Design of a distributed power system using solar PV and micro turbine-based wind energy system with a flywheel energy storage Tharinaematam Bhavani, Durgam Rajababu, Md Mujahid Irfan, T. Rakesh, P. Chandra Sekhar, Aymen Flah, Habib Kraiem Scientific Reports, 2026 As renewable energy sources gain distinction in distributed power generation, micro-grid systems integrating solar photovoltaic (PV), micro-turbine-based wind energy, and flywheel energy storage have developed as sustainable solutions. This paper presents a novel design methodology for a hybrid micro-grid system that optimally integrates these components, ensuring enhanced efficiency, resilience, and stability. In a grid outage or weak-grid scenario, a flywheel provides instant backup until wind/solar/storage catches up. The distributed nature ensures that local power supply is maintained, thereby reducing blackout risks. Flywheels avoid chemical waste, unlike batteries. The proposed hybrid micro-grid system represents an innovative approach to distributed power generation in terms of triple energy sources and storage type is in the form of mechanical and the response speed is ultra fast (few milli seconds), fast response time (milliseconds), ideal for voltage/frequency regulation Handling sudden load changes or source fluctuations high reliability due to multiple backups and high sustainability. This hybrid system is suitable for decentralized operation, which allows each unit to make local decisions. This research contributes to advancing micro-grid technology, supporting the transition towards sustainable and resilient energy infrastructures. A key contribution of this work is the design of a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for dynamic energy management and control of DC–DC converters. Advanced control algorithms (like fuzzy logic, manage real-time source prioritization, power quality regulation, and energy storage control). It enables multi-input, multi-output decision-making that traditional PID or rule-based controllers can’t handle efficiently. Handles nonlinear, variable, and uncertain conditions better than conventional methods. Comparative analysis reveals that the FLC outperforms conventional PID controllers, offering a significantly faster dynamic response and reducing output ripples to a greater extent. This leads to improved power quality, enhanced system life, and optimized energy utilization.
Rasa-Powered Conversational AI Framework for Intelligent Electric Vehicle Trip Planning and Energy Management Phanendra T, Swapna G, Vishnuvardhan M, K V Govardhan Rao, T Rakesh, M Kiran Kumar Indonesian Journal of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, 2025 The rapid growth of Electric Vehicles (EVs) calls for intelligent solutions to optimize grid stability and enhance user experience. This paper proposes a geo-optimized, user-centric EV management system integrating open-source geospatial tools with Rasa-based Natural Language Understanding (NLU). Through an interactive conversational interface, EV owners receive real-time trip planning recommendations based on parameters such as State of Charge (SoC), charging point availability, and route efficiency. The system utilizes APIs for real-time geolocation, charging station data, and Battery Management System (BMS) insights to determine optimal charging locations, durations, and trip costs. Extensive testing demonstrates improved energy management and route planning efficiency, highlighting the system’s potential for smart and sustainable EV infrastructure development.
A versatile three-level CLLC resonant converter for off-board EV chargers with wide voltage adaptability contribution Chandra Babu Guttikonda, Pinni Srinivasa Varma, Malligunta Kiran Kumar, Kambhampati Venkata Govardhan Rao, Rakesh Teerdala, Santoshi Kanagala International Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2025 The vehicle-to-grid (V2G) concept has gained significant attention in the last decade due to its potential to enhance direct current (DC) microgrid stability and reliability. Electric vehicles (EVs) play a central role in distributed energy storage systems, optimizing efficiency and enabling the integration of renewable energy sources. This study offers a unique three level CLLC resonant converter developed for off-board EV chargers to promote bidirectional power transfer between DC microgrids and EVs. The suggested converter uses resonant CLLC components and two three-level full bridges to effectively handle a broad range of EV battery voltages (200 V–700 V). To ensure effective power conversion, the first harmonic approximation (FHA) model is used to analyse the converter's resonant frequency characteristics. The proposed system achieves high efficiency (>95%), with voltage stability maintained at 750 V under various load conditions. The converter's performance was validated through MATLAB based simulations, comparing proportional integral (PI) and proportional integral derivative (PID) control strategies. The PID-controlled system demonstrated superior dynamic response, reduced current ripples, and enhanced voltage regulation compared to the PI-controlled system. This study demonstrates the viability of implementing a three-level CLLC resonant converter for efficient, bidirectional, and wide-voltage adaptation in EV charging infrastructure, thereby contributing to grid stability and renewable energy integration.
A Verified Synergistic Deep Learning Framework for Copyrighted Character Recognition Using CNN and Transformer Integration Jeevana Jyoth Pujari, Bikku Thulasi, Kunduru Anusha, Rakesh Teerdala, M Kiran Kumar, K V Govardhan Rao 2025 IEEE 4th World Conference on Applied Intelligence and Computing Aic 2025, 2025 In this paper, we proposed a novel deep learning framework, the Synergistic Deep Learning Model, for recognizing copyrighted characters with heightened accuracy and minimized overfitting. Traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are widely used for image recognition tasks, yet they often suffer from overfitting, which limits their generalizability in complex datasets. Transformers, on the other hand, have shown promising improvements over CNNs, yielding higher accuracy with reduced overfitting; however, they still face challenges in fully minimizing loss in character recognition tasks. To address these limitations, we introduce a Synergistic model that combines the strengths of CNNs and Transformers to create a hybrid architecture aimed at achieving the best of both worlds. This model leverages the spatial feature extraction capabilities of CNNs alongside the contextual learning strengths of Transformers, resulting in a balanced framework that eliminates overfitting, maximizes accuracy, and minimizes loss. Experimental results demonstrate that the Synergistic model outperforms standalone CNN and Transformer models, offering a reliable solution for accurate and robust copyrighted character recognition. This framework has significant implications for improved model performance in character recognition applications, where precision and reduced error rates are crucial.
Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Sources Using GA Technique for Improving Power Quality International Journal of Renewable Energy Research, 2021
GA based PID controller: Design and Optimization Syed Inthiyaz, Rajesh Nalli, T Rakesh, K Subbarao, Sk. Hasane Ahammad, V Rajesh Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Inventive Computation Technologies Icict 2021, 2021 As evolution in a natural tendency is extensive, in which the optimization technique like Genetic Algorithm (GA) has become the ubiquitous method. Generally, different controllers exist, where in the PI controller is widely used for its characteristics but due to its trial and error-based selection of parameters, where it has faced many challenges in achieving the optimization. So, there requires the search method called GA, which works on the concept of genetics and due to the iterative procedure and method that gives the improved result. The fitness function considered for every generation is based on the three aspects: Selection, crossover and mutation that achieves the optimizing process. Also, optimization is done on the theory of minimum mean square error [MMSE] to obtain the performance evaluation. This paper has implemented a control strategy for GA based PID and compares the proposed method with the classical Zeigler-Nichols [Z-N] method. The time specifications are noted and comparison is made between the proposed and existing method. It is observed that, the proposed method gives quick and accurate response with minimum steady state error.
