-down) axes. The start block processes the sensor readings using a microcontroller. The data can be viewed using a smartphone or other mobile devices. The block time is calculated by analyzing the output force reading on the start block.Load Cell testing and calibration were performed for the two load cells used.Measurement results showed a very good linear correlation (>0.99).This linearity indicates that the system can properly measure the load for the tested range. To test the device, A total of 6 elite-level athletes performed two maximum sprints over a distance of 10 m during two separate testing sessions.Intraclass correlation coefficients were used to determine each parameter's reliability. The device showed high reliability (p > 0.5) on the Lx, Lz, Rx, and Rz axes, while the Ly and Ry axes had relatively moderate reliability. This result shows that the Lx, Lz, Rx, and Rz axes gave reliable measurements during the two separate testing sessions. In addition, the device produced accurate data readings, which correlated well with sprint performance. Thus, the developed device is suitable for biomechanical analysis of sprinting starts.
  • Is physical activity level in physical education lesson related to fundamental movement skills at elementary schools?

International Journal of Human Movement and Sports Sciences, 2021
Objectives: The results of the study in various countries show that students do not achieve the recommended level of physical activity during physical education class. The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of physical activity of elementary school students in a physical education class and the relation between the level of physical activity of elementary school students and fundamental movement skills (FMS). Methods: Correlational approach was used to analyze the results of this study. Third grade elementary school students (n=43; boys=23; girl=20) were enrolled in this study. The instrument used to measure the level of physical activity was the heart rate monitor chest strap (Polar H10) connected to IPAD Polar Team application Mini that was used during physical education class. To measure FMS, TGMD-2 was used consisting of locomotor and object control skills. Results: The results indicated that the distribution of physical activity levels in Physical Education learning at elementary school classes in Indonesia did not reach the recommended level of physical activity (31.20%) MVPA. Boys only reached 32,65% MVPA on average and only 10% of them managed to reach the recommended MVPA. Meanwhile, the girls reached 31,08% MVPA and only 16% of them reached the recommended MVPA. FMS was correlated with the level of physical activity of students during Physical Education learning at the low level (.203). Conclusions: Physical education class needs to pay attention to the intensity of children's physical activities to get benefit from physical activities besides learning through movement.
  • Correlation between Jump Performances and Phases of Sprinting in Indonesian Sprinters
    R Wibowo, C U Abdullah
Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships jump performances and phases of sprinting in indonesian sprinters. Nine national level male sprinters participated in this study at the competitive phase. The jumping performance including standing broad jump (SBJ), vertical jump (VJ), and standing single leg hop (SSLH). Phase of sprinting determined used 30 metre sprint test for acceleration phase (AP) and determined maximal speed (MS) used flying 30 metre test. Normally distributed data were analysed using Pearson’s correlation coefficients. The results show that strong correlation between SBJ and AP (r = -0,691; p=0.039). Moderate correlations were found between VJ and AP (r = -0,565; p = 0.113), and strong correlation between SSLH and AP (r = -0,729; p = 0,026). There are moderate correlation between SBJ and MS (r = 0,420; p = 0,260) and between VJ and MS (r = 0,537; p = 0,136) and strong correlation SSLH and MS (r = 0,720; p = 0.029). Overall the findings of the present study indicated that there are correlation between jumping performance, AP and MS at competitive phase. SSLH showed stronger to predict AP and MS at competitive training phase. There appears to be a relationship between jump performance and phase of sprinting in this population, but more studies with bigger population are needed to confirm these results.
  • Model Development of Classification of Homogeneous Class Learning in Aquatic
    H Firmansyah, A Wahyudi, R Wibowo
Iop Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Grouping is based on the view that in addition to these students have in common, also have differences. Grouping is the convergence of teaching classical system and individual system. Rapid development so that students do not interfere with a slow student and vice versa (students who do not interfere with rapid slow), then perform the grouping students. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of grouping students in learning strategies aquatic activities have an effect on student learning outcomes. Data analysis make two different test Mean Dependents (t test difference average Group Two pairs). RnD research methods with the length of study for 3 years. Participants in this study were students FPOK UPI that follows the course of learning aquatic. Results (year 1), with peer teaching methods to increase the participation and cooperation grouping (affective), mutual learning (cognitive) and skills (psychomotor) students.
