The role of interleukin-4-590 (C>T) gene polymorphism and its relationship with lung cancer risk in the Iraqi population Anwar Abed Nasser Dhabaan, Qussay Noori Raddam Revista Latinoamericana De Hipertension, 2022 Background: Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropy cytokine that plays a role as an immune regulator and anti-inflammatory. The study was conducted to determine the polymorphisms of the IL-4 gene and its relationship with lung cancer by using ARMS-PCR (Amplification refractory mutation system technique). The study included 240 samples; their ages ranged from 37 to 72 years. This case-controlled study was performed including 160 Lung cancer patients (mean age 58.92±1.2 years) and 80 controls (mean age 46.91±1.6 years). Results: The results show that in Lung cancer patients samples high frequency for allele C of IL- 4-590 (C>T), was ratio 74.38% as compared with T allele was ratio 31.87%, and associated with an etiological fraction (EF) of Lung cancer patients, as well dependent on values of odds ratio (OR) was 6.20 and confidence intervals (CI 95%) was 4.09 to 9.40, while T allele associated with a preventive fraction (PF) with Lung cancer patients. The statistical analysis results present CC homozygote genotype of IL- 4 -590 (C>T) gene was higher than in Lung cancer patients and its ratio 61.25% and showed associated with an etiological fraction (EF) in Lung cancer, while CT and TT genotypes present in high frequency in control was ratio 36.25% and 50% sequentially, and present associated with a preventive fraction (PF) in lung cancer patients. Conclusions: Our findings demonstrate that the IL-4 gene in position -590 (C>T) may represent a risk factor and is associated with lung cancer development in the Iraqi population.
Physiological and histological protective role of Astragalus spinosus root alcoholic extract against oxidative stress induced by H2O2in rabbits Moafaq Mutlak Zeidan, Qussay Noori Raddam Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 This study amid to evaluate the role of plant’s root (Astragalus spinosus), in biochemical parameters and histological sections effect in reduce the oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide in rabbits Oryctalagus cuniculus, 7-9 months age and (1300-1500 g) of weight. Animals were distributed to three groups, every group were included five rabbits; group (1) control received water and diet. Group (2): animals treated with H2O2 (0.05) and drinking water. Group (3): animals treated with H2O2 and alcoholic extract of the plant root (5mg/kg body weight) for period one month. Study showed high significant increasing in Creatinine and ALP, LDH concentrations of animals treated with H2O2 alone (1.74±0.40) (9.900±1.058), (260.40±26.66) respectively, in compared with control (0.838±0.08) (8.420±1.132), (154.0±49.79) respectively while the concentration of Creatinine, ALP and LDH had been decreased with high significant (P≤ 0.05) in group treated with H2O2 and extract of the plant roots (0.79±0.09), (9.220±0.801) and (166.2±36.08) respectively in compared with H2O2 group. And the result of histological sections of liver, kidneys and heart, which showed an improvement of cells in group treated with the extract of the plant which had been induced by oxidative stress.

Determination of Blood Lead Concentration in Pateints with Asthma Qussay Noori Raddam, Nahla Kamal Assad Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2019 This study was designed to determination the concentration of lead and Immunoglobulin E in blood of patients with asthma. Study include 60 samples divided for two group, first group include 35 samples for patients with asthma there age were between 25-65 years and the age average was 47.95 ±1.4 also this group divided for two subgroup young patients which include 17 samples and aging patients which include18 samples, and the second group include 25 samples for normal peoples there age average were34.9±2.1 which divided for young and aging samples. Results showing significant increasing in lead concentration in blood of patients with asthma in both young and aging people as compared with normal people(control group). Lead concentration were8.98±2.2 in young control and elevated significantly in young patients to 25.2 ± 2.3, and 12.9 ± 2.4 in aging control was elevating significantly to 31.6± 2.1. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) was increase significantly p<0.01 in blood of patients with asthma in both young and aging samples compared with control groups, IgE concentration were 41.6 ± 2.4 in young samples and increase significantly to 81.2 ± 3.1, and in aging samples were 56.5 ± 2.4 increase significantly to 90.7 ± 2.5.
