  • Multimodal Cognitive Mapping Framework for Context-Aware Figurative Language Understanding
    R. Swathi Gudipati, Neena PC, K. Ezhilmathi, M. Durairaj, S. Farhad, Elangovan Muniyandy, Padmashree V
International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications, 2025
Learning figurative language, including idioms, metaphors, and similes, remains challenging due to subtle cultural, contextual, and multimodal cues that cannot be inferred from literal meanings alone. Traditional unimodal and text-only approaches, such as CLS-BERT, LaBSE, and mUSE, often fail to capture these deeper semantic patterns, resulting in reduced accuracy and limited cultural generalization. This study introduces a context-aware multimodal learning framework that integrates textual embeddings from a Graph-Enhanced Transformer (HCGT) with visual embeddings from CLIP, fused through a graph-based cross-modal attention mechanism, and refined using a cognitive mapping layer. This architecture models human-like semantic reasoning by aligning literal and figurative senses across modalities while maintaining conceptual structure through graph-driven representation learning. Experiments conducted on idiom, metaphor, simile, and multimodal meme datasets include preprocessing steps such as text cleaning, tokenization, image normalization, and label standardization. The framework achieves an accuracy of 90%, surpassing state-of-the-art text-only transformer baselines by 3–4%. Explainable AI tools, including attention heatmaps and SHAP values, validate the interpretability of the model by highlighting influential textual tokens and visual regions. The results confirm that integrating multimodal embeddings with cognitive mapping substantially enhances performance, interpretability, and cultural sensitivity in figurative language understanding.

Success analysis is a comprehensive approach that delves into the multifaceted factors driving achievement across various domains, including personal development, education, career, and entrepreneurship. Understanding success is not merely about defining it; It requires examining the intricate web of influences that contribute to an individual's or organization's ability to reach their goals. in the face of setbacks. This resilience is often correlated with higher levels of achievement, as those with a growth mindset are inclined to embrace effort, seek feedback, and cultivate their skills continuously. Conversely, those with a fixed mindset may avoid challenges, fearing failure and consequently limiting their potential for growth. Another critical component is goal setting. Clear, achievable goals provide a roadmap for success. Research shows that individuals who set specific goals are more likely to achieve them compared to those with vague aspirations. This process involves not only identifying what one wants to achieve but also breaking down the steps necessary.

The importance of SEL in education can be traced to its profound impact on student outcomes. Research consistently shows that SEL contributes to improved academic performance, reduced behavioral issues, and enhanced mental health among students. Educators equipped with SEL skills can create supportive learning environments that promote student engagement and resilience. In teacher preparation, the integration of SEL involves both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Courses focused on SEL can equip aspiring teachers with strategies for fostering a positive classroom environment, teaching conflict resolution, and promoting inclusive practices that recognize the diverse backgrounds and experiences of their students. Moreover, the implementation of SEL in teacher education goes beyond individual courses; it requires a systemic approach that permeates all aspects of teacher training. This can include experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and practicums, where future teachers can practice SEL skills in real classroom settings.

  • Addressing attrition in the Indian IT industry: Evaluating the efficacy of a motivation and engagement model
    Abhishek Narasimha, P. C. Neena
    Multidisciplinary Reviews, 2024
This study traces the development of the Indian IT sector from TCS's founding in 1967 to its emergence as a multibillion-dollar sector in 2023. Many IT firms were set up in India after the establishment of the firm TCS with Tier 1 and Tier 2 categories, based on their size, revenue, and other factors., etc. Analyzed are two of the issues of the IT sector: a high attrition rate and low employee engagement. The reasons behind these are identified, and a methodology is created to raise employee satisfaction and lower the attrition rate in the Indian IT industry. News articles in publications including Times of India, Hindustan Times, Deccan Herald, Economic Times, and LiveMint provided information about the Indian IT industry. Google Scholar provided keywords such as "Indian IT Sector," "Employee Motivation," "Employee Engagement," "Job Satisfaction," and "Attrition." For every keyword searched from 1980 to 2022, the top 20 referenced papers were found. A total of 77 publications were reviewed, and their abstracts were examined to determine their applicability to the study question. Additionally, a number of OB and HRM textbooks were searched for information about the keywords. Definitions of motivation, employee engagement, job satisfaction, and attrition rate that are pertinent to the research study are created from a systematic literature analysis, giving these concepts more conceptual clarity. A model that connects attrition rate, job satisfaction, employee engagement, and motivation is built. Theoretical inferences of the model are examined, including the inclusion of individual characteristics, organisational commitment, and turnover intentions. The model's practical implications, such as its application in the business world and in nations with different cultural norms, are examined. Lastly, a discussion of the study's limitations is included, as the model was created using a limited number of variables.

The world of talent acquisition is always uncertain and dynamic as the firms will need a strategy to attract and retain talent. In this scenario, Gamified assessments have emerged as innovative facets to assess an individual's performance on aptitude and trainable skills. Game-based assessments play a crucial role in predicting employee performance. This study on Gamified assessments outlines the methodology of assessing the cognitive, affective, and behavioral outcomes of an individual on the renowned guiding theories, where the features of the assessments are based on motivational and cognitive theories. In this research, the authors devised a model ‘NL -24 LearnWare' gamification assessment on twenty-four dimensions of cognitive, affective, and behavioural learning theories. The authors using this model have also explored how gamified assessments influence the selection of cohorts to analyze the differences between the old and the modern trends of assessments.
  • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal dynamics in the workplace: Importance of psychological contract
, Neena Chandramohan, Abraham Varughese, and
    Organizatsionnaya Psikhologiya, 2024
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to identify which factors of the psychological contract contributes to the attrition level in the service and manufacturing sectors. The degree of psychological contract observed in the firms and its fluctuating degree is examined empirically in this study based on the influence of the external factors. There is evidence that the employees and the employers will notbe able to sustain with same degree of the psychological contract as they work as two entities in the organization. The businesses which are successful undoubtedly had a strong ‘Relational Psychological Contract’ that enabled them to gain competitive edge in the market. Study design. This research was conducted in two stages, case study analysis, and primary data analysis. In case study analysis, twenty fivefirms were selected of which eight were from manufacturing and seventeen from the service industry. The case study method helped to explore the employee-employer relationship. A broad-level study was conducted using a structured questionnaire in which 393 were considered for analysis. There is exploratory study with the structural equation modelling analysis done with the confirmatory factor analysis. Findings. The analysis of confirmatory factor model of structural equation modelling showed a ‘Psychological Dissonance’ between employees and employers and the negative covariance of the variables of the confirmatory factor analysis shows that the respondents have a commitment to the employers as employees but are not emotionally linked. The relationship is shrunk to a level of delivery tasks for remuneration. This leads to higher attrition rate in the service sector, comparing to the manufacturing sector among the employees with less experience which is proven in the study. Research limitations. The research limitations are the attrition data to collect from various firms as it is a negative outcome in any organization. Value of the results. The value of the results is genuine with the primary data collected from the respondents (both employers and employees of the firms) which the author could get access.
